Saved the date, bought the gown, now it's time to find the man. Arranged marriage! My first reaction would be no way in hell! But that's not what Rosalind Betters thinks! Have Gown, Will Wed by Killian McRae is an one-of-a-kind novel, with a really compelling and convincing plot based on a really unique theme-the idea of arranged marriages!

Thanks to the author, Killian McRae, for providing me with a copy of her novel in exchange for an honest review.

C’est la vie. Every silver lining had its cloud. One thing Rosalind knew for sure: unlike scores of literary inventions and hallmark movie heroines, no empty place in her heart existed where a widget called “man” would fit.

I never knew there was such a thing as an intelligently written, humorous romance until I started reading this story. That’s the only way I can accuratel

I have been a fan of Killian for a long time, she knows the world of Silicon Valley and to read a story about a woman taking charge of her life is so much fun. Rosalind is on top of her game, captain of industry. In her 30's there is on draw back a lot of her friends are getting married, so she tackles the job of getting married much like she would hire a new employee in her high power firm: hiring an headhunter.
As much we want to tackle the issues with a clear head and good plans one thing thr

Not impressed. I don’t ask for a lot from my low key romance books, but I couldn’t handle the quality of this one. It was so, so poorly written. I found multiple outright mistakes in tense, spelling, using the wrong form of a homonym, etc. Beyond the mistakes, the writing wasn’t anything special. It didn’t really flow and it just seemed like I could have written it myself. The story itself was fine, although not quite what I had expected. I had hoped for a lot more wedding planning details and l ...more

Unique, Intelligent Romance with a Twist

When I read the title for this book, I knew it would be a unique story. I was not disappointed. Not only was it original, it was filled with ambitious, successful, intelligent women who still maintained their sexiness and femininity. Her answer to being too busy to search for a suitable husband was genius. Rosalind took traditional marriage matchmaking and turned it on its head with a modern twist. The romance was steamy, yet tasteful. This is one of the f

This is kind of a crazy story of a woman who doesn't want to be left behind on the marriage list. Hiring a consult agency to find a husband before her friends finish getting married. Well I honestly wasn't to fond of the story but it was an okay one time read.

Let me preface this review and stress that Have Gown, Will Wed is one of the smartest books I've read in a long time. Maybe even too smart. But does having a book being too smart make it any less entertaining? Nope.

Killian McRae is a very prolific author. Her prose, her storytelling, the way she crafts her chracters are near flawless. I have to applaud an author who can balance the amount of cultural, societal, and emotional depth to her characters, the plot, and the setting of any book. It's

Her grey eyes narrowed. ' Not an intern, either. What I'm after is -'

'A husband!' The words exploded from Carmen's lips along with a sound that was somewhere between a squeal and a sigh. 'She want

Have Gown, Will Wed by Killian McRae- 3 stars

In the fast-paced business world dominated by men, a woman has to be strong, independent, and willing to give up a lot to make it. Rosalind had done just that, and she thought her friends had, too. But just like anyone else who outgrows the visions of the perfect future they have in their 20s, her friends had all realized having no one to share their lives with would make all of that success worthless. What a wakeup call that was for Rosalind!

Have Gown Will Wed was really a pleasant surprise. I would certainly give it 4 stars out of 5! My advise to the reader, which is the reason I gave it 4 stars instead 5, was to just get through the first few chapters. They seemed a little confusing with information overload. After that, the story flowed and it was just so sweet, and hopeful. It was easy to love the ultra successful CEO Rosalind. Rosalind is loyal, humble, fierce, smart, strategic, honest, successful beautiful and kind. Rosalind h ...more

***Received By The Author For An Honest Review***

I have to start by saying that we have a very strong, independent heroine in Rosalind who doesn’t need a man in her life to define who she is. She’s beautiful, smart, driven and extremely determined. Back in college, Rosalind and her friends always put their careers first before even thinking about settling down with a man. But as the years went by, her friends slowly started to build their family life and put their careers second. It was only h

I really really enjoyed this story. It was creative, hilarious, fresh, and an original love story. Killian does a great job with jumping right off the hesitation. The novel starts off with Rosalind, a strong, independent, and career-minded woman who realizes that everything she has worked so hard to build as her own, has no meaning if you can't share it with someone. She realizes that she's more lonely than ever, especially after her be

Who in their right mind gets a wedding dress, picks the wedding date, asks her BFF to be the maid of honor, but doesn't have a groom? The synopsis grabbed me and I just had to read it to find out what kind of person does that. I was not disappointed.

Have Gown, Will Wed is the first book I've read by Killian McRae, and let me tell you, it won't be the last. This was such a fun little story, I read it in a day. It was a perfect book to read in one or two sittings when you just need a break from everything. Rosalind is a strong, smart, and independent woman. She knows what she wants, and she wants it how and when she is ready. She rarely deviates from her life plan, until now. But even with this deviation, s

Ive read Killian's Pure Souls and really enjoyed it. I was surprised with the lack of heat and great romantic tension HGWW considering PS was oozing with it. I loved the premise however the characters, Rosalind & Xavier, never transitioned from their impersonal and business like head hunting/ matchmaking / husband search relationship.

However Killian is a method writer, if there's such a thing. Her voice her is hey different from PS and I really felt like I was in Silicon Valley amongst supe

Funny, fresh, and full of romance!! Those are the words that come to my mind when I think of Have Gown, Will Wed. It has such a different storyline and I think it is one that quite a number of women will be able to relate to.

The concept of having a professional woman who seems to be independent and has all of her stuff together is a breath of fresh hair from the damsel in distress stories. Not only is the storyline fresh but the book is well-written. This was my first time reading something by K

4.5 Star Review - Have Gown, Will Wed

I recommend this book.

I enjoyed this book by Killian. The book was a good read.

Really who better to find a husband then a head hunter? Makes you wonder if it would work? The characters are all successful, smart people. I find it funny she has everything picked out but the groom.

Guess it's almost like when you are a little girl and pick out all your wedding things. The flowers, dress, and the maid of honor. Sometimes even the groom....

The book is well writte

If you like the TV show character Bones, I think you'll like Rosalind. She's in her 30's and at the top of her game, but has no clue how to have a long term romantic relationship. She admits to having abysmal taste in men. So, she hires a headhunter to find a prospective spouse for her.

I adored the characters in this. Great plot line and an addictive read. There were, however, a few grammatical issues. If they were edited up, this would be a five for me.

I always enjoyed the fan fic stories this author wrote, so I decided to try out her original fic. It was a cute, quick read that was pretty humorous at times. Both Rosalid and Xavier are very likable characters, but it just lacked a little something for me.

Such a lovely story! The synopsis was intriguing and just so different! Rosalind is a fantastic character, who knows her own mind and what she wants her life to be like until Xavier. Now Xavier Hommes.... the man is just delicious and perfect. Who wouldn't fall for him? Brilliant book!

Killian McRae would tell you that she is a rather boring lass, an authoress whose characters’ lives are so much more exciting than her own. She would be right. Sadly, this sarcastic lexophile leads a rather mundane existence in the San Francisco Bay Area. She once dreamed of being the female Indiana Jones, and to that end she earned a degree in Middle Eastern History from the University of Michiga ...more
