Often I find that I fear reading historical romance. I have always been somewhat of a collector of history and historical fact and sometimes this makes me not such a great candidate for reading historical fiction.I tend to shred it apart when I find inaccuracies. I am pleased to say, that history buff or not, you will likely love this book. The research was impeccable and the story is lovely and compelling.

First of all, the dialogue...oh the dialogue. I had so much fun with the Scottish languag

Dawning, by Olivia Stocum, offers a sigh-worthy cover as well as "The Princess Bride goes to the Scottish Highlands" feel. Olivia Stocum writes with a poetic voice/style, making you feel like you're right there with the characters, the Scottish breeze causing your kilt to dance. Dawning is a sweet story, involving real characters who fall in love, struggle with trying times and rejection, make mistakes and learn how to live with them, long for things they feel they shouldn't, and eventually, com ...more

I had a few reasons for choosing to read Dawning when I otherwise don't read romances. First, it's historical, taking place in a time and setting so far removed from my own that I knew it would at least serve the escapist in me. Second, I had it on good authority (i.e., other readers) that Dawning isn't your average romance novel. Indeed, it isn't. The protagonists, Triona and Ronan, have known each other since they were children. This isn't one of those far-fetched, love-at-first-sight dramas. ...more

What reviewers are saying about: The Tangled Moon Saga
Lothar, Nick and Danielle are all really interesting characters and the strained relationship between them gives this series a solid foundation to work from. As is the norm with this author’s books, you know from the beginning that you are in for some serious surprises and she doesn’t let you down. There is plenty of action in this novel to kee
