The Tokyo Guide is packed with vital information for both first-time tourists and experienced business travelers. Written by journalists and writers living in the Japanese capital, this guide takes the lid off one of the most exciting and mysterious cities in the world, with a guide to Japanese food--what to eat and how to order it--walking tours of Tokyo's most vibrant districts, a thorough shopping guide, language survival tips, and a mini-guide to Yokohama, Japan's second city, thirty minutes away.
Buona guida con un'ampia panoramica della città e dei dintorni. Tuttavia, mappe non molto ampie e un aggiornamento risalente a 7 anni fa non mi permettono di dare più di tre stelle.
Generally I like the Time Out travel guides when I visit another country. Decent maps but more important good writers. Or writer. I am not sure if there is a whole bunch of people in Shibuya writing this guide in some weird Japaense coffee shop or not. But overall I pretty much trust them. They have an understanding of the culture and the recommended walking tours are always good as well.
My dream is to write my own Tokyo travel guide, and I almost did, but alas and with a sigh it didn't happen. Although the future is just seconds away...
We looked at a lot of travel books before our trip to Tokyo, but this was the one we ended up purchasing. Lots of great recommendations and helpful maps.
