Good book

Good for basic information

The book provides very basic information on the Nigerian breed. It is not a in-depth study on caring for goats. I did enjoy the book.

If you are considering raising alpacas or llamas, another alternative are Nigerian Dwarf Goats. They are easy to maintain due to their small stature.

David Taylor gives the novice detailed information of what is involved in raising them.

For example the goat milk they produce is sweet tasting and also ideal for making artisan cheeses. Feta anyone?

Even if you don't want to farm, these goats make great pets as they are very gentle and easy to train.

I like that the book is written for the beginner and wasn't overly technical.

That said, Nigerian Dwarf Goats Care is a treasure trove of insightful information.

Great introductory book!

This was a great introductory book about Nigerian dwarf goats. I'm preparing to take care of this breed of goats, so this gave a lot of useful information for someone who knows very little about caring for goats and livestock in general. The adorable pictures throughout was an added bonus!
