Eleven Days: An Unexpected Love
After the death of her beloved cousin, Lana Andrews has to get away to be alone, to grieve. She rents a quaint little beach house in Plymouth MA. Little does she know that she will meet that one special love—an unexpected love. That one love is Mike Ramsey, and he's a U.S. Marshal and the beach house owner. As their love grows, so do their troubles. Someone is stalking Lana, and Mike has to figure out who it is before he gets to her. Not only does he have to protect her, he must find the connection between them before it's too late. They soon find out this stalker desperately wants Lana, and he'll go to any lengths for that to happen. Mike's team finds out how desperate this man is when he starts murdering innocent people. Being a U.S. Marshal for years, he knows how to protect people. This time was different. This time, the client is someone he deeply loves. No matter what, he will do what it takes to protect his beautiful Lana. Once he finds out the name of the stalker—he is not so sure he can protect her.

I loved this book! I found it through a link to some free books. I love free books and this story looked pretty good.
I admit when I started to read this I thought it would be another quickly written love story that didn't hold much substance. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this book. I thought it was very well thought out and written. The author has enough central characters and support characters that you can keep up with them all. This isn't always the easiest to do. I don't know if the author has plans for this but I think that there could a spin off book or two. Yes, I know there are two more books but I know they center around the main character of this book, or at least I believe they do.
This book reignited a pretty long lull in my reading. I'm very glad I found it.

MIKE & LANA HOW SWEET AND ROMANTIC AND OH SO VERY SAD. STORY LINE KEEPS YA' GUESSING CAUSE ITS A 3 BOOK SERIES. I NORMALLY HATE READING SERIES AND DON'T LIKE STARTING ONE IF THEY ARE NOT STAND ALONE'S. THIS 1ST ONE ENDS IN A GIGANTIC CLIFF HANGER I'VE WRITTEN DOWN WHO I THINK IS BEHIND ALL THIS. I LOVE THE SUSPENSE AND I AM KEEPING A POSITIVE OUTLOOK, I KNOW EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE ALRIGHT . . . I JUST FEEL IT. ;Z

This book will bring you to tears, then hope, then back to tears and then finally to the urge for revenge for Lana.
Lana loses her best friend and cousin to an unexpected heart attack that leaves him brain dead. She struggles with acceptance of this loss and depression until finally agreeing with family members that maybe she needs a change of scenery. She decides to go to Plymouth, Mass to come to terms with the loss and ends up falling in love with the owner and landlord, Mike, of the beach house she has rented. When all of a sudden things start happening and Mike's cop instincts kick in along with his protective mode of Lana. An investigation ensues leading them on an adventure of sorts, ending with a surprising twist that gets discovered a little too late. Sending Mike and his team on a revenge and capture of the culperate.
Definitely need to get the rest of the book to see if they find him and what happens next.

I can't recall why I decided to get this free book since I don't like to read about murders/mysteries/investigations. Parts of the book were a little far fetched but the story was well written and moved fast. By the end of the book, I had no choice but to buy the 2nd book. The title of the 3rd book didn't grab my attention so I thought I'd stop after book 2. Tomorrow I'll start reading book 3 because even after the murders and the mystery, I have to find out how it all ends :)

What a wonderful book!!! I cried my eyes out. I can't believe this book was 99 cents. Amazon needs to push this writer. I agree with the other reviewers, there better be a sequel. If you want a good book with a great ending, this is the one. It is a fast read and I finished it in about 5 hours. I'm refering this to my friends.

What a nice unexpected surprise. I love the book, and it was nothing what I thought it would be. I almost didn't buy this book because I didn't know the writer. Now I'm glad I bought it. It wasn't perfectly written but I fell in love with the characters and plot. Well worth the money and I will buy more books from her. Be prepared to cry!!!!

Most Compelling! Thrilling and Tender. Love Story!
This will pull you into the swelling plot as you enjoy the characters' development. I couldn't put the book down. I am so caught up in the story. I need to continue with the story for I feel a part of the lives of the characters. On a scale of one to ten this is a 10+.

This book is wonderful! After the death of her beloved cousin Lana Andrews rents a house on the coast of Massachusetts to deal with her grief. She did not expected to find Mike Ramsey, a Federal Marshal, and she certainly did not expect to discover she was a hit man's next target. This is the first book in an action packed trilogy.

Best romantic, funny, tragic story I have read so far. The ending was so sad and tragic that I couldnt stop crying it was very emotional. I loved this book and cant wait to read the next book. This is a must read!

Best trilogy I've ever read. The books grab you right from page 1. I couldn't put these books down until I was done. The story brings out all your emotions: happy, sad, scared, nervous, etc. At some points you will cry until you can't cry any more. A very very good read.

If you don't like cliffhanger endings.... this book is not for you. I personlly love a cliffhanger ending once in awhile.

Can't wait for the next book. Great piece of mystery with a heart. A rare find in a mystery novel but the suspense keeps you reading until the last word.

Eleven Days was a strange read for me. The writing style was...I am not sure. For the first couple of chapters I couldn't help but read it in the Twilight Zone voice over voice. "Take the case of Lana Andrews. She was this, she did that, she is doing this." I don't know why, but I couldn't help but feel like it was a very rigid narrator voicing what is going on. So it was an odd read.
Then the dialogue and thoughts and such I was just like what is going on? This is not how people speak, and who thinks this? Lana was just so....are there actually real people who are like her? Like the time when she is driving in the car with Mike and she decides to tell him she doesn't like seafood, even though she knows he does. It was like this whole big deal thing, and then once she told him she was all I shouldn't have done that! What did I do? I should have just kept my mouth shut. I mean why tell the guy who I am supposedly in love with my likes and dislikes? He doesn't need to know.
"She regretted telling him about her dislikes, she was afraid he might go someplace different just for her."
Yes, because that would be horrible if he went somewhere where she could eat something she likes as well...what a rough life. On that matter whenever food came up again it was like well she doesn't like Seafood so she must want chicken. Like it is the only other option if you don't eat seafood. It was just strange.
There were many strange scenes in the book. There was a moment when Lana was sarcastic, and then immediately regretted joking around with him. I mean "it was inappropriate of her to utter any words of negativity." Okay, well then I guess I am inappropriate all the time since I love sarcasm. Or when Lana is all concerned about the other cops knowing she was sleeping with Mike when someone was watching. She is there when someone asks about it and Mike just says they were intimate. She was so relieved because he didn't mention details. It was just like what? You expected him to say well first we started here and did this, then we did this for 2 min, then I moved on to doing this. I mean really. Who would do that? It was just so strange.
Mike isn't immune from the strange way of thinking either. I think the most what moment was before Lana knew what he did for a living. She jokes about how she thought he might be a drug dealer and he replies that he is one.
"'I'm a federal agent with the U.S. Marshals, and I arrest drug dealers. So I guess you could call me a drug dealer.'"
What? You arrest drug dealers so you are a drug dealer? Do you know what drug dealers do? It was just one example of the strange conversations that were throughout this book. It was so not good. The intimate parts, the love part, were so sappy and not good. I almost did not make it through this book. It was so over the top and not good. I almost stopped after every chapter, but I told myself I would give it 50%. It was a struggle to get there, but then the book turned into more of a thriller. More of a who is after Lana and what is going to happen. That part was much better than the love part, but still strange for me. What a nice surprise, and only a buck. This story combines romance and suspense and a surprise ending. I loved it. I will buy another book from her. Stop here if you don't want to know about the story. Lana's cousin dies and she needs to get away so she rents a beach house in Plymouth, MA. The beach house owner is a U.S. Marshal and his name is Mike Ramsey and they fall in love. While they fall in love he has a deputy killed in the line of duty, and he's also having to deal with someone stalking Lana. The stalker will stop at nothing to get to her, even murder. Once the stalker does something disgusting (you will have to read to find out what) Mike decides to call in his team. They get down to business and investigate. The investigation leads them through twists and turns, and a surprise ending. I will admit I didn't like the ending, but I loved the ending, if that makes any sense.
I think that is why I liked the book is because it isn't all romance or all suspense. It is an easy read of only 6 hours (I'm a fast reader). If you like a lot of cussing or down and dirty sex, this book is NOT for you. She was very tasteful in the one sex scene and I don't remember any fowl language, but there might be one or two words.

The dialogue, at times, was way too corny! I don't know too many real people who have conversations like this.
I did like the story line though and will continue read the next book to find out what happens next.

I just finished this awesome book, I am still crying. If you like a tear jerker you will love this book. OMG. I do hope there is a sequel. I will buy the next. I loved it, loved it.

The story starts with one heck of an emotional thump: Sharon's husband, James,is declared 'brain dead' and the doctor is arranging to switch off life support. Fair enough - I am expecting a story about Sharon's struggle to deal with the tragedy, maybe some slow-developing love story, some serious angst...
BUT instead I get Lana, the cousin of the dead man, who seems to actually be more concerned about James than Sharon! It is Lana who holds James's hand while the machines are switched off. There was something rather unsavoury in a way about her behaviour, as if she was the wife, or perhaps a secret lover?
And then the story follows Lana as she suffers from depression in the weeks after James's death. (err.. what about the wife???) And then she decides to go away for a break.
The writing is random in places. e.g: She is pestered by a man at the airport, but instead of it being pertinent to the plot, it seems to be just a way to dump some info about Boston. A very clunky scene.
There were some parts that didn't make sense: She knew it was Mike's truck, and although she never met the man, she knew he looked like a ship's captain - a gruff-looking man who was short, chubby and grumpy.
HOW did she know it was his truck? And HOW did she know what he looked like? She has never met the man!!
And then she sees him and .....
.. he was every bit of six-foot-four with salt and pepper hair, mostly pepper, piercing sky-blue eyes, and a smile that would brighten any gloomy day. He was in excellent shape with no chubby tummy on him. err... WTF??
Lana came across as a shallow, vapid teenager instead of a mature woman of 46, mourning the loss of her cousin. At one point she hears about the death of a local Marshal, and ...
How sad, I hope he's okay, she thought. She surfed through more channels and stopped on the movie Gone with The Wind on TNT. She couldn't resist one of her favourite oldies.
As I said. Shallow.
The writing is ponderous in places and there are far too many 'product placements' for my liking. I don't need to know that someone is wearing Christian Dior and Dockers.

She wondered if it's the oldest lighthouse in Plymouth.
As the wind blew, it's howling sounded spooky - like wolves scratching.
I finally gave up at this point: Sexually aroused, Lana adjusted herself on the bed to get a better look at him.
No. That is SO wrong on SO many levels.

I have mixed feelings about this book. On the one hand it is very poorly written, on the other I want to know just why someone is trying to kill Lana. I almost quit before I finished the first chapter because the writing is so bad. The author does not know how to tell a story. This is not a good quality in an author. Weird things come out of the brains and mouths of her protagonists. It is enough to make you stick a pin in your eye. Fortunately, there is a story amongst all this weirdness. I am not sure yet if it is a good story.

I don't even know where to begin. There was so much missed in editing that I took a hi-liter and started marking it up. It got a little better, but not much in subsequent volumes.
The story had great potential but just never came through for me. Sometimes too much detail was given which made the scenario implausible, other times not enough was given and I felt stumped.
Grammar and punctuation are very important. I had a difficult time reading for content when I was continually catching editing errors.

I liked this book. The dialogue was a bit stilted in a couple of places and there were a couple of places where the grammar was incorrect (coincident instead of coincidence) but overall was a good read.
That said, I do NOT like how it ended. I don't MIND where the storyline was going - although not my first choice - but we were left hanging. Just a "you're not gonna like what I have to say" and that's it. It almost felt like my book was cut off, it was so abrupt, and then there were just samples of upcoming stories, but nothing - no mention of the end of the story, etc. There were too many things left incomplete and I don't like that. It didn't need to be wrapped up in a pretty little bow, as I know that's not going to happen, but finish it up - close the loop and tell us about the rest.

A nice story of a gal from Tennessee, getting out of town following the death of her cousin. She is divorced and not looking. She rents a house by the beach up in Massachusetts. The guy who owns the beach house is a widower, and they become smitten in short time. I enjoyed the tale!

I love love stories and sad stories but the ending to this book was not what I expected and I didn't even want to finish it but had to to make sure I was reading it correctly. I won't say more just in case someone wants to read it. I disliked it so much I can't even finish the rest of the series. I am not one to bad mouth a book but this was just uncalled for and not sure the reasoning the Author had. I am glad that I did not pay money for the book.

This was a cute love story. It is one of those books you don't won't to put down. Not real happy with the ending, I think there may be a twist coming, that things are not what they seem, at least I hope so. Can't wait for the next book.

I was sure what to expect since this author was new to me but wow I loved this book for the first few chapters if you haven't read this it's a must mike and Lana met and fall in love and then boom stuff starts happening oh what a cliffhanger but so good
