Alex Anderson books are great for beginners and to reread for a refresher. They are easy to read, understand, and you have a finished quilt in a fairly short time. She gives great advice and wonderful pictures.

This book was my introduction to the incredible world of Quilting. It was the required text for the class I took at my local quiltshop, taught by quilter and author Eva A. Larkin.

I cannot recommend this book enough for anyone who wants to learn how to quilt. The instructions are clear, with complete supply lists, and plenty of illustrations and photographs.

While I have only made the Rail Fence Quilt from this book, I can safely say that no quilter should be without this! There are newer editions

Excellent learn to quilt book. Concise, easy to understand, lots of great pictures that make it easy to understand how to cut up fabric and sew it together.

This is the foundation I use when teaching new students to quilting. I do use some updated techniques verses the directions in this book, but for a new quilter this is a great book to start with.
