Couldn't warm up to the shallow heroine. All she thought about was her bad sex life with her ex husband. Talk about zero character depth.

Just couldn't get into this one.

I read this book since I need the picture on the cover to complete one of my reading challenges otherwise I would not have read it.
I find Harlequin Presents are often hit or miss. They often have a "hero", if we can call them that, they authors try to make "alpha-males" but more often than not are just a$$holes and that's what we have in this book.

The heroine starts off at their first meeting by apologizing for an incident that happened in their past. Of course the hero won't accept the apolog

Cruz Rodriguez was the top polo player in the world who gave it up and became a ruthless investor. However, before all that, he was a stable boy in Aspen Carmichael's grandfather's stable until they were caught one night by her grandfather and he was fired. Convinced that Aspen set him up, Cruz has vowed revenge and now he has a chance to extract it by buying her home out from under her. When Aspen appeals to him to loan her money herself so she can purchase the farm from her uncle, Cruz sees an ...more

I wasn't feeling the chemistry and the issues were just misconceptions and miscommunications. Since that was the case, when Aspen explained what happened, Cruz didn't have a leg to stand on and caved quite easily. He wasn't the stereotypical male usually found in harlequin romance. He also admitted love rather easily, while there's nothing wrong with that, it wasn't hard won on either side. The title doesn't really fit either because Cruz didn't even follow through on the deal.

Michelle Conder is a fabulous writer and as her previous books have shown, she knows how to hook the readers on to the story from the first page. The Most Expensive Lie of All has a story based on misunderstandings which get cleared up throughout the story. I liked how there was a nice interlinking of the past and the present.Read More

I loved this book. I received this book on a goodreads giveaway. And I am really impressed with this author. I loved that it was a quick read , and that her imagination shines through her writing.

Thanks again for the autograph as well!

Cheers!

This as an enjoyable quick read. I didn't really connect with the characters but the story was well written. It was irritating how she kept going back and thinking about her ex-husband. I was glad to see the there was a HEA.

It was okay, I didn't really feel the passion or anything between hero and heroine. It was a jump to conclusions and leave it for years to fester until it finally unravels and they learn the truth novel.

I really enjoyed Cruz and Aspen's story. I love Michelle's voice and her heroines are always strong. Cruz was darkly delicious and the heat between them was tangible..
