A new year and a new family of Fortunes to hang out with. It starts with the wedding of Sawyer Fortune and Laurel Redmond from Change of Fortune, the last book in the previous series. Both Stacy and Colton are at the wedding. Stacy is his little sister's best friend, he feels that he has no business noticing how she's changed. At the same time, Stacy had never before thought of Colton as more than a brother-type figure, but suddenly she's noticing how sexy he is. As they start to get to know eac ...more

When I start reading a book and discover it’s about a single, unmarried mother, I have a pretty good idea of what’s to follow. I couldn’t have been more wrong in the case of Happy New Year, Baby Fortune! The novel is not unrealistic. There are those who side with the absentee father, and those who take pleasure in reminding Stacey how she couldn’t “keep her man,” but overall, her family and friends are supportive. Piper, Stacey’s daughter, is adorable,
Not going to lie, but this book drove me up the wall. I knew reading the description (and the fact that it was Harlequin) that it was going to be a cheesy romance, but sometimes you need that in your life. And there was a baby. Nothing I love more than a strong man with a baby, especially when said boy is a cowboy. But this…this was just hard to get through.

Single mom, Stacey Fortune Jones, is ready to ring in the new year, even if things aren’t going exactly the way she planned. Her fiancé left her at the alter when he found out she was having his baby and she’s left raising their child on her own. Fortunately, she has the loving support of her parents and her brothers, not to mention her best friend Rachel as well as Rachel's handsome brother, Colton.

Rancher Colton Foster is trying very hard not to be interested in Stacey. Everyone, even his own

Banks’s book is the first in a new six-book continuity series for Harlequin Special Edition. The series tells the story of the Fortune family. Adopted at birth, Jeanne Jones, Stacey’s mother, finds her birth family the Fortunes. Highly successful, the Fortunes welcome Jeanne and her family with open arms. However, not all the Jones siblings are as welcoming of the new family. There is some resentment of the affluences the Fortunes enjoyed growing up that the Joneses did not. Nice Read

Not what I really expected, but still a nice read.I had to keep guessing about who would get the girl in the end though.

Happy New Year, Baby Fortune was a short and sweet contemporary romance and I really enjoyed it.

Stacey, is a single mother who has moved back in with her parents in Horseback Hollow so she can have some support in raising her child. Her ex-fiance just up and left her when he found out she was pregnant. Stacey is young but she acts a lot older than her years because of the responsibility of her baby, Piper. She hates depending on her parents for help but she knows it’s the best thing for the two

Happy New Year, Baby Fortune! is a sweet, Harlequin romance about a single mom and her best friend's brother. Stacey Fortune Jones was left by her fiance and child's father, Joe, before giving birth. Colton Foster is her best friend's big brother and her neighbor. Colton was also Joe's friend until he skipped out on Stacey. Colton feels somewhat responsible for what happened because he encouraged Joe to get more serious with Stacey. Now, Stacey is working hard to take care of her daughter, Piper ...more

Hott Synopsis:

Ditched by her fiance when he found she was pregnant, Stacey has spent the last year focusing only on her daughter. At least, until she starts noticing the neighbor in more than a brotherly way. Focus, Stacey, focus — he’s just a friend.
Colton can’t believe the changes in Stacey since she became a mom. She’s got curves in all the right places. She’s a sweetheart. She’s no longer got that bounce in her step or the giggle in her voice. Colton knows he needs to do something but… can h

I have read some of the Fortune books but have missed the one where Jeanne Marie Fortune Jones was found and reunited with her brother and sister. This story is about Jeanne Marie's only daughter Stacey.

I liked the characters but would have like to know more about them. It not a deep book but a shorter book. I liked how Colton was scared of Piper. But even while scared he helped out with the baby when their was a need to. Colton grew fast liking Piper.
I admit to really liking the scene wh

A new year and a new baby... sounds like a great start for Stacy Fortune Jones. But when you've been dumped by your fiancé and are raising a baby alone, it's less than ideal. This is the latest in a series about Horseback Hollow, Texas so in the initial chapters we - and baby Piper - meet many characters from previous books. After that however the main characters take over the tale and a new reader will be fine.

Colton Foster, working on his folks' ranch, has known Stacy most of her life; he and

What a great way to start off the New Year - with a sweet romance that is filled with humor, a little drama, and a lot of love.

I have to admit, I jumped into this novel without prior knowledge of the series, "The Fortunes of Texas," so I was at a little disadvantage as to the back story of the Fortune family. But the author quickly caught me up with enough of the backstory to understand the history and prior stories to enjoy this installment.

The characters are very warm and personable, I and re

This book was very fluffy. It was a quick read with fairly superficial conflict. There is the typical romance novel wavering and miscommunication, lots of overreacting to implied or imagined feelings, and passionate, clothes-ripping sex. I did enjoy the characters: Stacey is a little more three-dimensional that other female protagonists, and I very much liked Colton. It was nice to have a male protagonist who wasn't a "bad boy who wasn't looking for anyth

Perhaps I have been on too long of a holiday romance binge to enjoy this title to its fullest potential. The story was average -- enjoyable but quite predictable. It was as advertised and what one looks for in happy, feel-good escapist romance fiction, but there was nothing overly memorable about it.

I won't likely actively seek out other titles by Banks, but I won't actively avoid them either.

Literally by the end of chapter one, I was cheering out loud for Colton. Leanne Banks portrays him as a loyal, humble leading man. You want him to succeed, because then you know Stacey also wins! I love in chapter 6 when Stacey faces struggles, that are so familiar to so many of us! It really connected me to the characters.

I highly recommend this as the continuation of the Fortunes or also as a stand alone love story!!!

This book was HILARIOUS. I loved, loved, loved it. I was laughing out loud and people were starting to stare. But it was so darn good. The scenes with Piper and Colton were the best. Always awesome when a baby can bring a big tough dude to his knees. I felt like I could totally relate to both Stacey and Colton, they were very "real." Just a sweet, funny read. Cannot say enough good things about this book.

The story and characters in Happy New Year Baby Fortune just never caught me. Leanne Banks used several popular tropes. They are popular because the usually work. They should have. The characters were well drawn, the plot well thought out but I just never felt the emotion that I expected. I think the less said the better so let me just finish with I was disappointed in the book.

"Banks' Fortunes of Texas series installment is a sweet and heartrending romance starring a brave couple and the cutest little bundle of joy. Stacy and Colton overcome an obstacle course of rumors and small-town meddling to reach a happy ending, and the heat between them will warm the coldest January night (RT Book Reviews)". 4 stars

This never really caught fire for me. Part of the problem was that even though it was a new series, it also continued from a previous series, and I spent (too much) time trying to remember how it fit in. I would have liked some of the supporting characters to have been more fleshed out.

Another installment in the Fortune family sage set in Texas. Stacy and her new baby Piper move back home after her boyfriend dumps her. Long time friend and neighbor, Colton helps welcome her home. A love story that's a quick read, revisiting several previous couples from the earlier books.

I found the dialogue too stilted and the random character POVs were distracting. It was also difficult to keep track of all the secondary characters.
