I read parts of Edward Said Routledge Critical Thinkers with the (naive) intention of finding an accessible comparative analysis of structuralism and post-structuralism. I found Ashcroft and Ahluwalia's approach on this matter clear and concise. The authors present the relevant theory, show how Said's own work evolved from previous thinkers', and cut the inherent dryness of the text with well-chosen and short examples.
