Penny Wilmot leads a simple life. Together with her widowed father and best friend Boone they run a small U-Pick farm. She never asked for much, and certainly wasn't looking for him...

Jackson Hawkes lives his life at one steady speed: fast. On a mission to find his father, he takes a road trip and ends up finding himself with a new band, a new job and a new dream.

Okay so after some thought I decided to rate this book::

High 3.80 stars

There is one word to describe this book: CUTE
E.A Whithead did a good job in telling a story, there was quite a few grammatical errors that I had to look by but for the most part it was good. The writing was so different for me, I'm not sure if that was a good or bad thing/ It took me slower to read some sentences because I had no idea what they were talking about, I couldn't speed read like I normally do and I caught myse

Thanks to the author and SMI Promotions, I was allowed to read an ARC of this book for an honest review. This is a debut novel so I was very interested to see what it was like. I will admit that when I first started the book, I was uncertain my thoughts on it. The progression seemed a little slow so I was thinking that maybe it might not be something I was interested in. I stuck with it and within a few chapters, I wanted to keep reading to see where it lead.

This is a sweet story about two young

I received a signed paperback copy of this book from the author through First Reads, and here is my review.

I generally liked this story. There were three things, however, that I didn't care for. The first being that the writing was a little awkward. The second was that in my opinion the characters in this story fit in better with high school as far as their personalities and maturity levels went, even though they were college age. The third was that I think the "southern" aspect was pushed a lit

Thank God for all the steamy scenes to distract me from my constant fear of Jackson and Penny losing one another! I feverishly plowed through this book in two short sittings.

My rating: 4 of 5 ⭐

Three years ago Penny Wilmot and her father suffered a great loss as a result of an accident. It is not something she talks about. Deciding to have spent enough time hiding out on the U-pick farm she runs with her father and her best friend Boone, she heads out for a night on the town with her wild and crazy friend Darla.

After the death of his mother, Jackson Hawkes promised himself two things, he would follow his dream - to make music

I enjoyed this book so damn much! Jackson I loved his fine southern a** right off, "a delicious looking woman standing in front of me." His words dripped and I fought the urge to let my mouth drop." And his mind is something out of this world, "she's pi**ed at me. Eff , shes hot when she's pi**ed. The way her lips stretched to a flat line." I mean I died laughing at his thoughts, "when I turned around and she was walking back to her car. He backside held that perfect curve, the really round kind ...more

As much as I hate to do this, I had to label this DNF.

I trudged through until I hit 52%, and I just couldn't do it anymore. I was struggling to get through every single page. I'm not going to write a full review, because I don't feel that's fair to the author since I didn't finish the book. I'm just going to give y'all a few reasons why I didn't enjoy it enough to make it to the end:

♦ I couldn't connect with Penny and Jackson -- or any of the charac

Okay, one word to describe this book: SWEET! This is a quick read with a story of young love, trust, and finding where you really belong in the world.

Jackson is the super-hunky, sweet, southern boy, and musician. He really is the total package of southern sexiness. They are both young, but Jackson has already finished college and Penny has taken a break from college. They meet one night and spend the summ

I immediately loved this book. I really enjoyed Penny's character. She was so spunky and awesome! Where do I start with Jackson? He's a sexy southern guy with a great voice and such charm. They fell for each at first sight but Penny wanted nothing to do with poor Jackson! She had a Feisty attitude which made me laugh and like her more because I can relate to her. This book was filled with hot sex scenes and some

Hey a nice light read I actually enjoyed and I didn't hate the heroine. Ok lying at one point I wanted to smack her up, but that was quick. Not bad. She's got a fun sense of humor, loves to box, big daddy's girl and simply needed someone like Jackson. I like me some Jackson. He's kinda kinky. Cookie Monster too. Jackson has so much in common with Penny it's exactly what they both needed in their lives. They can relate to their pasta and help heal each other. Great characters and a vey nice flow ...more

E.A. Whitehead book Alabama Sons gave us a very sweet story about that moment when you meet "the one." When you just know. Penny and Jackson's story is sweet, sassy and sometimes sad. I enjoyed watching their relationship develop. I liked getting to know their friends. I was glad that it wasn't predictable. Alabama Sons had heart, humor, music, friendsip, loss... It was really really good, and I am excited that there are more to come in this great series!!!!

Love this cute story! You got Penny she sees Jackons at a bar with her friends Darla and Boone. She thinks Jackson has slept with Darla so she wants none of that. Jackson is looking for his daddy to connect with. This story was cute and sexy. Who doesn't love southern charm?? I love the characters and the quirkiness of them all, something about being 20 again... makes me wanna go back! I give my Bama boys 5 stars! ~ Chris

A sweet story, with some naughtiness, of young love, forgiveness, and moving on. A perfect first novel. Cannot wait to see what this author has in store for these characters.

E.A. Whitehead is the author of Alabama Sons, book one of The Sons Trilogy. She spends an unhealthy amount of time ‘pinning’ things and getting lost in a fantasy world where everything is DIY and she owns a 12-room house to decorate. She obsesses over hockey (go Bruins!), all things Harry Potter, and her cats Little Bear and Baby Girl. She also believes that Wanderlust will cure your soul, live yo ...more
