DISCLAIMER: I read only through chapters 1-3. Read the rest of the review to find out why.

This is by far the single WORST free kindle book I've ever downloaded from Amazon. When purchasing free books I've learned to lower my expectations; this book hit an all-time low. Not only is there ZERO plot in the first three chapters, two of them are spent in the most confusing and repetitive sex scene I've ever read. The author re-uses a few words so often, I started highlighting them. The totals are below. There are more repeated words; these were just the worst offenders. I've included the locations of each word's appearance as well.

Smirk (which is used incorrectly every time): locations 78, 95, 122, 127, 302.
Sinuous (includes forms like sinuously): locations 81, 124, 145, 203, 251.
Supple: locations 123, 162, 162 (again), 170, 188, 207, 256.
Rumble (also overused: growl, which I did not track): locations 83, 105, 182.
Sultry: locations 101, 128, 270, 285, 299
Essence (often used incorrectly): locations176, 188, 203, 204, 218, 219, 227, 229, 243, 294.

In addition to the oft-used words above, the author includes some horrifyingly inappropriate similes throughout the first three chapters to describe the desire between these two. Here are just a few gems:

~The sinuous roll of his gait was like a hungry wolf stalking its prey.
~... through his body like vibrations of ocean waves crashing over the fear that once resided inside his chest.
~ Her internal fire erupted from smoldering embers to bonfire in those first few moments. (sic)
~His sheer size ate up the room, shielding her like a soldier ready to take a bullet for her.
~Her breath hitched, as burning desire poured off her like waves of lava.
~Licking her lips like a lioness ready to feed...
~... as he dipped a finger into her inferno depths.
~Her heart tripped over itself as it raced with the speed of a thoroughbred running at the Kentucky Derby.
~... his fingers pumped in and our like pistons on a race car.
~His body was rigid as rebar...
~...smoldering liquid heat swaddle him like a wet, tight hug...
~ ... he kept thrusting into her like a piston on a Japanese bullet train.

Finally, the book is riddled with typos, missing punctuation, poor sentence construction and confusing and contradicting imagery. I know the book has received positive reviews here and elsewhere, but the other reviewers were clearly not reading this book. At least one of the Amazon reviewers is thanked as a friend in the dedication (Jenna Pizzi) - it makes me think that the author had her friends give 5-star reviews to boost its standing. Please do not be fooled - THIS BOOK IS TERRIBLE. I don't recommend reading it unless you are playing a drinking game where you get to do shots every time the word "essence" appears.

"He was her only cure, the antidote to a poison her body harnessed."

The Last Kiss was a sad emotional read, two people who loved each other kept apart by fear or rejection, from their hatred of themselves and duty to their country. Raeve and Aidan are reunited for a short period, until he is redeployed for a two year secret mission with no chance of communication. Raeve and Aidan are forced to face their past as they try and come to terms with their feelings for each other.
"…time wasn’t their friend and their past consumed too much of their time together already."

There is no mistake that they love each other dearly, is it accepting that love and having it be enough to get them through this upcoming dark time. Aidan knows he is in no position to make any promises, but he can show her that now she is the most important thing in his life. For so long he had to watch her suffer, unable to do anything about it for one she wouldn’t let him and two he was so far away.
“What I see when I look at you,” he purred, his deep penetrating voice vibrated in the air, lingering between them, “is the only woman who has ever broken my heart and healed it. I see a beautiful woman who cares for so many, but denies being taken care of herself.”

The pages were filled with every single emotion they possible felt and at times I felt it was a bit too much, but I accepted it for what it was. Highly emotionally erotic, they speak more with their bodies than they do with their words. I really felt sad for most of the book, and makes me appreciate all the sacrifices that people go through when they have a loved one serving the country. It makes you rethink everything you take for granted. I'm not a big fan of feeling sad when I read but it did make me root harder for their HEA!

Oh man this book was amazing! I loved the wording M.R. used to make each scene that much moree memorable and inticing! The characters were amazing as well, loved Aiden, he was so sexy and just...damn...*sighs*! Raeve was a strong willed and fiercly independent woman who I enjoyed from start to finish. Aiden and her are perfect for one another and are a wonderful pair. I really enjoyed reading their story and getting to know them! This story is now the third book that I have read that made me cry, oh but it was well worth the tears. If you have not read this book you really should it is an emotionally sweet read that is sexy as sin and will hit home to anyone who serves in the military or has a loved one who serves in the military. This is a book that I will read over again and continously recommend to others. Absolutly wonderful read! "Always until eternity"~Raeve and Aiden

The passion between Raeve and Aidan pulled me in from the start and never released me. This is for adults only! Finally a real man who knows to treat a woman like a woman. Finally a real woman who knows what she want and won't settle for less. I never wanted it to end. Oh I am a fan you better believe it!

Recommend: Adults Only (Put the kids to bed before reading this one!)

This book is one that melts your heart it’s truly beautiful love story that will make you smile, cry and make you smile some more.
The emotion this couple go through just pours of the pages and are so well written and I have to say the sex scenes are written beautifully to.
Aidan and Raeve take years to finally confess they have feelings for each other but with Aidan going back to base they don't think they can make it work. But with letters and phone calls and visits they try, but then throw in some jealous gossiping women Raeve breaks Aidan’s heart. I have to say I just loved Aidan he plays the Alpha well and he never stopped Loving Raeve and was even there when Raeve went through some pretty horrific times.
I really couldn't put this book down and I’m so so glad they got a chance of second love and Phew those sex scenes well I’m still fanning myself now.
And I loved loved that the Author made us wait till the last few pages not only to bring a tear to my eye but for that heart wrenching HEA.

The Last Kiss by M.R. Murphy is a beguiling love story. Raeve and Aiden find each other, fall in love only to be torn apart by circumstances beyond their control. Raeve is a woman who never thought much of herself, she continued on with her life only for it to be full of hurt the kind that is hard to come back from. Finally she is able to rid herself of the evil that has tried to destroy her life. She again finds herself in the strong comforting arms of Aiden, but will it last? This beautiful story just goes to show that a love by two people who go in different directions can reconnect once again. This story made me cry, made me angry which are all emotions made to come alive from a great story teller. M.R. Murphy is an author to keep an eye on in the future.

Raeve thinks so little of herself she can’t believe that popular ladies’ man Aidan could possibly want her and only her, after all there are women vying for him who are far prettier than her or so she thinks. Little does she know as far as Aidan is concerned she's the one for him. Just when he begins to think things are going his way, at long last, Raeve inexplicably dumps him. It's a decision that will have far reaching consequences for them both.

Raeve was so real. Most of us would probably identify with her at some point in our lives regretting decisions in hindsight but believing it too late to make amends. Aidan never gave up on her even when she gave up on them. Aidan was sigh worthy.

Such a descriptive, wonderfully told love story (some of the words I suspect have been borrowed from historical romance - as if I cared - I'm just sayin').

Yes there are lots of explicit sex scenes and the occasional F bomb dropped but you can feel the longing of words yet to be spoken as they try desperately to find their way back to each other any way they can. Aidan serves in the army and he's counting down in mere days a two year deployment which adds that bittersweet irony and urgency after they've just found each other again. You couldn't help but root for them to get their HEA in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds.

Personally I don't like ten year gaps between second chances, too long in my view but like I say, its a personal preference.

Great read.

Very well played!, September 22, 2013
*For mature audiences only
The Last Kiss is a great read! For those of you who are looking for the heat ... this immediately got to the hot & steamy, but it did not stop there. I will warn you that I am not much of the erotica reader, so I was pleasantly surprised when Murphy's talent for character development quickly stole my attention. This story has the depth that I crave when picking up a book.
Raeve & Aidan bring their story to us in a very real way. You will feel what they feel, ache where they ache, & relish in the joy of their truths unfolded. The painful past & abusive relationship Raeve endured simply ensured that I would long for her happiness that much more, & Aidan, the forever hero, brings out a whole other side of her. This wonderful bond that they have is only magnified by their lustful escapades. And...aaaargh...that ending! It could not have been better played! I look forward to reading more of this author's work!

This book brings the reader through a whole lot of emotions.
I found this story had a hell of a lot of sex in it...a hot male & a gorgeous female, Of course I ain't complaining. I loved it:)
I'm not giving much away with the storyline except to say its a bittersweet love story.

If your looking for a nighttime book then I recommend this :)

Just an awful, AWFUL book!! Not worth the time it took to read it...What was this writer thinking??? Giving this story a 1 star rating is being generous… I don’t normally post alot of reviews, but this one was SOOO bad I just had to share and hopefully spare other readers. This book (kindle version) was purchased for me as a birthday gift and I was soooo excited to read it as it looked extremely promising and just MY kind of read!! Well, much to my chagrin, this story turned out to be trite garbage, with sickeningly sweet euphemisms that made me want to poor bleach onto my eyeballs before I was even half way through the first chapter! This book is truly a cliché of every badly contrived, badly written trash romance novel ever put to page. The entire story is made up of poorly constructed analogies with bad grammar running amuck and characters and settings you couldn’t care less about, all set in an un-imaginative story line with a , not surprisingly, oh –so- predictable conclusion. Yes, I actually finished it, out of morbid curiosity and the hope that I just HAD to be missing something, I finished it, and was not even once pleasantly surprised… And for the “coup de gras”, as if it wasn’t bad enough already.. The use of big, flowery words that the writer obviously thought looked good on the page but clearly did not know the definitions, context or proper spelling of. Does this writer even own a dictionary?? If so then blow the dust off of it baby and USE IT!!!
And the editor may want to reconsider quitting her “day job”. Just terrible. No doubt this work is self published, because no reputable publishing house would have touched it. So kids, the moral of this story is: READER BEWARE, as not ALL that glitters is, in fact, gold. So spare yourselves fellow readers.. This one's a clinker

I found this book difficult to get through. I don't mind reading a book that switches from her point of view to his point of view but if that's what you're going to do then keep the story moving forward. Repeating the same history from one pov to another came across as boring and I found myself wanting to skip/skim through a lot. Then of course where the story takes you had me finding Raeve, the lead female, to be annoying with all of her self doubt & the ending was super anti climatic. Sorry, I found the over all story dull but hopefully other books by this author will be better.

Great quick read by M.R. Murphy. The storyline was solid and well written. The only thing I didn't like was the falshbacks, and that's just because I like to stay in the present when reading a book....so this was just a personal preference. The characters were great with depth and emotion. Loved that there wasn't a cliffhanger at the end just a happy ending!! All in all a pretty great read!!

I like this book. I was touching and gave you an insight to trials of loving someone in the military and the tough decisions that people face when they are faced with being diploid. I just wished the ending was better then it was. Over all it was a good read.
