These two authors, Florence and Susan, did an amazing job of putting their story out there for all the world to read - and to encourage each of us to be healthy and happy, and to be the best we can be. Their journey is an inspiration to us all. The book is an emotional read, but graced with humor and healthy habits we should incorporate into our daily lives. 100 Perks is inspiring and a true testimony to what we can achieve through education, faith and optimism.

It is a book everyone should read

Disclaimer: I received this book free from Smith Publicity -- Basic Health Publications in exchange for an honest review. I did not receive any form of compensation.

Having been recently diagnosed, I started looking for books that might help me to get a grasp on what I am going through and what to expect. This book not only did that but it also brought a much needed smile to my face. I absolutely loved all the humor that the authors instilled into this book. They had both gone through this and kn

Twenty-one years ago this August my father died of lung cancer. My step-father has battled with prostate cancer. An uncle with prostate cancer. My sister-in-law's mother. A dear friend with breast cancer which has now spread. This friend has battled valiantly and cheerfully, beating all odds predicted. I remember years ago, maybe twenty five or so, I didn't know anyone with cancer. Now I have had and do have people close to me battling the disease so when the book 100 Perks of Having Cancer came ...more

Written by two cancer warriors/survivors, each short chapter shares a personal, memoirish "Perk" by psychologist Flo, and an informative health tip by nurse Susan.

In the sense that nobody wants to be reading about cancer for fun and giggles, it's not a fun book, but the tone is chatty and light and filled with humor. So if you MUST read about cancer, for yourself or a loved one, this is an excellent book to add to your library. Although both authors are breast cancer survivors, it's not ALL abou

I am an ovarian cancer survivor and was not sure how there could possibly be 100 perks of having cancer. With my cancer I came away from being more appreciative of each moment of every day, and grateful for the new people in my life. The authors do share such perks of dietary information, benefit of baldness, beauty of caregivers, and many more. There is humor, insight, and thought-provoking statements.
I recommend this book for anyone facing cancer, and those who love them.
