You know that friend of yours on facebook which keep exposing pictures of amazing trips around the world, fancy restaurants, rich brand clothing and shoes, parties, achievements and, apparently, is always around beautiful wealthy people, including his/her partner? This is "Lily Ross" in the #4 book of The Billionaire's seduction serie.
Until the 3 first books I was happy for Lily... but, really girl! I got it you won the lotto. Now give me some story development, here!
Connor is just too good to be real, even for a fictional character. I was half expecting the author make a joke and Lily wake up in her room, late to go to work. But that doesn't happened.
Connor, on other hand, is a very plain character so far: billionaire, he's used to spend money like water in a open faucet, too beautiful, too skilful in and out of the bed. And... Oh, of course! He doesn't get along with his terrible family. Oh, boy! The reason for Connor loathe his father and his business empire, left me like this:
Follow reaction:
And, then, this:
His words: “Poor little rich boy, right? Rich people problems.”
Let's not forget his gaudy plan to rule the world PLUS ruin his father's business PLUS win a Nobel prize. Sounds a lot like Pinky and the Brain. Lily would played Pinky, probably!
So, until 78% of the book, I was so bored that I almost DNF. But the sequel of booty call/Lamborghini/Outdoor made me rethink. Well done, author!! wink, wink
Overall, no surprises at the ending. Usually I would drop the serie by now, but there's something in the way that author put the words together that keep my faith on this. I can't help, but if this serie turns out to be one more predictable story, I'll be very disappointed... :(
Let's see the next book! Fingers crossed.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
I'm sorry. I hate to rate it under 4 stars, because I was waiting for this sequel and I really enjoyed the previous books. I tried to like it, but I didn’t like it as much as the first 3 books. The most disappointed thing about this part was Lily. The story wasn’t from the very beginning something new, something that you haven’t read before, but Lily made it different for me. I like the Lily’s POV a lot. She was funny; she was witty and so natural! I like almost everything that came from her mouth. In the part 4 she was almost annoying, she WANTED to be very funny and witty, but unfortunately she wasn’t at all. It is why the writing was somehow tiresome to me. I still like Connor -he is for sure one of my favorite alpha-males. He is not just gorgeous rich sexy self-confident and a very good looking successful billionaire. He is something special. I was fond of steamy actions; they were well written and very hot.(Olivia knows too good what I like!) With an irresistible Connor right "at the heart of events". As somebody addicted to the series, I simply needed my Connor-drugs.
The ending is much promised and in spite of a cliffhanger or just because of it, I will for sure buy the part 5 to know what happens next.
If you want to read it, I would advice to wait till the series will be finished.
This series just gets better and better but be warned ends on huge cliffhanger.
This series is just getting better and better, the first book 'All That He Wants' was great Lily and Connor meeting for the first time, the heat and attraction flaring up between them and while I enjoyed this and subsequent books I expected the usual billionaire falls for poor normal girl type of book and the first couple fit in with this although there were always hints at more and more is what we're getting. Lily finds herself unemployed and sitting in Connors Lamborghini heading back towards LA where her and Connor continue to develope their relationship but Connors past is catching up with them and this book ends on the most awful cliffhanger possible, I'd be furious if I had to wait but I already have the next book so I'm good to go. Brilliant.
I was reading this late last night and wanted to stop and sleep, coz i'm friggin' sleepy but I didn't. I actually stop and think...about how I love this series, I know it's weird but... well, that's me. It kind of scares me coz this is a really good series, and I might not get much satisfaction reading other novels. It's not just the story really, but the style that it was written, just WOW! Though, I really did skipped a few sentences/paragraphs when Lily started talking about how a room looked like, i'm not much into reading those so....
Wow, this series just get better and better - I didn't expect it to be this good! I am so pleasantly surprised. It was sexy, fun (sometimes even hilarious) and most importantly, there are depths to the characters and I enjoyed the growth of our heroine. And Connor is nothing like the alphas I've been so accustomed to reading recently. And he's simply delicious! I cannot wait for more.
This episode was so well written. The narration is spot on and the explanations realistic . The characters are growing and the plot is moving along well.
Okay, so the fourth part of this series. I feel like I'm too angry about that ending to write anything positive here, but I WAS enjoying it and I guess I should have seen the cliffhanger coming from the way the previous installments have ended. ANYWAY, yay for some character development here. Up until this point I felt like we mostly got in the moment happenings but we finally get some backstory on these two (for better or worse). I think maybe the writing style is starting to clash for me with how serious this book is becoming... like, I want my romance to be the central story and I'm feeling it start to slip away as other things come between them (and maybe I also want my villains to be misunderstood, not actually insane/mean/hateful). Just when Lily was starting to get comfortable and Connor was starting to take their relationship seriously... they're not exactly established enough as a couple considering they've had like two non-sex-related conversations over the course of their knowing each other. I don't know if I'll keep reading this series. It might be worth it to get more Sebastian, we'll see.
I think the nail in the coffin for me was how that last scene was handled. I'm used to my heroines having more balls than that - sure, she had some quippy one-liners but then she just left. And next up I'm sure they're both going to doubt the other just because they're too stupid/scared to stand together and present a united front. I was practically yelling at her to go in there and just hold Connor's hand because as traumatic as this is for her I'm sure it's way worse for him and if she can't provide some comfort now when the shits hitting the fan what good is she. UGH. I can just see it all going down hill from here.
What can I say? Actually I'm not going to say anything as I am going to shout it! I AM LOVING THIS SERIES! There that felt better ☺
This series is like your favourite box of chocolates, it's filled to the brim with all the best ingredients and it makes you want to hunker down in your most comfiest seat and lose yourself to the story.
It isn't intellectual, it's not full of twist and turns, the plot is easy to follow but it's just choc full of great characters. It's also colourful and grammatically perfect with not a single typo either (well not that I spotted). Olivia's very chatty prose shines through and makes it very easy to connect with all the people in this series but especially Lily and Connor. Olivia is definitely up there with some of my favourite writers because I totally engage with how she writes, her characters chat to you, they draw you in and I absolutely love that kind of connection between reader and character.
Again this ends on a cliffie so your automatically drawn to find out what happens next and I can't wait to delve into volume 2 and find out what's in store for Augustus and Lenora because they have to be up there with the world's worst and shittiest people ever, followed closely by Miranda and Vincent, (Connors ex and his brother) what's going to happen to them too? I hope whatever it is it all pans out with a massive BANG!!
The worse thing about this book is that it ended too soon and we have to wait for awhile for the next installment. In this fourth installment their relationship begins to develop - more than just romps in the bed. Hopefully without giving too much away Connor opens up to Lilly about a business idea he is looking into and I got the sense that this was a big deal to him because he can keep those cards pretty close to his chest. He also opened up to her about his childhood and family. I think the reader really gets the sense that he is falling for Lilly and he trusts her. There is a relaxness (not even sure that is a word) that Lilly brings out of him. Oh and the ending, what an ending. Olivia you do a terrific job of making us want more. His family is a piece or work. They have audacity I have never seen before.
Oh, and I had to look up Charles Dance 50 Shades of Grey on YouTube. It was hilarious.
I just read the 4 books in the Billionaire's Seduction series one after each other. I absolutely LOVED LOVED LOVED them. The cliff hangers at the end of each one didn't bother me because I knew I had another one to go onto. That was until I got to #4. Now I have to wait for #5 and it's killing me! However, I loved it so much: that did not stop me loving #4 because Lily showed her spunk. Love that girl! In fact, I loved all the characters - gorgeous Connor with beautiful blue eyes, (swoon), Johnny (who had me sniggering to myself) and Sebastian. (If there was an award for best gay character in a book, he might just win it.) I don't want to even talk about Connor's parents. This review originally started as a comment on Olivia Thorne's facebook page, but it evolved into a review. I almost forgot to mention that Lily's inner monologue had me in stitches and I even googled some of her references. Written by Karen from Confessions of a Bookaholic
I've now read the first 4 books in this series and for the most part i've enjoyed them. My least favourite has been the 4th book but that was due to the science and politics section which bored me as it's not a subject I understand well or have any interest in. I am loving the characters of Connor and Lily though, her because she's always been a "good girl" and played by the rules and she is now letting go of that and having a great time so far and Connor because he comes across as so charming like a little boy you can't help but adore or a rough round the edges lovable rogue. With the family he has it's no wonder he took to Lily the way he did and i'm looking forward to the next instalment.
Okay now don't get me wrong...because I LOVED this book as well as the whole series so far, but DAMN this one was so much better than the rest. Shit got real in this one...and I can honestly say Miranda shocked me at the end...I totally did not see the extent of her presence coming at all. I cannot wait to finally get more of Sebastian...because I absolutely love his character! So much happened in this one that I can't even remember what all I wanted to say about the book. Ohh...Lily taking on Conner's mom...PRICELESS! I laughed so hard...then Johnny retelling what happened to Sebastian...hilarious! I recommend this book if not for any other reason than for this particular book because the ending will have you going, "WHAT?! OH NO SHE DIDN'T!"
Olivia Thorne continues with Connor and Lily's story and doesn't disappoint. We move on to Vegas and boy do the sparks fly. Connor really opens up to Lily in this installment showing that what he feels for Lily is something long-lasting. Really enjoyed how their bond strengthened in this part ... of course, we end at a critical moment, I hate that but will wait for part 5.
Olivia has indicated in the post notes that she is hoping to finish their story with one more installment ... I'm not sure I like that, I think I could read more about Connor and Lily!
I am loving this series. The love (yes, love) between Lily & Connor oozes from the pages and is being put through the test at the end of this book. Hard to figure out what Connor is thinking and going to do with the hotel room full of people, people he dislikes. And his parents automatically hate Lily because she is not a high class snob (from Bitches-R-Us). Too long to wait for book 5 but I will go back and reread from the beginning when we know it will be released. Great job Olivia Thorne.
This is an amazing series I am totally addicted! Connor has Lily in las Vegas so he can conduct some business. He romances her a lot and man it's hot! He takes her out to the desert and trusts her with his next huge business deal secrets. Then he has amazing hot sex with her on the good of the Lamborghini under the stars. Oh my goodness is it hot!! Then his horrible family and ex fiance show up to ruin things. But bless Lily' s heart she stands up to his horrible mom. It was great!!!
Oh My God!!! Each installment is better than the last! Lily and Connor are amazing together and now with the addition of more characters its unbelievable! The worst part is that at the end it says the next one will hopefully come out by Christmas!?!? OMG I can't believe we have to wait that long! Talk about the master of the cliffhanger. UGH!!!
I just finished reading the first 4 of the Billionaire's Seduction series. I purchased part one on amazon for free so I decided to give it a try. At first I was a little put off by Lily's rantings but by the end of the book I was hooked and had to read the next one and the next one and the next. I can not wait for part 5 to come out. Love me some Conner :)
This has to be the best book out of the series so far. Especially after that cliffhanger. God, I need the next book. Here the story is freaking getting started! At the end of this you will not be able to take your eyes away from all the things happening. I really need the next book to know what the hell will be happening. This part of the series was freaking awesome!
Love the way this book is written - like she is talking right to you explaining the story to you. She drew me in with the first story and now I am hooked! Can't wait to read the rest of the series.
This series is just getting better and better. I am totally addicted! I loved all the characters, Connor, Lily, Johnny and Sebastian. Lily's inner monologue is amazing. The plot is really good. I just love this series, so far…
Four part harmony is what comes to mind at this point in the series (wish it was a complete novel;) What happens in Vegas…didn’t stay in Vegas but that’s okay since I get to read more and about Lily and Connor and hoping for a Happy Ever After!
