Lord of Snow and Ice is a fantasy story, not usually a subgenre of romance I read, that started off very overwritten but slowly and steadily built up a wonderful magical world. The fantasy aspects of the story worked very well with the descriptions of magical beasts & lands, potions, and good & evil sorcerers; I truly began to "see" the beings and land in my mind. Where the outside story worked, I found the characters to be slightly lacking; they came off a bit weak and thin. Clarysa was ...more

An okay read. Lord of Snow and Ice was a nice retelling of Beauty and the Beast, thought I can't say that I loved it.

Clarysa was a trial for me. I wasn't a huge fan of hers. She had a tendency to do something stupidly impulsive now and think about consequences later. That's all well and good, but she was never able to actually handle the consequences. Eventually, she grew her own brand of strength as she fought for what she truly wanted. In the end, I was okay with her.

Stellan was similar for m

Three and a half stars, rounded up.

Lord of Snow and Ice is a retelling of the fairy tale Beauty and the Beast. This is a romance that features magic, snow, kingdoms, and a relationship that should not be.

First of all, I have to say that I love the cover. It's simple but pretty, and I think it does well to capture the essence of the story line.

One thing that really impressed me about the story Lord of Snow and Ice is the descriptive writing in regards to both the setting as well as the character

Heather Massey does a beautiful job creating a vivid and realistic fantasy world for this story to take place.

Stellan is the Lord of Ice and Snow with a violent and evil family history while deep inside he is sweet and caring. Stellan struggles with wanting to help but being considered a monster via heritage.

Princess Clarysa is impulsive and somewhat naïve, I enjoyed watching her coming into her own as the story unfolds. While Clarysa's innocence is tested by circumstances, she discovers that e

I'm giving this read 3 1/2 stars but rounding up.

I know you're not supposed to judge books by their covers, but I did. (Shame on me). The lame/ unimaginative title of this book plus the totally cheesy cover art almost kept me from reading it. - The description eventually won me over though, and I'm so glad that it did!

The characters were all well developed and the fantasy world in which they live was well fleshed out. Clarysa, WAS a spoiled little princess but I didn't find her to be grating or

Looking for a book that has it all? Well you've come to the right place-almost (there were no aliens or contemporary billionaires actually). Okay so it just has all the right elements to make it a quirky fairy tale retelling. This Beauty and the Beast retelling was set in a land of fantasy and magic with evil sorcerers and magic, a zombie apocalypse, a beastly Dark Prince, a spoiled yet determined Princess, forbidden romance and a breath-taking grand finale that left me with a tear in my eye (ju ...more

I wanted to love this book. Beauty and the Beast retellings are among my absolute favorite stories and that’s the way this book is pitched. Not only that, but we have a hero who doesn’t think he is good enough for his heroine AND he is a virgin! Made of win, yes? Well, not really.

Prince Stellan lives in exile. He is feared and reviled by the Aldebaran for the magic his kind can do. Yet he is in exile from his own people for refusing to subscribe to their evil intentions. No one wants him. Until

I do love fairytale retellings and this one was no exception. The world and the characters were both wonderfully written and intriguing. I really liked Stellan and Clarysa. However I think a book about Lionel would be really awesome too.

I thought the romance between the two was well written and not predictable. Stellan had just enough coldness and sensitivity shown to really want to make you dig deeper to see which type of person he really was. Clarysa, I have to say would have been me if I live

Normally these types of reads really appeal to me but for some reason I just couldn’t finish reading it. It’s not that I hated it or that the story was bad. It was more like the pacing was so slow and sluggish that I often found myself putting my e-reader down to listen to some music or walk around my house to revitalize myself.

Judging though from what I did read, I did like how the author took time to set up the story before having the characters officially meet. What I mean by them not off

I loved everything about this book. A true love story with a ton of twist and turns. Surprises you will love.

This story starts off with a bang pulling you in and keeping you there. Never once did I get bored.

This story was an adult fantasy of beauty and the beast. So wonderful and magical.

Clarysa a princess who wants more out of life. She knows there is more out there for her and wants adventure.

Stellan a prince and a sorcerer who lives in a kingdom cursed by an endless winter. Stellan sets

Clarysa is free spirited and fun. She is naive but I can excuse this with age and sheltered upbringing. At first she has a very "love conquers all" attitude. While I won't argue that this is true in romance novels, people do get hurt along the way. Some people even die. The greatest sacrifices we make are for love. Clarysa learns quick. I enjoyed watching her mature as the story progressed. She starts as a stars in her eyes young girl and becomes a woman. Stellan broke my heart. He is young in b ...more

When I read the description I was immediately was interested. I'm very glad i was given the chance to read the book because I really enjoyed it. It has elements of the classic Beauty and the Beast which I love but is also its own story. Stellan the lord of snow and ice is a great character who admirable in many ways. His dedication to fighting the Pestilence(not sure if I spelled that right, his bravery, his insecurities/weaknesses all make him a believable character who you really come to like. ...more
