Divided between reliving the past and embracing his new life with Ivy, Eric fears that love will once again be ripped from his grasp. Having faith in the future is hard. So many things can go wrong.
Ivy is convinced that what they have is meant to be...but no one can escape the wheel of fate.
Her love for Eric and the life they're creating make every sacrifice seem worthwhile. Until she's forced to reveal the truth surrounding her delicate condition. Even if it shatters his hope.
Can they hold onto their newfound happiness or are events already in motion to keep them apart?
I really enjoyed the first book in the Take Me Now series, but I absolutely LOVED Meant for Me! :D It's definitely dramatic, but I really enjoy the chemistry between Eric and Ivy, and I love all of the moments they spend together...both the easy ones with banter and the steamy ones. ;) haha
Since Take Me Now, Ivy and Eric's lives have changed a bit, but all of their drama with Lauren isn't quite over yet....and it definitely gets even more intense in Meant For Me! I absolutely adore Ivy and Eric though, and their passion is amazing. I also loved that in this one we see a very different dynamic between Eric and Ivy than we did in Take Me Now. They're more honest and open with each other, and it's so easy to see both their love and intense attraction for one another, which I absolutely adored! :)
Poor Ivy and Eric just cannot escape the drama that is their lives! I loved that Ivy and Eric just keep trying through, but they definitely hit a few bumps in Meant For Me and I can't wait to see how everything turns out in the next book, Hold Me Tight...especially after Meant for Me's intense ending!!! I'm trying to be a bit vague because I definitely don't want to spoil any of you...but trust me drama abounds, and there are some twists that you just might not expect.
Overall, I thought that Meant for Me was even better than the first book, and I just grew to love Eric and Ivy even more! Now I'm eagerly awaiting Hold Me Tight and I just can't wait to read it!
*I received an ebook of MEANT FOR ME from the author in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own. *This review also appears on my blog and on other social media sites.
Following the events of book one, Ivy and Eric are building their life together when a character from book one comes back to throw a wrench in the works. If that wasn't enough, a medical condition complicates their situation even further.
I struggle with the rating because I really don't know what to click! I enjoyed it for several reasons. One, I like how Ivy managed stood up for herself regarding something that is important to her, which I like. I also loved the interactions between her and Eric, as they're a sweet couple. I did, however, spend most of the book wanting to throw things at another character who was so completely nasty and inhuman, I really wanted to see her get her comeuppance badly. It was a bit hard to read said character's sections, but I loved most of the rest of it.
If you're looking for a read that will make you feel, this will definitely do the job.
Pregnancy is a joyous time as brand-new parents anticipate their upcoming little one. What will s/he look like? What will s/he like to eat? What will his/her hobbies be? What/Who/Where.......but what if that pregnancy is in jeopardy and those who may be able to save its little life are embroiled in an emotional spaghetti that would make the writers of "Passions" sit up and take notice?
LONG STORY SHORT "Dangit, Faith!" When I'm mentally hollering at the author of a book when I finish it because I didn't get enough, that is a good thing! Meant for Me jumps right in where Take Me Now left off, albeit after it seems a few weeks/couple months have passed. This is a wonderfully accessible and well-written book that reads quickly, and the gut-wrenching drama will have you pulling for the main characters in a way that is well-informed as we see the situation from every angle (viewpoints of good and bad guys included). The emotional roller-coaster continues as we journey with Ivy and Eric down the next few steps of their path...as expectant parents who have a lot of some baggage with which to contend. I still want to hug everyone in this story line. Well, almost everyone.
(Oh, and by the way - this is a book solely for those aged 18+. Sorry, young ones - too much steam.)
Overall, I give this book a 5 out of 5 on a 1-5 rating scale.
LONG STORY The Good Faith, Faith, Faith...what am I going to do with you? A cliffhanger of that magnitude? Seriously? :P
There, now that my frustration with the author has been vented, I can get to the book (in reality, I'm quite fond of the author, just frustrated with where the story left off...imagine your favorite television show ending a season on one of the biggest cliffhangers EVER. Yeah.)
=)
Let's see, Meant for Me picks up right where the prequel (Take Me Now) left off, soon after Ivy and Eric have learned that their *ahem* physical relations have caused the beginning of a new entity. Yep, they are pregnant (sorry dudes, I'm totally of the "if the woman is prego, the couple is prego" mindset). We rejoin them a couple of months after learning the joyous news. Ivy and Eric are living together in his little cabin. Will is getting Ivy's help writing his big screenplay. Lauren is out of all of their lives for a good long time....or is she? duh duh duh *cue dramatic music*
Just like in the last book, I can't delve too much into the plot without giving away significant points that you should read the book to find out (beware, though, that this is an 18+ book!). Suffice to say there is drama drama drama. This drama, however, threatens Ivy's very life in a way that puts Eric through flashbacks and seriously threatens the stability of their relationship....something Lauren delights about, I'm sure. Oh boy, there I go again just about to ruin the plot.
Anyways, this book is still set in small-town America where everyone knows everyone, and everyone knows the color of your new dress before you even get back to the house (can you tell I grew up in a tiny town?). It has a small-town feel: ostensibly super simple and easy to understand, until you actually get to know the people and truly figure out just how everything and everyone works. Drama + complication begets more drama + complication begets more drama + complication.....
Sullivan truly set the stage for these characters in the first book, so she didn't have to spend a whole lot of time here setting up the scene. She did, however, go into the past of certain figures a bit more than in the last book. Writing in a style that takes up multiple viewpoints (each chapter is told from a different person's point of view), Sullivan here has crafted a piece that truly allows readers to get a glimpse of the background, inner thoughts, and motivations of characters in a unique, matter-of-fact way. We get a sense of what is motivating Lauren, Will, Ben (oh wait, you may not have met him yet...) and a deeper sense of what is behind Eric and Ivy's actions/thoughts/words. I love this! As someone who is forever trying to get people to look at where another person may be coming from, I absolutely love that Sullivan has here written in a way that does just that. Yayz!
Everything in this work is just so real. I could actually see a scenario like this playing out in my hometown (and I've an idea who would be whom....) or among those in my friend group. Miscommunications lead to undue frustrations, which leads to certain people manipulating those miscommunications for their own self-serving interests. Assumptions are made, feelings are hurt, and we are caught in a web of interactions that tugs on our own heartstrings as we pick out who we feel is villain and hero.
Let me just say this as well - Ivy at one point nearly loses her baby due to a medical condition that is very similar to one that almost caused me to lose my baby as well. While the ending for Ivy and her baby is unclear (c'mon Sullivan....that next book should come out very soon.....that cliffhanger is going to drive me insane!!), my baby boy survived the condition. The child of one of my friends did not. I drew near to Ivy on a very personal, emotional level in this book since I'm a mother who as "been there, seen that, heard those "options" and hated them too". Okay, probably TMI, but there you go.
This book is very well-written, accessible (it's not terribly "deep" in a philosophical way, but in an emotional way - while it is fiction that I enjoy, it is not something that my philosophically minded husband would be able to get into), a fast read, and one that will leave you craving more. Seriously - I'm considering sending Sullivan an email every week until the next book is released. I need to know what happens!
The Bugly (bad/ugly) I'm happy to report that one of the buglies that I noted for the first book (Eric and Ivy sounding too much like each other in their respective chapters) is resolved here. In this book, each author has his/her own unique voice. I'd like them to be a tad more distinct, but they are distinct. Awesome!
Also, motives for specific characters are made much more clear in this work, which resolves my other bugly.
That all being said, my major bugly with this book revolves around the absolute fourteen-teen mile high cliffhanger which closes the work. It ends...but it doesn't. Yeah, yeah, yeah - I know this is to keep people reading, and it for sure worked for me! You can bet I'm gonna stalk the release date of the next book. Seriously people, I need to know what happens!!
So I guess I don't really have a bugly.....this feels weird.

Wow! Where do I start with Meant For Me by Faith Sullivan?!?! I reviewed Take Me Now, which is the first installment in the series, a few weeks ago. I was pleasantly surprised at how the story unfolded. I thought that TMN was a rollercoaster ride .... Boy, was I wrong!!! Never in a million years did I see this story going into this direction .... Everrrr! We get to read from four different POV's in this book : Ivy, Eric, Lauren and Will. I was shocked when I saw Lauren and Will's name at the top of those chapters. My first words out of my mouth ... ''Oh, crap!'' I love when authors write from different POV's. It gives us the privilege to connected with the characters even more.
First of all let me you something ... that first chapter ... It's hot!!! Holy Hotness!! Eric is just *Swoon* He caught my attention in TMN, but in MFM .... Eeeeep! Watch out he's dreamy!!! Ok, back to the story. MFM picks up where TMN left off. Ivy and Eric are trying to start their life together after overcoming many obstacles. They are living peacefully until Will (Ivy's first love interest) comes back into their lives and delivers shocking news. I don't want to spoil what the plot is about, but trust me that I have never seen so many twist and turns in a story. I was constantly rereading just to make sure I understood what was happening.
When I read TMN I really, really, really hated Lauren. She's a first class B*tch! In this book, I don't think I can even find a word to describe how much I detest her. I wanted to punch something while reading her POV. She's selfish and despicable. She's always blackmailing people and is up to no good. This girl is Trouble with a capital T. Will and Lauren are similar. I hated him, but in MFM I saw i'm in a different way. He's still a douchebag, but I like him a bit more. It really took me by surprise what was revealed of him.
Ivy and Eric are two characters that I love to read about. My heart broke for Eric when we got a glimpse of his tragic past, and how what happened in the past is coming to haunt him again :( It's beautiful to see how much he loves Ivy. She means the world to him and he would do anything to keep her safe and happy. Ivy is very different this time around. She's more mature and she has difficult decisions to make. I have to admit that her last decision left me screaming at her. I understand what she was going through, but I did not agree how she played out her cards and made that crucial call.
This book ended with a CLIFFHANGER!!!!!! Arrrrrrg! A major one! So major that I'm already planning in my head what is going to happen next. Hold Me Tight comes out in April ... that's too far away!!!! I.want.it.now.
I give Meant For Me by Faith Sullivan 4.5 dramatic, sexy, exciting stars! This series is turning out to be a real surprise and I'm loving every single minute of it! Faith Sullivan delivers another page-turner! ;)
Faith..... Faith..... Faith..... you are so cruel to me!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bawhahahahahaha this is my evil as hell laugh! Okay so I love you really Faith because as ever you have ROCKED my world with this amazing story that had me up late all night Sunday when I should have been doing homework. So after reading Take Me Now I was anxiously waiting to read Meant For Me and can I say HOLY WOWZER I just could not get enough.
For starters the opening is of Ivy and Eric and holy mother lover what a scene to open up to and then the story just takes off from there. This is going to be one of those reviews where I will not spoil it for you but I will give you a little inside information on the characters that are in the story.
Will is still alive and well and trying to stir up trouble between our lovely Eric and Ivy. Ivy is in a very sensitive way and she and Eric are getting along but as usual the doubts and the haters are well at work trying to destroy what they have. Ryan is still his infatuated self with Ivy and really has a big part to play in this book and I was rather shocked at what his shenanigans were. Lauren oh lord the villain Lauren she wants her man Eric and she is determined now more than ever to get him in her clutches. Ben my lovely Ben he works for Eric and is a good friend to Ivy.
We also get to meet some new characters and one of them I am dying to find out more about and his name is Tim and he is brothers with one of the characters and how things play out had me screaming FAITH YOU ARE EVIL JUST PLAIN OUT EVIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But seriously I need book three because something major happens and when I was reading the last few chapters I was yelling and crying all at the same time because lord one of the characters pissed me off so much so I wanted to reach in the book and snatch that ratchet asshole and smack them upside the head a few times.
Faith you know you have a way to get my blood pressure boiling and this one had me needing my anxiety pills and a bottle of jack yes folks I needed my Jack Daniels after this because I went back and re-read the last three chapters to make sure I read what I read and low and behold me and Jack Daniels and Coke became best friends! This is a MUST READ series that I recommend to everyone!
Thank you Faith for letting me read this early because it made me cry and laugh and fall in love with Eric, Ivy, Ryan, Ben and the gang all over again!
I really enjoyed book one in this series, Take Me Now, and found myself really excited at the chance to read Meant for Me, book two, early. I like Ivy and Eric---really, how could I not?---and was looking forward to diving back into their passionate love story. Speaking of passion, Sullivan sure knows how to write the bedroom scenes: full of emotion and chemistry yet still tasteful. Parents, take note, this series is definitely New Adult and not appropriate for ages 18 and under.
Take Me Now had a lot of world-building, with a large cast of characters. I liked that Sullivan jumped right into the story in Meant for Me, and kept up a great pace throughout the book. This book had a lot of drama going on, and I found myself really enjoying that (even though I'm not usually a fan of that kind of story). The villain in this series is not your typical "bad guy" and I thought that that particular plot element was really well developed. The cast of characters, several of whom I thought were unrelated, ended up with intertwining stories. I love that! There was a butterfly effect in this story: one action set off a series of revelations about several characters.
What I like most about Sullivan's work is how easy it is to escape into her stories. Her characters are so easy to relate to, and her plots are detailed but not so much that I have to work to remember things. I hate having to work at reading a book: I want my books to be fun, engaging, and easy to read. Sullivan's books always fit the bill in that aspect.
Sullivan's characters are realistically flawed, which makes me like them more. I hate it when authors write characters that are too perfect: too beautiful, too smart, and their decisions are always correct. It makes them unrealistic, in my opinion. Sullivan's characters make mistakes---sometimes I want to reach through the pages and smack some sense into them---but their mistakes are what make them so likable. I feel like her characters are so real they could be people I know. My neighbors, strangers at the mall, anyone, really.
Meant for Me was full of surprises, which I loved. I love being surprised as I'm reading. Faith took the story in a direction I wasn't expecting, and ended the book on an "ah-ha" note. I really can't wait to read the conclusion to this series...I think it's going to be even better than the first two books!
This story continues with Eric, Ivy, Will, Ben, Lauren and Ryan.We get to see various POV's of Ivy, Eric, Will and Lauren as well in this book However, there are shocking revelations, surprises, pain, blood, anger, happiness and more that keep you on your toes until the end!
Ivy craves Eric.. especially with her pregnancy hormones. (haha) She loves him madly and their baby too. Yet, she has to deal with stuff with Will regarding their manuscript/play. Then nothing goes as it should and issues arise.
Eric needs Ivy. He loves her so much. He's overly possessive and jealous. He gets very angry in this book and Will notices his aggressive/angry behavior. He wants only the best for Ivy. He doesn't want to lose her and will do anything to keep her... even though he does love his baby so much!
Lauren has sneaky, nasty schemes in place. Will do anything to get what she wants and guess what she wants?!!
Will has been scammed in a sense. He now realizes a few things and wants and hopes things will be okay for Ivy. He wants truths to come out, but how can they when no one will step up to the plate?
I love Ivy. She has spunk, feisty personality and drive to want to do something for herself and not always depend on others. I loved that she got/understood what Wanda told her and the revelations of thoughts on being a mom... and what you would do for your baby!
** I was so proud of her and the decision she made at one point in the book!**
I loved Eric and am angry at him too. Yes, he loves Ivy and is good to her but he needs to be a team with her! The one part in the story- he deserved what he got in a sense. He only thinks of them and nothing more in a sense.
I'm starting to like Will more. :)
Lauren... ugh! She just makes me want to scream! That is all.... other than I look forward to watching her fall in the next book! Yes, nasty to say, but she will deserve everything and then some for her nasty rude behavior!
Can Eric and Ivy get an HEA with all the drama, past & recent revelations surfacing and more? Can Eric let go of the past to see the future or is it too late?
This is another fabulous book in the series! You will be shocked, floored and amazed with all the characters. You don't want to miss this next book in the series! Fabulously done and done in true Faith style!!
5 stars and can't wait until we get the final book come 2014!!!
I was provided an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
You know the giddy feeling you get as you read? That’s how I felt during Meant for Me. I really enjoyed the first book, but this one? I loved it! It was full of suspense, swoon worthy romance and surprises everywhere. Faith Sullivan I need book 3 asap!
Meant For Me is the continuation of Ivy and Eric’s story. As Ivy and Eric prepare their lives for their future, their past comes back to haunt them. Yes, Lauren. Just when I thought she was gone, she comes back with a vengeance. She has no idea that her evil actions will hurt people she is close to in the process as well. While Ivy and Eric are stronger than ever, love is also what can tear them apart. They have seen each other through the manipulation and lies thrown at them. But, when Ivy is forced to make a choice, it is one that will truly effect her future with Eric, in all ways possible. This story took a surprising turn in events. If you think you know all the secrets of this story, you’re wrong. Faith pulls out all the stops with this one to keep the readers guessing.
The love in Meant For Me between Ivy and Eric is stronger, deeper than in the first book. Eric loves Ivy with his entire heart and soul. This all consuming love goes beyond what he felt for his ex, Cassidy. There are times where I feel Eric is going to lash out and there are times where I believe he has the right to. However, Eric is so loving and understanding. Despite all the situations Ivy puts him through, he loves her through it. My heart went pitter patter for Eric as I read this story. This passionate man has been through so much, but he loves harder than anyone. His growth in Meant for Me is beyond words. As similarities between his past and present collide, Eric believes in his love for Ivy even more.
I absolutely loved Meant For Me and cannot wait to find out how Ivy and Eric’s story continues. I recommend this to anyone who was a fan of the first book in this series. If not, then you want to read this anyway. Eric and Ivy are a remarkable couple and the continuation of their story proves that. When pushed to their limits, they love harder. Isn’t that what love is about?
have been patiently waiting… well, maybe not. I’ve been dying to get Meant for Me! Take Me Now pulled me in and took me for a ride that I didn’t’ want to get off. Meant for Me did the exact same thing!
Ivy and Eric’s story continues. They are expecting a little one, but there are a lot of close calls. Not like the typical baby issues. It’s more like the bitch from book one just can’t get enough! I mean, Lauren is a conniving, heartless, bitch. (That’s me being nice about it.)
Ivy is working with Will on the screenplay, but what they don’t realize is how their life is about to change when Lauren walks back into the picture and holds all of the cards.
Ivy is one tough cookie. Not only has she come from nothing, but she has tried her best to make something of herself. She has met the one person that makes her whole. What she doesn’t factor in is Will making her fly to LA, Lauren rearing her ugly head, and the chance that her baby could be in danger.
Will is still Will. Arrogant, pulls Ivy along, and looks out for himself. He does however shock us all in more than one. In fact, I kinda grew to like him in this one.
Eric, oh Eric. There’s nothing like a hard working’ man supporting his lady. He still carries some baggage, and that baggage and thoughts are what caused me to scream, “Nooooooooooooo!” Please don’t let your mind think like a guy, scared of what ifs, and the future you can’t predict. Don’t make Ivy choose; just don’t!
There are several characters that will leave you speechless with what is really going on with them. The ending had me wanting to knock some sense into Ivy. I wanted to beg for her not to do it!
On a different note, my favorite character is Wanda, the nurse. She keeps it real for Ivy and Eric. She calls it like she see’s it. I felt like her character is a minor roll, but has the biggest impact of all!
So, if you have read Take Me Now, what are you waiting for? 1-click Meant For Me like yesterday! (Oh, wait it wasn’t live then!) I can’t wait for Hold Me Tight! I have got to have more of Ivy, Eric, and everyone else along on this ride!
From the moment Eric entered Ivy's life, nothing has ever been the same. Things have been turned topsy-turvy in so many ways that she no longer knows which way is up and which is down. Despite the fact that Lauren and Ryan have it out for her, she's determined in making the best of things. She has to. There's a new life growing inside of her, one that deserves a chance to live.
Forced to confront the situation she now finds herself in, Ivy soon realizes that things will never be as they were before. She's taken a step in another direction, one her unexpected pregnancy reinforces each and every day. She knows that things are just as hard on Eric, though he does his best to hide that fact from her whenever possible. Deep inside, she wishes that she could spare him of the pain and heartache he feels. He's been through this before, after all. Yet she knows that things this time around are different, and they deserve that chance at happiness. Or so she thinks.
An unexpected phone call soon throws her entire world in limbo. Ivy knows she should ignore Will's requests if she and Eric are to make a go of things. Sadly, she refuses to be dependent on anyone, most especially Eric. With no other choice but see what it is that Will wants, she makes a decision that will further change her life as she knows it. Though things are difficult as it is, she knows she can't allow anyone to dictate the way she lives her life. In her mind, happiness is just around the corner, she just needs to be strong enough to find it. But first she must contend with Will and the obnoxious Lauren as she lurks in every corner.
A bittersweet love story, Meant For Me will definitely make you cry by the time you get to the very end of it. A box of tissues will come handy, trust me. The story picks up from where the first left off, thrusting us into the midst of Ivy's chaotic life. Though she's made some headway in the precarious situation she finds herself in, she now has to deal with a slew of other problems. Will she overcome them, I wonder? I'll just have to wait and see what happens next in the third book of this great series. So can't wait!
The first time I read Faith Sullivan was when I received the first book in the series Take Me Now #1 - I said then that I loved finding new authors to sink my teeth into and I must say she didn't disappoint with book #2, Meant For Me. Faith Sullivan knows how to write a romance and definitely knows how to write a cliff hanger. I can say without a doubt she can write characters that absolutely infuriate me and characters that can make me smile and the combination of the two is a wonderful cocktail of heart tugging emotion.
Ivy and Eric’s story flows nicely into book 2 as they continue their journey and start to build a life together for both themselves and Ivy’s unplanned pregnancy through all the twists Faith Sullivan throws their way. Without giving too much away, characters from Take Me Now show face in Meant For Me, some good, some not so and I was impressed and surprised with the path the story took. Ivy and Eric are still dealing with the town’s response to their relationship when things take an unexpected turn that takes Eric back to his past and the fears that never seem to slip away. On top of all that... insert evil troll (or ‘Lauren’ as Faith Sullivan calls her) here.
Meant For Me was very much a roller coaster ride of emotions for me. I went from raging fury, to joy, to heartbreak and back again. I wasn’t expecting some of the roles of the characters and I was pleasantly surprised when the story started to develop.
Book #2 was full of feeling and I just kept asking, when are Eric and Ivy going to catch a break? I believe Sullivan writes relatable characters with such emotion that the reader can’t help but be drawn into it. Again I felt with this one the story ended abruptly but I can appreciate the cliff hanger for book 3. Which I will absolutely be reading. I was so into the book that I actually yelled “What!” when I ran, unknowningly, head first into the end.
If you liked Take Me Now, you will love Meant For Me and, like me, be salivating for book 3. Faith Sullivan weaves a brilliant romance filled with suspense that keeps your emotions on their toes.
I really enjoyed reading the first book in this series called Take me now and was looking forward to reading this one aswell. It really was a good book and even though it contains alot of intriguing moments and there was always something happening it almost feels like this is just a haul on to the third book. Don´t get me wrong, It was a very nice haul on to the next but I would have like a little bit more excitement. Overall the storyline in Meant for me was about two things and none of them got sorted out.
I love Ivy and Erics love story. It´s raw and emotional. They can never seem to get a break. Poor things! I really felt with them in regards to the struggles they have to face. That was the best part of this book. Even though I might have wanted something more to the story, Faith really has her way with words and can make you feel. Thank you for that!
Eric is loveble and hot headed as usual and I love him. I totally get why he does certain things and thinks other. He is an easy charachter to get to know.
Ivy is also a very lovable charachter, even though she can piss me off at times. lol. She manages to stand up for herself a bit more in this book and she´s evolving.
As to the side charachters we have the pleasure (NOT!) to meet Lauren who takes it up a notch and becomes an even bigger bitch than usual. She is thoroughly spineless. Urgh I hate her! We also get acquainted with Ben and Will more and that I liked. I think we will get alot more of those two in the third book.
Overall this was a good book and the ending left us hanging so I am really looking forward to reading book three to get some answers!
Meant For Me takes place a few months after the end of Take Me Now. Ivy and Eric are now living together and working at the garden center. Ivy has also been helping Will out with the movie that he is working on. Things make a turn for the worst when Lauren finds out how she is being portrayed in the movie.
I had a change of heart about Will reading this. He started to redeem himself at the end of the first book but there are things that he does now that just make him more likeable, even if he still is a dick sometimes. I’m glad he stopped lying and took Ivy’s side with the whole Lauren situation.
It seems like Eric and Ivy cannot catch a break. Everything goes wrong for them all the time. They have been through so much and I just want everything to be okay for them all the time! Even though I love Eric, I was getting so angry with him! How could he make Ivy make those types of decisions with out any type of discussion? I am also mad at Ivy by the way she handled the situation. And holy cliffhanger! I can’t wait until April to find out what happens next I need closure now!
There was plenty of emotion in this book! So much happened with Eric and Ivy and I was sucked in right from the beginning I just can’t wait to see where this ends up going and I hope that Ivy changes her mind before anything happens.
I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Ivy and Eric return! Ivy has always had to be strong. Now she's madly in love. Eric lost his first love in tragic circumstances. Ivy is just what he needs to heal, but he's still scared--he knows he can't handle that kind of loss again.
Passion is not a problem for these two. But they also face some serious interference from a woman bent on having Eric for herself, no matter who she hurts in the process. In addition, Ivy is finds herself in a situation where she must fight for what she believes in, even if Eric doesn't side with her. Can their love survive all the hurdles?
In book one, I wanted Ivy to find her own voice and strength. My wish was granted. Ivy really begins to come into her own in this novel, and she's definitely tested. I only wish she had someone besides Eric to draw strength from--a good friend, a close family member, something. She's so alone. And it's heartbreaking to get Eric's viewpoint and know how afraid he is of losing anyone else he loves.
I was so swept up in the story, and my hope that all would work out for Eric and Ivy, that I felt like I hit a brick wall at the end. It's always so much harder when reading an eBook, because I'm not as aware that it's almost over. Book 3 can't get here soon enough--so many questions were left unanswered, but in an intriguing way.
Note: I received a complimentary copy for review purposes. A positive review was not requested or guaranteed; the opinions expressed are my own.
I had the pleasure of reading an ARC and let me say it is one HOT book! Seriously hot! I'm talking the hottest book I've ever read. The book opens with a very steamy scene and there are plenty more to follow throughout the book. Ivy and Eric are the couple you can't help but root for. Eric's past left him pretty much broken before he met Ivy, and now she's his second chance at happiness. Ivy's had plenty of struggles too, especially recently. So to see these two connect on such an emotional and intimate level is amazing.
But even though they are expecting a child together and are unable to keep their hands off each other, they have more than their share of problems. Ivy has been forced into a situation where she has to help her enemy, Lauren, from book one. I hate Lauren even more in this installment. She preys on Ivy's delicate situation and forces Ivy to write a script that will possibly destroy Eric and the relationship Ivy has with him. And it wouldn't be a Faith Sullivan novel if there wasn't a big twist at the end. As usual, I didn't see it coming but as soon as it happened, I thought, I should've guessed! Sullivan is so good at keeping me guessing and making me eagerly anticipate her next book. Looking forward to book three to see what's in store for Ivy and Eric.

How stable is the dream of happily ever after? In the first book we left Ivy and Eric, they were in love and found out that they had a little bundle of joy on the way. In the second installment the two are just as happy, they have their own place, and dreams of a little one that will soon be in their arms. Eric is still working at his shop and Ivy is picking up script writing with an old friend of ours from the first book, Will. that is when the nice comfortable bubble is nearly popped, Eric needs money, Ivy is having a harsh pregnancy, and the script has a new investor...
As the reader you can get lost in Faith Sullivan's characters, they are realistic, and you can understand Eric's fears. Faith throws the readers a couple of curve balls that the readers will not be expecting at first. I did get a little lost on how far along Ivy was during the pregnancy, but otherwise the readers will not be disappointed because just like in her fashion, Faith Sullivan leaves a cliff hanger for the readers wondering when is the next installment?
Meant For Me is book two in the Take Me Now series and gets off to a, ah, hot start. It picks up where book one leaves off, Ivy is pregnant and Eric is struggling to provide for them.
Right from the beginning, Faith develops a loving and organic relationship between her two MCs. It’s clear they’d do anything for each other, even if that anything would put themselves at risk.
Ivy is a strong, driven MC who, despite the crap she’s been through, seems pretty used to getting what she wants – at least where Eric’s concerned. Her big flaw though, is she makes some pretty dumb choices, especially when it comes to the baby. It was so frustrating to sit there and read about her doing the same thing over and over but it kept me reading. And THANK GOD she made the right choice in the end.
Eric is just a big, ol’ sweetie, wrapped in a tall, muscle-y bundle. He’s been through a whole load of crapola too, and it really made me cringe to see him going through it all again. That said, when it came to the BIG choice, it made his side of the argument make total sense (even if I didn’t agree).
I so totally love Faith's books. Honestly, it's such a treat to nab them up and enjoy them. Meant For Me was no exception. The first couple of chapters...well, they definitely kept me glued to the pages! LOL! Quite steamy to say the least :) And Lauren? Wow, it's not possible to write how much a loathe her. Faith does a great job of giving us Lauren's (twisted) logic behind her actions, too, which I really enjoyed. Also, I liked getting to see into Will's head more, as he has a lot more complexity than I would have thought. Of course I was swooning over Eric, and praying everything worked out with Ivy's tenuous pregnancy (wow does she go through a lot in this book--poor girl!!). Basically, this was a super fun read, a great escape, and overall just an awesome book! Don't miss out on this series!
I received a copy from the author in exchange for my honest review, so here it is. Ivy and Eric are trying to survive, with the seasons changing and maybe more money and Ivy being pregnant. The emotional roller coaster ride continues and it is still worth the ride. Faith Sullivan has done it again. I was hooked from the first page until the WTH ending. Why can't lauren admit that she has never had a chance with Eric and leave them alone? Will is still up to his old tricks? Can they all get Lauren to stop blackmailing them? Will Lauren move on once she has destroyed everyone she thinks had done her wrong? This is a great story and I loved it. You should read it too!
I couldn't finish it and that is rare. To start despite sharing the same name and backstory these are not the characters from the first book. They react different, speak differently, use different speech patterns even. But more than that were right back to victim vile. I would have hoped that ivy would have grown a spine and they would have learned not to keep secrets from each other but no such luck. These two are doomed to be victims forever because they can't learn how to communicate
Received arc copy from author in exchange for true review.omg Faith what have you done finishing the story like that leaving us hanging I want more wow.Ivy and Eric had it tough in book one but jeeze they really been through it in this book.absolutely loved this book so many twists and turns you don't know what's going to happen next.I would definitely recommend I can't wait for book 3.Thank you Faith.
The ending of this one left me saying "What the *&^*?". Eric, a character that I adored, absolutely floored me. I get that the things he said and did was a knee jerk reaction to what happened with Cassidy, but holy hell.
Then there is Lauren. Good thing she's fictional, because I'm pretty sure I'd wish some pretty serious bodily harm to come to her.
A decent read, but one that took a completely unexpected turn.
I hated the first book so what do I do? Of course I read the second book! It is so far fetched and again I never felt like Eric and Ivys relationship was developed. I will NOT be reading the next book.
I liked this one a lot better than the first one however I swear these poor characters just can't get a break! And that ending about killed me!!! I need the 3rd book ASAP!
HO LY COW. Faith, you are KILLING me here! I don't even want to know how long it's going to be before I get to read the last book! No matter how short of a time it is, it will be TOO LONG!
