To survive, their bond must be unbreakable.

When the mysterious and passionate Rhane rescues Kali from an attacker in the theater parking lot, they form an immediate, smoldering connection. But Kali doesn't remember Rhane or anything from their past. As far as Kali knows, she's just a seventeen-year-old kid coping with an insatiable hunger for the “spark” or energy of othe

This book is shallow. Shallow,shallow,shallow

The characters, the plot, the descriptions...shallow This book is a lesson in shallow writing.

Kali is Beautiful with an hourglass figure. But she hates being pretty because she just hates it.

Kali had remained flat and straight until her second year of high school. But in the summer that followed, she had eaten an hourglass. Ample curves appeared out of nowhere to fill out Kali’s athletic figure, exponentially complementing her already olive-skinned, dark

What I liked: This story is very engaging, and the writing kept me glued to the page while I read. While the prologue left me wondering what was happening for so long after a while I was able to piece together what had happened and I liked that I didn't have it explained to me, that I could guess about how the prologue and the main story weaves together! The whole mystery aspect about who Kali really is and what she was before and how she fit into everything was really interesting. Rhane himself ...more

I haven’t been able to get into a young adult book in a while, sad to say I have been in kind of a slump and steered away from the genre. But I was pleasantly surprised with Eden Ashley; this was a fantastic debut novel. It does have some pace issues, where I had to take a break from it because it was dragging in some areas. But the excitement of reading about Sirens, which I’ve never re

Well Written And Character Driven Paranormal Romance
This story centers around Kalista, aka Kali who is anything but a typical seventeen year old.  A beauty, but one with issues, mainly with her knowledge that she isn't like others, that she has a hunger she satisfies by feeding on the energy of others.  A man, Rhane, enters the scene mysteriously, and seems to know her, but what he knows is the part of her that she doesn't know exists.
This story is pretty fast paced from the beginning.  The re

I loved the uniqueness of this book, It had a paranormal element i had never read about before. The Siren part that is. I was hooked in from the start. I think the author did a great job with character development too.

The author keeps us guessing a bit to what exactly Kali is, as well as Rhane. I was a bit confused on all that too, but figured it was part of the suspense of the ongoing series. I think we will learn lots mor

Dark Siren is the first book in the Young Adult paranormal series, called the Dark Siren Series. I love the cover of Dark Siren. The colors and the vivid-ness really work for me. A great things about this series is that the first three books are already out. So if you are like me, and you really enjoyed the first book, you can immediately grab books 2 and 3 and start reading. That is my favorite thing of discovering

Well, I loved this one! It's this author's debut but it was so well done. I couldn't put it down and I know I will be jumping into the sequel ASAP!

Kalista, aka Kali, is in high school, except she doesn't know that she's had a previous life with previous memories, and she's been reborn for a reason. You see, she doesn't remember anything of that. All she knows is her life right now. She doesn't even remember her childhood well. And Kali hungers, except it's not for your normal hamburger. Though

If I did not know this was this author's debut novel I would think she has been writing for years. This novel was extremely well written. The pacing of the novel was great. Every chapter had a purpose that advanced the story. Every chapter ended with sort of a cliffhanger that made you want to continue reading it.
The heroine Kalista (Kali for short) is not your typical high school student. She has a past that she has no memory of and she has a hunger that can only be satisfied by feeding on so

Stunning. OMG. WOW. What an amazing book. Alluring, intoxicating... it was beautiful. Dark Siren was brilliant. Kalista... The adopted girl who cannot remember much of her past. Rhane Whytetree. The mysterious man who saves Kali's life various times. They were great. So were the rest of the Eden Ashley's characters. They played a big part in the success of Dark Siren. Dark Siren was beautifully crafted too. I loved it fr

In the book Dark Siren by Eden Ashley the reader is introduced to the heart wrenching series involving love, treason and most of all the paranormal! This first book is set to lure the reader into the brand new status of understanding the darkness and unforgivable reconstruction of lifetimes of memories vanished. Ashley gives her readers a new understanding of life and dire reasons to keep turning the pages of this book. Ashley takes the reader on a journey that will have them inquiring if they r ...more

Whoa, this is one I’m going to gush about. When I read the plot line I had high expectations and Eden over-delivered. Kali is struggling with an odd hunger and in comes Rhane with some half-answers. This series is going to grow into something with a lot of depth to the different cultures and I think Eden did a fantastic job balancing telling not quite enough (and keeping my nose to the book!) and not forcing a dissertation of explanation at some point. The story is told from different character’ ...more

Dark Siren is a well written YA paranormal novel with a strong romantic focus. Due to the prologue as a reader you know pretty much what is going on which is quite nice but I think that I personally would have preferred things to stay more of a mystery.

Dark Siren has paranormal elements that you don't see used very often which I liked as that made the story fresh. There is a paranormal based insta-love (of a kind) though it is explained by the characters having known and loved one another previ

OOOH this story…….

Right from the very first page, I was hooked. The style of storytelling is very engaging and the incremental release of relevant information keeps the reader interested.

The lead female character is, if I’m honest, not very likeable at first. You’ll understand why when you read it. I also felt that a bit weird about the age difference between Kali and Rhane (as did her parents!!) But as I read more of the story, these things were explained, and really, just “fit” with the plot.

Young Adult is not a genre I generally seek out but I signed up for this review from Xpresso Book Tours so I gave it a go with the same open mind that I always start a new book with. I can't say that it has changed my "seeking out" thoughts on young adult but it's still a very good read. The characters are well written, the paranormal side is interesting, the mystery to Kali is very intriguing. I was surprised to learn that this was the author's debut novel. In my opinion, first novels can be a ...more

Loved the story and how different it was. This is not usually my genre as u can see by my choice of good reads but this book had a little bit of everything so it's defiantly worth reading. Looking foreword to the sequel.

Totally sucked me in. The world was complex in a good way, not your average werewolf/mermaid story, but really rich in history and character. I loved that the centuries old guy found out she was underage and he totally backed off. That was refreshing to see. She still was pretty stupid and had a lot of idiotic moments, but overall, was a nice character to read.

Kali is fine with keeping everyone away. She's discovered a deep hunger that can only be satisfied when she draws energy from other people - most effectively done by making out with them. When she's rescued from an attacker by Rhane, Kali finds herself inexplicably drawn to him, but she has no recollection of anything from their past together. She has to figure out how to survive, figure out who she was before she lost her memories, and defeat the enemy who chase her down.

The book starts with a

Well, this starts off with a bang and I loved every word and then we start getting into some tropes that I just do not like. The first was non-existent parents. Funnily, they DO exist but you wouldn't know it with how much Kali runs around and gets into trouble. Like, serious trouble too, not just the normal teenage boy stuff. Both of her parents are lawyers and although they say multiple times that they have seen teenagers get into a lot of trouble, they do not do anything about both of their d ...more

Holy cow! I picked up this book because I saw the author is another South Carolinian, and I had to check the book out. I'm so glad I did.

Kali is a 17 year old girl who's beginning to experience blackouts and makes out with boys so she can feed off their life spark. This is a problem for her boyfriend, who she decides she's strung along for long enough - they both know their explosive relationship can't last.

Right on the heels of her breakup, she meets Rhane. Dark and mysterious, he stirs her in

Young and beautiful, Kalista was not your typical teenager, she drank of the souls of others, but of course she couldn't tell anyone about this. Adopted at the age of seven, when her parents died, she has always felt a little different, but when she blossomed as a teen and started drinking of the souls, she knew things were off. At the movies one night, she meets a handsome stranger that she can't help but feel she has known, and that begins a strange and dark course

I received this book from Xpresso Book Tours in return for a fair and honest review.

In a genre that is saturated with shifters and vampires (although that is slowly changing) it makes a refreshing change to read something different. And trust me, this is different. I have read the book, enjoyed the book, know what Kali's title is but I don't actually know 'what' she is completely. You might think that this is a problem but it's not. If anything, it makes you connect with Kali all the more. After

This was a very good book, especially for a debut novel!! I had no clue this was Eden's debut novel. It was so well written and you don't find the drag or errors that are common with debut novels. The story line was good and kept the story flowing smoothly. My questions and desire to know more kept the pages turning. This is a big book and I would not say

The story revolves around the vulnerable Kali, who has a way of falling in trouble and getting out of it with some difficulty. A typical teenager, one could presume. Except that Kali has some terrifying and mysterious powers. Kali is oblivious to all of this, until the enigmatic Rhane enters her life. Rhane is a mystifying protector for Kali, coming to her rescue whenever she is in deep trouble. The quest for findi

Dark, mystical & action packed!

Being introduced to Eden Ashley & her style of writing was quite the wake up call, because not only does she grab right from the start of the book, she makes sure she does by the throat!

As you see the main character Kalista as a young girl, you have a ton of questions about her father, the prince and all the secrets.....then as Kali starts to have darker desires in high school for things that aren't food strange things start to happen.

This book captured my attention from the first page. I first thought it to be a typical young adult or teen paranormal romance boy was I wrong!! This author had a story line you couldn't dream up!! . I say kudos for the brilliant accomplishments of development of characters and making each one mesh so unbelievably well with the others. Again kudos for each plot twist and turn making me the reader want to keep reading to discover what happens.
