I traveled from the Middle East to USA to Ireland to Middle East and so on. Alternate Connection held something deeper than the adventure; it was about having the ULTIMATE connection either with yourself, your team, your lover, or even your family. It was much more than the mission to save hostages and finding the mole and traitor, it was coming to terms with a past that you have no control over changing and enjoying and grasping the future that you yearn for and deserve. It is about letting go ...more

Where do I begin? There is so much to tell you about Alternate Connection by Chris Almeida and Cecilia Aubrey. In this third installment of the Countermeasure Series, we get to learn what makes CIA Agent Nathan Nelson tick and why he was such a jerk in the first two books. I was actually surprised he would get a story because he was quite the PITA to the main characters of the series, Trevor and Cassandra. Nate is quite the complex character, though, and it was awesome to learn more about him.

This book was IMPOSSIBLE to put down! I started this incredible journey with Countermeasure, then To Russia With Love. I was so excited to receive an ARC copy of Alternate Connection to review.

We first met Nathan in Countermeasure, and yeah, I disliked him BUT knew he had a helluva backstory. Almeida and Aubry do not disappoint in this one. Each time they release a new book, it ups the ante for the next one.

I am not one to do a play by play and spoil it for others. I do however note what I liked

One of the most difficult reviews to write is one for a book that you loved, that moved you to tears (forget tears – full on sobs with hyperventilation and flails) for emotions stay hot, and it is hard to step back and be objective and informative without spoilers. The combination of action, emotional climax points, heartbreaking decisions and some hard won redemption for a character many thought lost just culminated in a 3 am crying jag of epic proportions. I’m still recovering as I struggle to ...more

A secret connection from the past…

This is the third book in the Countermeasure series. It’s best to read this in series order for there are continued storylines and characters whose backgrounds and relationships have already been established appearing.

When we first met CIA operative Nathan (Nate) Nelson earlier in the series he was not well-liked, his presence was an intrusion into the developing relationship between Cassandra and Trevor but he was an intriguing character and this reader was gla

I have the honor and pleasure of being one of a select few who were granted the privilege to read an Advance Reader's Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This book is due for release to the general public on 6 October 2015.

This novel could be considered a cross between Erotic Romantic Suspense and Military/Political Intrigue.

Let me start off by saying that even though this book can stand on its own, it will take on more meaning if you, the reader, have read the previous books in

I received an Arc of this book for an honest review
Wot to say about this book without giving away spoilers...here goes.
As this is the third full novel in this series we've already met most of the cast of characters Altho we've only had hints as to Nathan's girl Rae. This book brings u up to date with Trevor and Cassie, Jessica and Stephan, Dmitry and Tatiana,( Altho just briefly).
Altho it's about Nathan's struggle with loving Rae and his past it also includes more of the struggle that Trevor and

Let me start by saying that I have read all of the countermeasure series books and am a huge fan. Alternate Connection is the best so far in my opinion. It was a long wait that was well worth it.

The story-line was solid and fast-paced yet there were plot twists that the authors always expertly incorporate into their books. It is set in the Middle East and I thought the authors did an excellent job of illustrating how women are viewed in this culture. The military scenes were riveting.

I really enjoyed this book. The connection between Nathan and Rachel
was there right from the beginning. Once I started this book I could
not put it down, and felt very blessed to have received an Arc of
this book to review.

If Nathan sounds familiar, then you guessed correctly that this is
the same Nathan that is in Countermeasure, and although he was not
my favorite, he has grown on me and I love that I really get to know
him and his story in Alternate Connection.

I won't give out any spoilers be

Again, grabbing on and taking the ride the authors take you on from page one is no surprise...they're great at Romantic Suspense...and know exactly which buttons to push, character wise to keep you engaged. This is Nathan's story (and talk about heart throb/hero...Nate brings it here!), but Cassandra and Trevor are never left off the front burner...there is so much heart and emotion dedicated to both the characters and the story as a whole, that there are times when your heart just sighs...that' ...more

After reading Alternate Connection, many words come to mind...however, I feel my words do not give the authors enough credit due to them for such a magnificent read!

When a book can elicit so strong of an emotion that you are pulled into the story and can feel what a character is feeling...that's true brilliance of an author, or in this case authors! All the components in this story were so well tied together, many facets of each character were opened up and showed their true potential, to right

I have been reading the Countermeasure Series since the first book and every Bit and Byte in between. When I finished this book, I literally had no words. Alternate Connection kept me on the edge of my seat, took me around the world, and moved me to tears! It gave me a better insight into Nathan Nelson's character and I don't dislike him as I once did. Without spoiling it for other readers, any other outcome for him in this book would have been unacceptable. Another job well done, Chris and Ceci ...more

Great Book!
This is a great book; this book is part of the Countermeasure series by Chris and Cecilia Almeida. Nathan Nelson is a CIA Operative who has built his life on secrets. Rachael Moore is a Foreign Service Specialist who has risked her life to free herself from her past. When Nathan and Rachael’s path crosses they will work together to shed some light on a puzzling mystery. If you are looking for a great mystery with suspense then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to readin

Friendship; attraction; passion; withdrawal; giving up; death; remorse.
All these feelings pass by Nate and Rachael's list in recent years.

Nate and Phillip were great friends. That kind of friendship in which Nate felt more at home next to Phil's family than with his own. So it would be natural Phil invite him to be his best man.
What Nate didn't expect it was the bride of his best friend was the woman he was interested for the first sight.
Mutual attraction. But there was in the middle of a signed

The ARC was given to me from the authors in exchange of an honest review.

Before I say anything about the book let me tell you that this is the third book in the series Countermeasure. Alternate Connection is a true masterpiece. The authors have outdone themselves. This is truly remarkable. Though I read the book slowly I still had great time doing it.
The story gripped me from the very beginning and kept me on edge to the very end.

I'm not going to tell you about what happens in the book. You have the blurb and other reviews for that. I will tell you that after not like Nathan Nelson after the first two books he has redeemed himself in Alternate Connection. Chris and Cecilia know how to get your heart racing, tear ducts flowing and hot and bothered. Their books have everything all rolled into one...action, suspense, romance, and hot steamy love scenes. I love that they get all your senses involved while reading their books ...more

This is Nathan's story. While Nathan Nelson has been in both Countermeasures and To Russia With Love, he was a supporting character to Trevor and Cassandra. In Alternate Connection he becomes a lead character and we see the man behind all the layers he has hidden behind.

Nathan works for the CIA and at one time was partnered with Cassandra. What we didn't know is that there was more to his job than just being an agent. Who is he really? I have to admit that I did not like Nathan in the first two

Another exciting and steamy adventure from this dynamic writing duo, Alternate Connection starts out strong and the action so perfectly paced I couldn't put it down. Yes, another all-nighter. But well worth it. The characters are so deep with all the flaws and foibles of real people. The situations are thrilling nail-biters. The relationships have honest ups and downs. The writing is engrossing. This awesome book has earned my highest recommendations.

A great romantic, suspense filled read...a tense build-up to danger throughout that keeps you wanting more...characters are engaging and complex.
I would have liked to have seen more of Hanson and Khalil.
Foreshadowing, saw it coming, love it, hate it.
All together now: DUM DUM DUM, DUM DAH DUM, DUM DAH DUM, *up a key* DUM DUM DUM, DUM-DAH-DUM, DUM-DAH-DUM.
