I was excited to have been contacted by Malena PR to read and review J. Valor & S. Pryce’s epic novel Salome, a book I might have never come across otherwise, which would have been a shame

The House of Saba has waited mellinia for the coming of the Daughter who will save them in their time of need. It had been prophesied by the Seeress of Solomon’s wife, and each time a woman gave birth, everyone in the House waited in ectsasy and fear to see if this would be the One for whom they were waiting.

A thrilling story of a young woman who is to save the world from the utmost evil. The heroine's name is Salomé - the Peace-bringer. This fantasy novel is written in a powerful language that grips you and touches you. The description of places and people are very rich and colourful. The characters stay with you, first and foremost Elijah the prophet, the evil Magnates and - of course - beautiful Salomé herself.

I am still reading, so my final vote is yet to be made. So far I like it a lot.

I wanted to like this novel. I love new fiction and sci-fi, fantasy and horror especially, but this book was just too bloated for me to enjoy. It would have been a better novel if it had been filled with less flowery descriptives and more substance. I strongly feel there was a good novel in this book somewhere, but I did not want to wade through all the gobldey gook to get there.

Jade fell in love with the opera “Salome” as a student at the Manhattan School of Music, though deploring the wanton, blood-lusting image Salomé had been given when her only sin was to become enamored with a gorgeous hunk of prophet who then spurned and cursed her.

This was the beginning of a decade-long journey to give Salomé back her innocence that took Jade from NY to Germany where she eventuall

“It was floating. Waiting.

It had no sense of how long It had been in this state. Its awareness had retreated into a tiny core at the center of Its being, away from the searing torment of separation, Its very essence ripped apart. Never had It known such sensation. So It had retreated, further and deeper, wrapping Itself in a cocoon of Light; waiting only for a call, for an opening, that It might be reunited with Its Beloved. Waiting until...

Something stirred within. Suddenly, there is a reaching, a pulling. Its awareness opens and It is caught in a field of gravity. It plunges down, irresistibly down toward the blue planet, unable to control or navigate.”
