Excellent guide to rock hot spots around Hollywood and beyond.
If you want to know every cool hangout from the Fifties to the psychedelic Sixties to the glam Seventies to the new wave Eighties, here it is complete with photos.
Even if the place is gone there are pictures of the spot it used to stand on and I can vouch for that, because I frequented a lot of these joints in my reckless youth.

So far so good. Guide to all the landmarks like where Janis Joplin died, various recording studios where some of my favorite songs were recorded, music venues that are now retail stores sadly but saw some of the greatest line ups in history, and lots more history of L.A. in it's landmark music days.
