Falling for Jillian

Rate this book
From New York Times bestselling author Kristen Proby comes the third romance in the Love Under the Big Sky series, featuring a veteran struggling with PTSD and the one woman who can help him recover—and learn to love again.

Jillian thought she was a city girl through and through; the fast cars, high fashion, and glamour—she loves it all. But when her ex tells her he’s having a baby with his new wife (after Jillian struggled for years to get pregnant), she hightails it back to Montana to cry on the shoulder of her best friend, Cara.

But in truth, Jillian would rather be comforted by someone else…specifically Zach, Cara’s brother-in-law. Zach is a veteran of the Iraq War who came back to the family ranch to raise his preteen son after the boy’s mother took off. He’s struggling to re-establish a relationship with his son, and warding off the demons of PTSD, which still haunt him. The last thing he needs is bold, brassy Jillian…but why can’t he keep his hands off her?

Jill and Zach had a hot one night-stand a few months ago. But a misunderstood set them apart and they almost didn’t’ talk to each other again. Now Jill left Los Angeles and he’s back on their hometown and Zach is completely retired from the army and he’s also back, taking care of the Lazy K with Josh. Now that they’re together again Zach is decided to fight for them, but when you throw a teenage son, a bitchy ex-wife and fears from the past in the mix, their relationship is not off to the best start. And Zach will find out that in order to get the girl he loves, he have to fight a war bigger than the ones he already fought.

If you ever find yourself in need of a sweet romance story, low on drama and angst and full on butterflies, Kristen Proby is your best bet. Her books are always heartwarming and you know exactly what you’ll get, and I love that safety in an author that stands true to what she loves to write. This series were amazing and I loved the epilogue of it. I don’t know if this was the last book (I’m supposing it was since all the principal characters already have their story), but considering some new characters were introduced, I’m hoping for a few more books about them. Kristen, are you hearing me?!

Characters Development: Jillian was a good heroine. I liked that when things got rough she stood up for herself and didn’t turn into a whinny little girl. She was strong and fierce and that’s always good to see in a girl. Zach was also good, he was sexy and sweet and true to his feelings, I loved his relationship with Seth, who turned into a great kid and he’s definitely not the little brat from the beginning of the first book. Josh will always be my favorite so it was nice to see more of him and Cara and the rest of the characters.

I love Ms. Proby’s alpha males and this book did not disappoint. Zach King is a veteran and single dad to a preteen boy. Home from his duty in the military he is now living on his families ranch raising his son and helping his twin run the ranch. He is fiercely protective of his family and when he reacquaints himself with Jillian he is persistent on winning her over.

Jillian moved away after high school and got married. Upon returning after the breakup of her marriage she is rebuilding her life. Her support system consist of her brother, Ty, who is best friends with the King twins and Cara who is engaged to Josh King. The attraction between Zach and Jillian is undeniable. While these two may have chemistry together they do have some bumps along the way.

Seth is Zach’s twelve year old son and in a lot of ways I see him as the heart of this book. His vulnerability and humor add to the overall story. My heart went out to this young man because I really wanted him to have the family he always desired.

I cheated and skipped book two because I ran out of time in my reading schedule. In no way did I feel lost or confused while reading this book. The great part about these books are they can be read as standalones.

Ms. Proby’s books are like comfort food for the brain. Picking up her books is like eating a big bowl of macaroni & cheese. You feel good afterwards.

Oh this story and the feels! This story touched on something very personal to me, so it effected me in a way it may not effect the average reader. That being said, I truly enjoyed this story!

After discovering her husband has been cheating on her, Jillian divorces him and moves back to Montana. Jillian’s marriage was never perfect, he was verbally abuse and ignored her, in addition to their fertility problems, but when she learns he and his new wife are pregnant it’s the last straw.

Now back in Montana she runs into Zach King. Zach King is a veteran and single father to a preteen son, Seth. First, can I just say I love hot single dads, they are my kryptonite. Not to mention Zach is just a good, caring guy.

In true Proby fashion the relationship between Jillian and Zach begins pretty early on in the book, which I loved. It isn’t a case of insta-love, no it’s a case of we are adults, are interested in one another, so we are going to pursue a relationship.

I love where things took off from here. Jillian is so damaged from her past and hasn’t felt real love. She doesn’t know what it is like to have a man truly want, need and love her. Zach is marriage was a complete sham, he spent most of it away on deployments and when he was home his wife was away.

This book is a little different because we also have Seth, he is preteen who up until a year ago lived with his neglectful and abusive mother. I loved the bond between Seth and Zach, but even more I loved how Jillian was able to step in and be a mom to him.

As the story progressed I just felt like everything came full circle. I love a sweet story and I feel like Ms. Proby writes the perfect sweet story, but this ending had me feeling so much. As I said this book may not effect the average reader like it did me, but I absolutely loved how things turned out. I highly recommend this story about three broken characters who learn to heal with love, time and compassion.

This is the third book in the Love Under the Big Sky Series, but they are all about a different couple and can be read as a standalone.

Jillian and Zach had a one night stand six months ago where Jillian woke up alone and immediately flew back to LA. Now she's back in town and her and Zach have avoided awkwardness. But now Zach wants to take a shot at a relationship, but with all of his baggage from being in the army and the fact that he needs to keep a secure environment for his son might get in the way of their happiness.

To be honest, I didn't like this book as much as I was hoping I would. Loving Cara was a solid 5 star read for me, but for some reason the rest of this series isn't really working for me. This book felt recycled and predictable and I spent the middle of the book forcing myself to continue. I enjoyed the beginning and the ending which is why I'm rating this a 3.

I feel kind of horrible about this, but I think this is going to be my last Kristen Proby read for a while. I keep either giving her 3 star ratings or dnf-ing, so I'm going to take a break for a while. I loved the beginning of her With Me in Seattle series and I respect Kristen Proby as an author but at this point, I feel like I'm picking on her with my 3 star ratings.

Series track record:
-Loving Cara: 5 stars
-Seducing Lauren: dnf
-Falling for Jillian: 3 stars

I absolutely undoubtedly will class Kristen Probys reads as my Top Favourite reads for when I want that happy feeling you know a mug of coffee its raining outside sit on the settee a blanket and curl up and go into a different world, the kind of reads saved for the weekend and this was no different what I will say is this was my favourite in the series Kristen brought in a good amount of emotion into this one and I loved it!!

So what's it about?
Zach king comes with a some baggage he has a 12 year old son and he also has some PTSD with loosing guys on the field with being in the army, he came home though and now is working on the ranch with his twin brother taking the brunt of the work off his dad. Jill has come back from LA she's come home but with some baggage herself not in the case of kids but a past that has left her hurt and she wants to move forward, be near her best friends and family.

A while back Zach and Jill had a one night stand unbeknown to Jill but Zach wanted more yet he took off without saying goodbye because he had to run to be with his boy, this left Jillian thinking he didn't want her-Hurtful maybe? but there was some miscommunication left between these two which then left them both walking around each other with a without talking about it yet wanting the other, they are part of each others family's/best friends so there is no-way that they can't see each other or bump into each other, saying that when the snow hits their hometown Zack becomes the Alpha Male that we love in Kristen's books.

And they can't keep there hands off each other, Zach cares for Jill in a big way and Jill needs Zach in a big way!!
 photo DBC9FAD5-4E53-40C8-B25A-4BACAC3A2BE7_zpsctsr1ghe.jpg

Zack had to find some stable income when he found out he was going to become a father at a young age, although he adores his boy he felt stuck in a corner with nowhere to go and because of that he went into the army where he could provide for his family, yet his ex-wife was not a nice person and because of that Seth was not in a happy home. So now they're both at home on the ranch it's given him a second chance to be a father and a Good one at that.

Jillian had treatments for 5 years to become pregnant she couldn't have a baby with her ex-husband yet her ex was not the right man for her well he was an-Asshole with a capital T...(she caught him 'having sex' with another woman which concluded to Jill starting new back at home. These two have a fair amount between them that should push them away from each other and concentrate on themselves except they just can't, cheesy it maybe but when you know, you know right?

My Thoughts
I just love Kristen Proby's for that happy feeling, what I enjoyed about this one was the family element(I know she does in many but here it touched my heart deeply Jill became the mum to Seth that he needed she just loved her boys from get go, she just fell into that place and in similar ways to other mums like Josie in KA's the Will I will just say I had that same feeling with Jill in this instalment.

Zach is all Alpha he's tall sexy manly Protective and a damn good father what do they say? ANYONE can be a dad but it takes a REAL MAN to be a Father well Zach was a damn good one, he spent quality time with his boy building his relationship and trust with him yet he also taught him to be a good boy and to live happy, to work hard for what we want out of life and then to be ok to cuddle and tell each other that they love each other. Yep I did have happy tears through this I loved the boys 100% if anything the boys were right at the top before anything else in many ways.

But there they both had baggage and you can expect some emotion along the way, Kristen did a fab job writing what it feels like to have loss, to not trust, to build bridges and for second chances.

I will ALWAYS pick a Kristen Proby book straight away they're fun, light hearted yet full of moments of love and lots of sexy times that had me panting in my seat. She saved the best till last pick this one up even if you don't pick up the others you can read this as a Standalone but I still would recommend reading all three to understand all three couples and parents in this series.

This is book three in the Love Under The Big Sky series

I am surprise with Falling for Jillian. The writing is very choppy. I read some of Miss Proby's books in the past and the writing is much better.
It seems Falling for Julian is the series Miss Proby wrote at the beginning of her career as a try out.

The plot, the conversation is all choppy. More how than tell. The sex is hot. The groveling is sweet and swoony. The rest... not so good.

Falling for Jillian is the third book in the Love Under the Big Sky series and my favorite of the series.

Jillian and Zack had a one night stand months ago but because of crossed wires they have been avoiding each other ever since, now thanks to a snow storm and a broken furnace Zack come's to Jill's rescue and takes her to the Ranch to stay warm.

Spending time with each other and time with Seth Zack's 12 year old son, they quickly fall for each other again and are soon hotting up the bed sheets with sizzling sex. There are a lot of sweet family time between the three of them and the rest of the family as well and there are a lot of tender moments especially with Seth he is the cutest kid.

Both Zack and Jill have baggage from their pasts that they need to share with each other before they can have their happily ever after. Zack can be bossy which is sexy but he can also be moody at times and Jill can be stubborn.

It was great catching up with the rest of the gang from this series as only Kristen Proby can write in her books when she brings everyone together you are guaranteed a lot of LOL moments. This has everything you expect from a KP book great characters, scorching sex, flirty banter, lots of emotion and wonderful descriptions of the locations I was there in the snow.

I love Kristen Proby, I have read all 14 of her books and I devoure her stories I cannot put my kindle down, reading her stories make me happy and I am smiling while I read I love all her characters and I can't wait to read her future work.

5 - "I could have lost you before I ever really found you." Stars!

I love Kristen Proby, I don’t think there has been a book that she has written that I haven’t at least fallen a little bit in love with. Even the characters that you don’t 100% warm too, still always have a little something about them that you can get onboard with.

Falling for Jillian is the third book in the Love Under the Big Sky Series, and once again Ms. Proby has managed to bring together a cast of characters and storylines that you cannot help but feel a part of.

”You are never going to forget all of the things I’m going to do to you tonight. Every inch of your amazing little body is going to feel me.”

Zack King, being Josh’s twin brother (Book one, Loving Cara) and Jillian Sullivan being Tyler’s sister (Book Two, Seducing Lauren) have both featured pretty heavily in the series so far, there have been glimpses of the chemistry between the two of them in the previous books, so to finally get their story is an absolute treat.

The addition of Seth, Zack’s son into this story gave it an extra dimension as well as the drama surrounding his errant mother, and although this book doesn’t really offer up any surprises in its storyline (particularly the things that occur between Zack and Jill in the second half of the book), I just couldn’t put it down. Much like the With Me in Seattle Series it’s like catching up with family!

That dimple alone is going to be my undoing.

Although a great epilogue, I am hoping against hope that there will be at least one more book in this series before the author puts it to bed (although more than one, would be more than acceptable to!)

5 stars!

My favourite of the series. Friends to lovers, second chance, hot, steamy, dirty talker, sweet and romantic! Tick tick tick!
I loved Jillian and Zack's story. They had baggage, but they overcame it, eventually. From a misunderstanding from a one night stand, they tried to avoid each other. But you can only fight it for so long. And the giving on part, aaahhh! Zack had a deliciously dirty mouth, which surprised me. Alpha male and possessive. Great dad to Seth. Jillian was strong, stubborn and just fierce, especially when it came to Seth. Those 2 had a connection a shared torment. She had been hurt and broken in the past. Zack and Jilly mend each other, fit together. They are bloody hot together.
One of my favourite things in this story, Seth. He was a wonderful boy and my heart just broke for this kid. You can't help but love him and cry for him. As Jilly and Zack got their HEA so did Seth.
From 3 broken souls to one of love as a whole.
Just loved this one.

Falling For Jillian is a tender story about finding love and believing in the magic of a second chance at happiness.

Jillian and Zack are both back in their hometown looking for the love and support of their families after struggling with painful pasts. They shared a night of passion once but were both terrified of the intensity of the experience, so they both bailed and now every time they run into each other, which is often, is very awkward. Zack is a single dad who has been burned by love before so he has a hard time trusting women; his ex and the mother of his son Seth was terrible to both of them, so he can't see himself giving love another try.

Jillian wants to move on and try to see if she can have feelings for someone else other than Zack, but after a few dates she's resigned that the stubborn rancher is the one she wants, but Jillian is very independent and headstrong, so she's not willing to make the first move. After Zack sees his Jilly out on date with one of his friends, finally he decides to step up and claim her as his.

Both characters have a lot of baggage from their pasts and they will have to face some difficulties but nothing to complicated. This story was sweet and light and incredibly romantic; who doesn't love a hot Alpha Male Rancher and a feisty heroine? Even though this book is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone because the other characters do make an appearance but the author did a great job at keeping a good and smooth flow to the story but I do wish I would have read the other books as well and I actually will soon...

You’re mine.
You belong on the ranch with Seth and me,
and I’m never letting you go ever again.
I’ll screw up... I will make mistakes,
but you have to know that of every person

no one will ever love you the way I do.

Among the three books, Falling for Jillian is my favorite. Zack King and Jillian Sullivan have a natural spark (not that the previous couples don't have one). The sexual tension between them oozed and they're just so romantic. Both of them have mental baggage and had been through terrible relationships. Their relationship is imperfect as well but I love how they managed themselves and the best part Zack had to grovel his way to Jillian's heart. He said hurtful things about her and the MAN. FRICKIN'. GROVELED.

Jillian is a fantastic heroine. She loves her family fiercely and she treated Zack's son, Seth, like her own. She struggled with infertility issues and it's a rough journey especially when she had a cheating ex-husband. It was traumatic and admittedly I was a bit emotional. The epilogue is a great wrap up for the series. All the characters coming together and have a happy ending. I'm smitten.

Falling for Jillian takes place a a few months after a one night stand turned bad the next morning by misunderstandings. Jill is now back home from L.A and avoiding Zack at every opportunity she can. Zack, now retired from the Army, is home helping his brother with the ranch, raising his son, Seth. Tired of him and Jill avoiding each other he decides it's time for them to give each other a chance.

Jill has been hurt before, first by her parents and then her scumbag ex husband. It's hard for her to trust that people won't continue to let her down and not hurt her. Zack is also out of a bad marriage and it's hard for him to let go of the past and realize that not every woman is like is ex. They both have their issues but together they start to move past their problems. That is, until the past comes back...

This was definitely one of my favorite books by Kristen Proby. I loved Jill's character and how protective of Seth she was. After years of being mistreating she's become a strong heroine and has become pretty bad ass. Zack is just so yummy and a real alpha protector and I loved him. He's a wonderful dad and just made me swoon at times.

Overall, this is a very sweet romantic book and I loved all of the characters and how much they grew during the story. Definitely recommended for anyone in the mood for a swoon worthy man a kick ass heroine.

First and foremost, I absolute adore and love Kristen Proby’s books. She has a way of making her readers feel and enjoy those butterfly feelings of love. And in her newest release, Falling For Jillian, the third book of Love Under The Big Sky Series, Ms. Proby has manage to capture the hearts of her readers once again with a book that is filled with love, family, friendship, and second chances.

#FallingForJillian

Family and second chances at love and life played a big role in Falling for Jillian. This book really showcases a love so deep and a connection so strong between two people rediscovering the true meaning of love. In the first two books of the series, we were shown glimpses of sexual chemistry that were brewing between Zack and Jillian and finally when these two crossed the line from friends to lovers, things begins to heat up between them. Zack and Jillian were two broken people who were hurt in their previous relationship. Zack is a single father, whose ex-wife abandoned their 12 year old son, Seth. And Jillian is a recently divorced wife that is trying to move on with her life. Not only does Jillian had to deal with a painful betrayal in her marriage but she is dealing with scars that she has carried from her childhood that goes back from dealing with a neglectful mother. They say love can heal so can two broken people find a second chance at love?

Falling For Jillian was a book that was filled with laughter, honesty, family, friendship, love and second chances. It was one of those books, that has managed to make you feel like you were part of the gang of Love Under the Big Sky Series. And what I truly love about this book is that Ms. Proby always incorporates the whole cast of characters that readers of the series fell in love with from Josh, Cara, Ty, Lauren, Seth, Grace and Jacob. And as for the epilogue, I loved it. It definitely left a smile on my face and wanting more from Love Under the Big Sky Series. I honestly hope that there is one more book from this series and hopefully Hannah might get a shot at love. So if you are looking for a book filled with romance, little angst and full of chemistry then I highly recommend Falling for Jillian.

Jillian is returning home after her failed marriage. Life in LA is a far cry from the calm of Montana, but after her marriage falls apart due to her cheating ex; home is exactly where Jillian needs to be. Months prior she shared an incredible night with Zach, but it all ended the next morning. Now months later she can’t stop the way her body reacts to his.

Zach headed off to the military as a way to make a life for his family, when a unplanned baby comes along. Leaving Seth behind was a struggle, but he knew he had to do something to give himself a way to provide for his family. He just never expected the wickedness of the mother of his child. When Seth gets abandoned at the family ranch, Zach returns home for good. Burdened with the loss of his fellow soldiers and consumed by guilt of what his leaving caused his son to go through, Zach is making an attempt to undo the damage caused.

When the chemistry between Zach and Jillian can no longer be denied, these two just give into it. Jillian not only give Zach some peace, but she’s giving Seth something he never had before, a mother. Both have trust issues due to their past relationships, but when a surprise hits these two, it proves to be too much for Zach to deal with until some sense gets beat into him. But it might be too little too late.

So this series had started off with a bang. I loved Cara & Josh’s story and felt like Ty & Lo just didn’t live up to the first book. I was worried a little that I’d feel something similar to Jillian and Zach’s story – but I really enjoyed this one. I think the dynamic of having Seth in the picture added a different emotional pull. Gotta love a single dad.... it’s like hotness overload.

Although I really enjoyed this book, I think that we lost some aspect of their story because we got to know a little about both of them in the prior books. Although this series didn’t captivate me as much as the With Me In Seattle series, I still enjoyed these characters. I really enjoy the family aspect in Kristen’s writing. It was showcased with the Montgomery’s and it carried over to this series as well.

Falling for Jillian turned out to be yet another awesome story in this series. Zach and Jillian had both been through relationship nightmares and considered themselves to have a lot of baggage. Jillian was a strong, yet vulnerable heroine. She fell for Zach and his preteen son Seth. I loved her interaction with Seth. So heartwarming. When life throws them a curve ball, Zach reacts poorly and hurts Jillian. I appreciate that he tried hard to apologize, I also appreciate that Jillian didn't make it too easy on him. Thank you Kristen Proby for writing a story that shows romance and love. No cheating, no ow/om drama and a HEA. I want more from these couples!

4.5 "Sugar" Stars for the Story and 5 "Fantastic Performers" Stars for the Narration!

Falling for Jillian is a gripping story about second chances, and how love heals all wounds. I loved the attention in this story not only to the couple, but also to how their relationship affected the hero's 12 year-old son. It's funny, in the romance genre there seems to be a glut of billionaires, powerful CEOs, rock stars, athletes, etc; but it's been a while since I've read an honest to good love story between two ordinary people. Falling for Jillian is a wonderful story in that regard. It is this authenticity that makes the story so poignant, raw and true.

First it is worth noting that although there is definitely some carryover of prior characters, each book in the Love Under the Big Sky Series can be read as a standalone. In that regard, although this is Book 3 in the series, this is the only book I have read; and I had no trouble following the story line as each book focuses on the love story of a different primary couple. This fact notwithstanding, I did get the sense that both Jillian and Zach had been introduced in prior books. Accordingly, if you plan to read the whole series, then it is best read or listened to in order.

Jillian Sullivan has not been lucky in love. Now divorced, she tried for years to get pregnant only to have her husband cheat on her. It is the news of her ex-husband's impending fatherhood that sends her packing back to Montana, where her best friend Cara lives.

Her unexpected reunion with Zach King, Cara's brother-in-law who Jillian once had a steamy one-night stand with, stirs up all kinds of feelings. But Zack hasn't had an easy time at love either. Having become a father as a teenager, only to find that when he left to the army to support his family, his wife maltreated their son, Seth; has had its devastating effects. He is now a single father and has vowed to make it up to Seth. Therefore any future love interest will need to love both him, and his now preteen son, in equal measure. He also, like many former soldiers, suffers with the haunting effects of PTSD.

Can Jillian and Zach possibly strike up a viable HEA under the weight of their past love life demons? Moreover, when their trust in each other is truly tested, will they choose love or resign themselves to the inevitability that love will always fail them?

Further bolstering this already great tale is the marvelous performance by Elizabeth Louise and Deacon Lee. The narration in this title is split by chapter depending on whose POV is being shared. Elizabeth Louise narrates the chapters told from Jillian perspective, which comprise a slightly larger majority of the chapters, and Deacon Lee those recounting Zack's.

Both Mr. Lee and Ms. Louise do a fabulous job of producing distinguishable character appropriate voices for each of the cast members in Falling for Jillian, thereby doing away with the need to rely on dialogue tags. Moreover, each giftedly communicates the particular emotion being enacted in each scene bringing it to life in a way that the print copy alone could never achieve. The narration therefore heightened the effect such that this title felt more like a movie, than a book.

Lovers of real world romances will not want to miss Falling for Jillian. Further adding to this already enticing package is the superb narration by Elizabeth Louise and Deacon Lee which makes this a great title to experience in audiobook format!

Another amazing book by Kristen Proby! Seriously, I love the characters she writes and she never disappoints me! This story is told from dual pov's and can be read as a standalone.

Falling for Jillian follows the story of Jillian and Zach. Jillian has just moved back home after ending her marriage. She's trying desperately to move on with her life. However, moving on isn't easy, especially when she finds out that not only has her ex remarried, but also gotten his new wife pregnant; something Jillian has struggled with for years. All she wants is to find that spark, that connection that everyone deserves....

Zach is everything that Jillian wants. But, a misunderstanding is keeping the two of them apart. And that's not the only thing, both of them have baggage and are afraid of letting anyone get close.......Zach is a war veteran and is struggling with PTSD. As if that wasn't enough, he's having to undo all the damage his ex has done to their son. The last thing he expected was to fall for Jillian. Only,Jillian is exactly what Zach and his son need. But when another misunderstanding happens, it all blows up in Zach's face. Zach has been hurt and lied to before. Will he able to move forward and put his fears behind him? Or will he be too late and loose the love of his life???

I loved, loved Falling for Jillian. I've been waiting for Jillian and Zach's story for a while now and I was not disappointed. I was pulled into their story right away. I've been needing some answers since we first met them in Loving Cara and was so happy to finally get them.

Falling for Jillian is a great book about family, and finding love again. Kristen Proby gave me everything that I was looking for: great writing, angst, romance, steam, great chemistry and a HOT alpha male. One of the things I love about these books is that the romance is sweet. There's some angst, but not too much. It's always just the right balance.

Overall, I found this book to be really enjoyable. I think the story wrapped up pretty nicely and I couldn't be happier with the way things ended. I would love for there to be another book in this series, but if not, I'm ok with that too. If you are a fan of this series or Kristen Proby's books, you will be disappointed. It's a fantastic read and I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did!

In my review of Loving Cara, book 1 in the Love Under the Big Sky series, I commented that the book contained one of the best scenes ever for a secondary character; well that 4th of July scene with Zack King so had me wanting his happy and Ms. Proby did not disappoint. I was lost in this book and now THIS is my new favorite Kristen Proby book!

Falling for Jillian tells the story of Zack King, the twin brother we met in Loving Cara (book 1) when he returns from war. This book pairs Zack with Jillian Sullivan, Cara’s best friend (book 1) and Tyler’s sister (Seducing Lauren book 2).

This book is masterfully written; the reader gets character growth from Zack and Jillian but also from Seth, Zack’s son who has such a heart wrenching past. This boy’s evolution through the series is truly a testament to Ms. Proby’s talent.

That is why I want to say I strongly recommend these books be read in order as the tension between Jillian and Zack along with their one night stand that leads to a misunderstanding is in book 1 and the escalating sexual tension continues in book 2.

Also Seth in the opening of book 1 and his character development is so well done, this young boy truly grows and develops as he goes from hating his dad, to understanding his dad to worshiping his dad. Ms. Proby hit the ball out of the park with this part of the series and again I think it is truly experienced best read straight through.

As Zack and Jillian give into their sexual tension and allow themselves to feel for each other, I was so captivated by the man under the thick skin. Zack and Jillian build an easy comfort with each other that so had me rooting for them

Both come to the relationship with a past and yes it is this past that comes back to cause issues; for me the unfolding of these events felt so true to the characters created.

Zack and Jill prove that sometimes you pick the wrong person first, sometimes the heartache of lives leads you to the right place at the right time. Both Zack and Jilly were wounded but in the end the person they become made them stronger as a couple.

The end of the book was truly a wonderful completion to a fabulous 3 book series.

Having said that, I do hope at a later date we get a 3 book Hull family series, as I would love to get to know Brad, Max and Jenna better!

Wow just wow. Kristen Proby really knocked it out of the park with this epic book! I loved this book I freaking love it so much!

This is definitely my favorite Kristen Proby book and in my opinion, the best one she’s written.

First off the way it started was hot because we already knew the story of how they got together from book 1. The lust was there, the love was there and these are definitely the best sex scenes this author has written that I’ve read so far. You could just feel the passion and connection between Jillian and Zack in this book.

I loved everything about it from Seth’s part to the way he treated her- everything! I love her so much as well. I seriously loved the character Jillian. She was written really well. I’m being biased because I can personally identify with her life and her issues with her mother. She had it so hard. Jill is Ty’s sister so he and all the other lovable characters are in this book as well.

Jillian has to be by far my favorite female heroine ever. She is so freaking strong, badass, kind and made literally ALL the right decisions! That is so rare in a book. Usually, you’re sitting there so angry at the characters for being so stupid. Not Jill. Literally every single time she did something so amazing I was like yes Jill!! Literally me this whole book being obsessed with Jill lol no but really, she’s amazing and you’ll see why.

There are such fun scenes I truly enjoyed every single minute of this. Zack and Jill are actually my favorite couple of any book I’ve read so far I think. It was just such a deep and loving beautiful relationship love story I couldn’t get enough of it. Good job Proby!

Falling for Jillian is the third book in Kristen Proby's Love Under the Big Sky series. It is the story of Jillian and Zach. Jillian is the best friend of Cara from Loving Cara Book 1 and Ty's sister from Seducing Lauren. Zach is the twin brother of Josh from Loving Cara which sets up the series.

Jillian has known Zach her entire life as he is best friends with her brother. She has recently moved back to town after her divorce and is slowly rebuilding her life. Zach has returned to town from the military and is working on his family's ranch with his brother.

What I love about Kristen Proby is that she intertwines her series and characters so if you have read the first two books you have seen the heat between Jillian and Zach. Don't worry if you haven't but this book will make you go back and read the first two.

There is serious heat between the two but they are both so gun shy. Jillian has baggage from her childhood and divorce while Zach has guilt from being away from his son for so long while in the military. Zach's son Seth is a huge part of the relationship between Zach and Jillian. She was in love with Seth before Zach. :)

The story picks up with Zach and Jillian trying to ignore a particularly steamy evening they had together but they keep running in to each other. AWKWARD! He wants to keep his distance. She is open but confused by his actions because he does one thing and says another.

They finally decide to give in to their chemistry and keep it casual. I liked that there was a build up to their feelings for each other. It didn't happen overnight and they both didn't try too much to over think it.

Zach is such a hottie! He called her "Sugar" and I melted! Their first Christmas together was so sweet!

As with all things, there are misunderstandings and assumptions. One of the reasons Jillian was wary of serious relationship was due to a big issue in her marriage. There is something that unexpectedly happens between Zach and Jillian and while she is happy, Zach's reaction is not what she expected. Let's just say it takes some harsh words from his 12 year old son, for him to get his head out of his ass! Zach's son helps these two figure out they are meant to be.

This series was Kristen's first with a major publisher. I loved her With Me Series and hoped that she wouldn't lose her steamy, passionate, smexy independent self with this series and she didn't! This series had a great build to this book. I hope that we will see more from some of the secondary characters introduced and keep up with couples from Love Under the Big Sky!

4.5 Fierce Stars

This was my favorite of this series.

Jillian is back in Montana after finding out her cheating ex-husband is having the baby she always wanted with his new wife. But that means she's back in Zach's sphere, especially since her best friends and sister-from another-mother, is living with and engaged to Zach's twin brother, Josh.

A misunderstanding from their encounter in Loving Cara has caused both Zach and Jill to think the other isn't interested. Once they clear it up, they are finally together, but they both have past hurts that impact their current relationship.

Zach's son, Seth, loves Jill. When it looks like Zach may have screwed up the relationship with no hope for reconciliation, Seth tries to help fix it.

I loved Seth in this book. He was sweet and loving and funny. The dynamic between he and Jill was fantastic. She would go through fire to protect him and he would do anything to keep her safe and his dad.

There were great moments of hilarity, a few surprises, and some sad moments.

Like I said at the beginning, this was my favorite in this series. I hope the series continues with the cop and the doctor. I loved how all of the character from the books continue to have very prominent showing in all of the installments. No one is left out.

Definite recommend.

No, just no.
Look, I get that Zack has some previous trauma about women lying to him but If he truly loved Jill he would've accepted the baby the first time she told him. Sure, she could've lied but he should've stayed and listen to her because that baby is his too. The fact that he accepted Kensi when she was pregnant but he didn't love her and wouldn't accept Jill the woman he loves makes me really mad.
I'm sorry if I'm being harsh but the worst thing an MC can do is not accept their baby and no matter what he does and how he justifies it in my mind he can't be forgiven.
I am only giving it a 2 star because I loved Ty and Seth if not I would've given it a 1 star.

Coffee dates with Falling for Jillian

Kristen Proby is a new to me author and I decided to venture into this contemporary on audio. It was quite the experience with its dual pov’s and heated romance.

First date: Jillian has decided to return home to Montana. She is recovering from a failed marriage and the realization that she will never be a mother.  However, she is happy to be back among friends and closer to her brother. I quickly learn that Jillian had a one-night stand with Zach, her best friend’s brother-in-law. He is now home in Montana raising his pre-teen son after a disastrous marriage and military tour. Right away, I am curious about these too. Jillian is sweet, and while she has baggage, she is confident and knows what she wants. I am not quite sure of Zach, the man may have issues but I am not quite ready to snuggle up to him yet. We shall see.

Second date: Oh, my…first detailed sex scene on audio folks. It was hot and more detailed than I expected. If you could have seen me, pulling out the earbuds like those suckers were on fire, and look around as if others could hear what I was hearing. I have no problem with heat and in fact love it from time to time, but looking at the cover, I didn’t quite expect this amount of detail. Whoa, baby! It was yummy but oooh my virgin ears! I am enjoying getting to know this couple and their circle of friends and family. While it is not necessary to have read the previous books, I am finding I want to know more about the other couples. After taking a deep breath, giggling a little and listening to that first sex scene the next one was better for me. Proby writes delicious, believable and hot sex scenes. While it just took some adjustment to having, it read to me I enjoyed these moments. I am in love with Seth, Zach’s son and his adorable dog. The interaction between the characters has endeared me to them and I am hoping for happily ever after.

Third date: Uh-oh there has been a little hiccup and boy howdy has Zach mess up, but then so does Jillian and I am about ready to slap them both in the back of the head. While I get they have baggage and understand Zach’s initial reaction this is a prime example of why when faced with shocking news you take a deep breath and process, before you open your mouth. The dual perspectives allowed us to understand the characters even if we did not always agree with their behavior. This last date was filled with angst, and some very sweet moments. The climax had me holding my breath and smiling. Despite turbulence, the story was nicely balanced with family moments, friends and encounters with the past. I ended up pulling out my ear-buds feeling warm and fuzzy. This was a quick audio date at just under seven hours.

Falling for Jillian is Book 3 in the Love Under the Big Sky series. This book is a fast read. The narrative gets to the point pretty quickly. Kristen Proby has a very easy writing style that is straightforward and engaging. I enjoyed the interaction between the two characters. Their relationship felt sweet. The drama doesn't take a deep dive, maybe because although I liked the characters, I did feel not invested in them. I think I may have missed out a bit by reading this out of order.

Jillian has come home after being betrayed by her ex-husband. This combined with growing up with an abusive father has left her world-weary and gun shy about love. Zack is a rancher, twin brother to Josh (from Loving Cara) and father of Seth. He enjoys the ranching life and after a career in the military and serving time during a war, he is ready for the quiet life. After a scorching one-night stand, they each walked away with the wrong idea about one another. (I am assuming this happens in a previous book.) This books starts with the two of them already fighting a strong attraction to one another. Needless to say, it doesn't take long for the heat to get turned up high and I was sweating through some of their romantic interludes.

I wish that I could've learned more about Zack's military experience. Although this book is not about PTSD, the blurb alludes to it, but the book doesn't deal with it at all. In fact, as one character put its, Zack deals more with the PTSD from his relationship with his first wife than he does with his time in war. Perhaps, there is more about Zack in the earlier books.

I’m not going to lie: I got a nasty surprise when I started reading this book and discovered it was written in first person, present tense! It’s something pretty inescapable in current fiction for young readers, but it’s not something I would ever have expected to find in an adult contemporary romance.

Clearly Kristen Proby is a good writer. I enjoyed her characters and the very “real” feel they had about them. This is contemporary romance with genuinely contemporary characters. If you like the type of series set in a small town, with friends going about their business (think Jill Shalvis and Shannon Stacey) this series is similar.

I do think I missed out by starting the series with this one, the third book. There’re lots of people who I’m sure you would know a lot better if you read in order.

My problem was that I really couldn’t get past the point of view:

As I approach the little house that I rent from my best friend, Cara, I see that the snowplow, thankfully, has been down my street already, but then I see that they blocked in my driveway.

And

“Oh my God!” I scream and run away from him.

Proby is a good writer, but I’m far from the only one who doesn’t like stories from this perspective. An interesting series, and even though the characters are older, the tense is probably something that will appeal more to the New Adult fiction crowd.

Really enjoyed it. This series is killer. Definitely recommend it!

I liked the book.. loved it really. I love this whole series. I think all of them have been really good, although I do have to say that my favorite is still Loving Cara (book#1).
I have an issue with one part of the book where Zack gets all nutty when Jilly is hugging her friend, Max. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a little possessiveness and alpha male type attitude but that was so random and it was like a snap (I want to say instinct but that's not the word I'm looking for..). And it happened so fast. He was storming over and demanding to leave then he's fine and "sinking in" to Jill. It was quick and a little unnecessary for me, I just didn't care for it. If it had played out differently, maybe lasted a little longer or happened at a different point in the book then I don't think it would have bothered me as much.
I do have to say that I'm very glad I read Loving Cara before this to get a little more background on Seth and his mom and how that came to be. Proby does a great job explaining the situation in this book but I am very happy that I read the other first.

Just a random side note for me is that I really wish that we could have had a scene at the end before the epilogue where Zack and Jill told Seth that they were back together and about the babies. It would have made me happy and squeal like a little girl with joy because I know it would have been sweet and cute. (That's just me though..)

This is my favorite book in the series! I loved Zack and Jilly! I have been waiting for Jill's story since Loving Cara and this did not disappoint. Single dad Zack has been through a lot - he's served in the military and went to war. While he was away, his ex-wife was shacking up with guys who would hit his son. When he moves home to the ranch and has custody of his son, Seth, his priority is being a good dad. Jilly had a bad marriage, tried for years to get pregnant and couldn't. One day, she comes home and finds her husband in bed with his secretary. Two days after their divorce, he marries the secretary and announces her pregnancy. To get away, Jill moves back to her Montana hometown to be with her best friend and brother. When she moves home, she gets the chance to reconnect with some old friends. Zack and Jill have fantastic chemistry. This book was super steamy and actually pretty sweet as well. I loved their relationship and Jill's relationship with Seth and Zack's parents. This wasn't overly angsty but had enough angst to keep it interesting. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to see if there's going to be another book in this series (maybe a certain new doctor in town??)
