I'm not sure how to exactly describe this book other than WOW! I thought Tim did an amazing job with his first book, Voyage of a Viking, but his new book was an amazing read. Very well laid out on how to truly develop confidence. One of the best chapters was number 5 which was about finding our anchors and learning to let them go. Would highly recommend this book to everyone I know, whether they have confidence or not we all have something to learn in these pages.

After reading this for a second

July 2013 - It's wonderful to have several hours set aside in which to read, but I rarely get that. Instead, I read this book while administering the IOWA tests to my students, and managed to finish it in only three days. Tim is an excellent speaker and his writing reflects his humility and conversational style. The book is funny, thoughtful and easy to read. Particularly useful were the sections on evaluating and changing self talk and thoughtfully recognizing, but not being hindered by, the pa ...more

I love this book!. Full of wisdom and perspective, as I expected it would be, but going one step further, it packs a one-two punch of what we all deal with on the surface, and what we all have in common deep inside. This book will take you on a journey and lead you into discovering the very things that undermine your confidence in running full out for the life God has called you to. If you, or someone you know, is struggling to realize their potential, unshackle their past or just believe they a ...more
This is a book that needs to be read over and over again. It's full of so much helpful information, personally and professionally. Tim knows how to hit the heart strings and tug to get you moving. You will find out a lot about yourself. ...more

This book has so many tidbits to help a person know their worth. He has great humor. It is not a one time read. I will read it again. I am taught to argue with the author when I don't agree with something and there are two things I want to address. On page 206 he refers to spanking with love. To me those two words shouldn't be in the same sentence. I know Proverbs references beating with the rod. My opinion is the rod references "the word of God." No one can get too much of that beat into them ( ...more

Tim Marks has done it again with the excellent book Confidence of a Champion.
This goes through six principles on how yo become more confident in everything we do. The author doesn't just skim over each principle, he goes in depth and really teaches the meaning behind and gives practical application to further develop these principles into our lives. I also enjoyed little tests and things of that nature throughout.
The thing I didn't like about this book is that it only came out recently. This b

Tim's second book is another grand slam! In his first, (Voyage of a Viking) we learned who Tim is as a "fellow traveler" on the narrow path. He shared transparently his journey up 'til now and how his relationships with many shaped him into the Leader of men and women he had become.
In Confidence of a Champion, Tim shares the anecdotes that shaped him and how he has learned and grown from them. I hope to use this book, reading it often, marking, highlighting and putting into practice the self as

When Tim Marks released his first book, Voyage of a Viking, I was blown away. I read it in one sitting. Confidence of a Champion was just as good, if not better. I've read a handful of books that I would consider similar and I would say that this book is even better than The Magic of Thinking Big. I highly recommend it. ...more

Author Tim Marks proves again that he is not only a world renowned motivational speaker, but also a top flight author.
This was a book that was a joy to read, full of insightful glimpses into what constitutes confidence. The author has provided numerous self tests and methods of improving self confidence by confronting and overcoming life's negative baggage.
Read this book, you will not be sorry!

Good book. Many important points made, although his continual referencing of God makes me a little uneasy.

YES! Timmy here has written a real masterpiece about realizing your true potential, especially after some people you thought were your friends try and get the drop on you. Strengthenthing your inner champion is all about letting the negativity out of your life, which is why I've served Melania an eviction notice. She probably can't read the damn thing, but if she could she'd see that she has to take that weirdo kid of ours and all of her shitty perfume out of my beautiful life. We can't realize ...more

Edward L. Brown is a man I have long looked up to as one of those rare leaders in my life. One day he sent me an email and recommended that I read this book. Perhaps he discerned that I was struggling with self-doubts. At the time, I was embattled with old and false stories about myself that had depleted my confidence and in some ways left me rudderless. I bought the book, read it cover to cover and marked it up as I went. When I finished, I reviewed my highlights as a means of digesting and app ...more

If you really want to reflect and look hard but most of all adjust your thinking on how you view yourself. This book will help with that and so much more. I'm going through a second time and probably more after to really study how to like me more. Forgiving myself is the hardest things to do or give yourself grace. (Chapter 6 cut your anchors)doesn't just talk theory or pontificate what may work. Tim Marks really dug deep and puts together things that will really make a difference in your life I ...more

Many practical suggestions for improved confidence. A lot of thought provoking analysis of myself; my life events, feelings, and reactions. This book was very helpful in guiding a proper perspective of the past with hope for the future. I needed to rely more heavily on God's word than I would have hoped. Some advice was skewed by self-centered motivation and manipulation. But by relying on my knowledge of God and his will, this book helped me think critically and find new perspectives to evaluat ...more

This is a masterfully written book on self assessment, awareness and how to activate the seeds of greatness that God placed in each of us. I am not even finished with the book (as I write this) but I already know I'll be using this as a study guide and reading it over and over.

Thanks to Tim Marks and Obstacales Press for this blessing.

As someone who has struggled with confidence, I appreciate the principles Tim lays down in Confidence of a Champion. Those who follow them will gain confidence.

I especially enjoyed Tim's candour and humility in sharing his own struggles. This, combined with a conversational, easy reading style, make this book a winner. I recommend it.

Not only can this book inspire confidence in the reader, but Tim Marks provides exercises to work on to help the reader work through the psychological issues that deal with the root causes of doubt and limiting beliefs. This is a great book.

Tim has put together pieces of several great books to create one that truly answers all the questions one may have because they lack confidence in an area of their life. It truly is a terrific, comprehensive book, that helps the reader and reminds the reader to take the time needed to reflect.
