A perfect mix of fun, fantasy, adventure, suspense and love.

Alissia Roswell is a textbook survivor of a life of hard knocks which has left her with internal scars and impenetrable walls. Impenetrable, that is, until her world gets turned upside down and inside out, literally. As Alissia awakens from yet another traumatic experience she is shocked to discover that she is in a new world where some things are similar, but others are very different.
I really enjoyed following Alissia on her journey through this new world as she is challenged in ways she has never imagined and in ways she has only dared to dream of. I loved it and can't wait to find out what becomes of Alissia Roswell next!!!

Alissia Roswell is no stranger to trouble and difficulty and she has always taken pride in being able to take care of herself. Then she has a strange experience that leads her to discover the existence of a new world that coexists with ours. As she is forced to rely on other people she finds unexpected friendships and love. She tries to fit into this new world but her body begins to change making it hard to go unnoticed. The changes are so shocking that she questions whether she is even human anymore. She discovers that the new world around her is full of mystery, danger, and beauty. The story is of her journey through this world to find truth and understanding of who she is and what she is to become.
I enjoyed reading the book and learning about the challenges that Alissia faces in the strange and magical new world. The story is well written with engaging, fun characters. I want to know what happens to them next, I can't wait for the next book!

Frustrating, to say the least.

Ugh, why couldn't this have been written better? I actually liked the storyline and the characters. But because of the way the author wrote it, the reader was so detached from the story. With the overuse of had, became, and other passive filter words, the action seemed so blasé. AND, what was the obsession over baths? The character took hundreds of them! For roughing it on the road, every night she was clean. The main character, constantly over thought everything. And she "realized" stuff all the time. I just about died, when near the end, several paragraphs were used to describe the dragging of two bodies through the woods. So unnecessary, but hilarious. For some reason I read that scene aloud to my daughter. She thought I was crazy. "Mom, what the heck are you reading?"

Okay, okay. The final wrap up had me drooling, and just about when I wanted to throw this book across the room, that ending made me scream and ask, why, oh why wasn't this written better? It could have been awesome. Not sure if I'd give the squeals a read, unless they are free. I just can't suffer through the writing.

But darn, I really want to know how this love triangle fleshes out. All rats. I need a Reader's Digest version.

Unexpected Metamorphosis has everything I love about modern fantasy. New worlds, strong female leads, gripping action sequences, and beautiful scenery that captivates the imagination. Not to mention a love triangle that will leave every reader torn between two very different characters. I would definitely recommend you check out Unexpected Metamorphosis. I promise it will leave you dying to know what happens next!

I loved it! A great book to read, but it is hard to put down once you begin reading. I loved the characters, they are very realistic and believable. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in fantasy or romance. One thing I really liked about this book is that it had a great story line. I loved the fantasy world and can't wait for the next book!

I am almost done with this first book, but still feel like I should write the review. I found this series while searching for a completely different book, but with a similar title. The cover was intriguing and I read an excerpt and enjoyed the author's writing style. It starts out at a slower pace, yet is still enjoyable. Once Alissia comes across Luke, things take off at a faster pace. I find that this is another book that I cannot, and do not want to, put down. I wish I had found this series when it was first published, but at the same time, am thankful I did not. Recently read that the author is going to be finishing the last book in this series, which is AWESOME. So hopefully, by the time I get through the fourth book, the final book will be out.
If you like fantasy, with a touch of romance, this would be a great series to add to your list.

This is one very interesting book because you can't predict much from the synopsis and when the story begins to unfold you feel as curious as ever to discover what is happening to the protagonist and what more is about to happen to her.

The whole scenery is enchanting to imagine and I do appreciate a healthy dose of fantasy, paranormal, romance and even some fast paced action and discoveries, both physical and mental. It's easy to like the characters and to read as much as I could.

Even though there seems to be a love triangle, I didn't feel frustrated with it and I even felt as confused in my feelings towards both guys like Alissia.

I like Alissia's personality and how she never really gives up when she has an objective in mind. She's a very determined and strong woman and I like that she wants to be able to protect herself and be in charge of her new future, one she never expected to have.

It's not always that I get to read something that brings contrary feelings in me. I want to read as fast as I can to see what happens but not wanting to get to the end of the book, and this is one of them. Great read!

I received this autograph copy by the author through Goodreads giveaway.

You are drawn into a world of another realm with a heroine who was born one way but changes as she enters into a different place where she is an outside in all manners from physical appearance to hidden powers. She becomes a pawn learning about her new world and trying to remain from being capture.

Trying to figure who she can trust for someone who doesn't trust anyone due to her past. We are drawn to her as we watch her slowly change and the tainted with male figures.

In the end we wonder if she will end up with either one and if she will return to her world. I see the ending of the book as a start for another book since nothing is solved. She is still wanted woman who has no idea who she is.

A fast paced read that took me about 3.5 hours.

This was an inviting story of an alternate reality with a fairyland flavor steeped in political intrigue. There is a love triangle that slowly builds and leaves you unsure who you want to have win the girl. I look forward to the next book! Will she escape, find her way home, figure out what happened to her and why? Who will she decide to trust with her heart? She is a strong, brave, survivor. Her childhood and teen years were ruff and left her cold and guarded. I liked watching her growth and forgiving heart; yet, she is willing to do hard things to protect herself. She has earned my admiration. The four stars and not five are because I felt the beginning was a tad slow starting and the story occasionally choppy causing me to pause and reread a paragraph to discover how I lost my way. Despite these few flaws, I loved it! It was refreshingly different.

A great debut. A good start to a fun story and...it happens to be free on smashwords atm. Hooray!
I love a good memory loss/kidnapping/alternate reality story and when we add a little romance to it, I fall straight into it. There is magic as well, a feisty heroine, and set up with an old times feeling....what is not to enjoy?
A love triangle is already started and you really don't feel like you get very far into the overall story yet, but I can be patient, if it worth the wait.
And Book 2 is out!

Unexpected is right

well, overall I want to say I liked the book. Up until the end it wasn't great, but not bad. The ending (for me at least) was awful. I know I hate cliffhangers, but this was like a left out chapter. It didn't just leave you going what happens now. It left yup saying WTH!
for the rest of the book it was a little confusing. I think I'm pretty smart and my imagination is good (thankfully) or I would have been lost. Between the grammatical errors and missing info you need to allow for extra time.

Part fantasy, part romance, all adventure - this was a trip to another realm. The author takes us on a journey of a young woman suddenly yanked out of her world and filled with questions, most of which there are no ready answers. Her journey pulls you in with hopes, love, mystery, and always the unexpected turn. It was an enjoyable read. PG13 for sexual suggestions.

This book tried so hard to be proper, that the fun is sucked out of the plot. It would have been a good story had the author made it interesting. Instead, the book reads like a high school English paper, with conversations so forced, it's a wonder my Kindle is still in one piece. At 54%, I find myself unwilling to promote the torture of this book.
