Does EllRay have a talent to put on show for the entire school?
When EllRay and his friends hear about the school talent show, they’re not impressed. They’re too old for that stuff. But their teacher, Mrs. Sanchez, isn’t so quick to let her students off the hook. Five students absolutely must try-out, and EllRay somehow ends up being one of them. Now he has to figure out something he’s talented at….like, maybe magic?
But now the pressure’s on. It’s up to EllRay to take the stage and show his classmates and the whole school that he’s not only talented but magic.

EllRay has second thoughts about his magic act, until his dad helps him out with his problem. The talent show is a success, and EllRay feels the magic all around him as his best friend Kevin rejoins the fold. Ms. Sanchez loves the gift that the class gave her, and thanks him personally for thinking of what to give her, and she promises that she will always be there for him. All is all it has been an abracadabra kind of day.
This book is even better than EllRay Jakes is a Rock Star! EllRay has developed into a leader in his third grade class, although he wouldn't acknowledge it! Other kids (just some) call him bossy, when he makes suggestions. He and his dad have a better relationship. EllRay is able to help his sister, Alfie, overcome her fear of magic tricks.
