Meet the newly animated Peter Rabbit! Donned in his father's blue coat, Peter is as frisky and adventurous as ever. His mother has given him his father's old journal--full of adventure stories, secret escape routes, and empty pages for Peter to fill in himself. This classic rabbit, along with his best friends, Lily Bobtail and Benjamin Bunny, is ready for another adventure!
This adaptation of Peter Rabbit was not directly from the classic. Overall the story line is alright, but the repetition and words used are great for emerging readers, which bumped up my rating from a 2 star. Guided Reading Level F. The only thing I didn't like is that there were black words on heavily colored pages that sometimes made it difficult to clearly see the words.
Decent. Nothing really wrong with it, and I'm sure it's playing on some gimmick from the Nick Jr. show, but the over use of the "hop away" catch phrase really just dampened my enjoyment of the book because they used it SO MUCH.
