My favorite part about this book was how many times the Blessed Mother or Jesus accepted the interruptions of her children, and told her to tend to them. They would wait. Those moments reminded me that motherhood isn't exactly a contemplative vocation, but an active one.
I love this book. Mind you, you must be a devout Catholic to care what this book says, but I am, so it speaks to my very soul. I read it this Lent (for the second time... the first was about 20 years ago). This time I'm taking notes, and trying to live out what the book recommends.
I received this book from a friend 22 years ago in 1992 when our second child was born. It has influenced my life tremendously and I aspire to live the Apostolate in the silence of my soul to accomplish the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. You will never be the same.
I know that several women I know have read this book and have gotten a lot out of it. It wasn't my cup of tea. And, I would rather read something from an approved apparition. This one hasn't been.
This is the second time I've read this...the first time being back in the early 2000s. It contains the writings of an unidentified housewife who recorded her visions of May and the Christ Child speaking to her over the course of a couple of years. The messages she receives urge her to launch a ministry to spread the word about the holiness of motherhood and how mothers/wives can and should live for Christ. I love reading books like this. It's astounding.
Private revelation approved by Catholic Church that I highly encourage all Catholic women to read and put into practice. Truly a life changer if you take it to heart!
