Full disclosure: Israel Parker is my writing partner and I've seen this book grow from a single word to the epic-length novel it is today. This makes it both effortless and extremely difficult to write a review that does justice to this story.

GREEN VALLEY starts as a quirky sci-fi set a few decades in the future in what was once a pastoral town in my home state of Ohio. The reader is lulled into thinking, "Ah, another somewhat dystopian book with veiled warning of what's to come if we don't

This book is fast paced, action packed, and leaves you wanting more! The good news... There is more to come as this is the first book in a series. There is more to life than you what you see on the surface in Green Valley! It is a place where good and evil battle. Technology is advancing beyond anyone's expectations causing a rift in mankind that could dramatically change the human race in a way that ,until now, was unimaginable. You won't be able to put this book down as the characters pasts ...more

GREEN VALLEY is a literary cocktail of dystopia, sci-fi, horror and psychological thriller with a little bit of romantic comedy thrown in for good measure. The technological details of the dystopian world are fun, completely believable and amazingly creative. The tactical descriptions are also spot-on and not so overdone that they slow the pacing, which is breakneck most of the time. And just when you think you have things figured out—BAM! You get dropkicked by another shocker, and it’s even ...more

Israel J. Parker's Green Valley is a brilliantly original and often disturbing fiction about a future United States where nothing is as it seems. This genuinely well written story is full of immense twists and turns, and characters that are perfectly developed. My heart was pounding with excitement and anticipation as I lost myself in the futuristic world created by Mr. Parker. Don't start reading this book unless you've set aside a few hours to finish it in the same sitting - you're not going ...more

This page-turner grabbed me from the start and was relentlessly suspenseful to the end. The characters are devilishly delightful. Here you will find a peaceful, progressive city in which people live productive, happy lives – on the surface. But this faux-Eden is not what it seems. There is a serpent in the garden and it’s not the elusive murderer, Clarence Jasper. As Milton Simon tracks the outlaw he uncovers a harrowing secret that causes him to question everything he previously held sacred.

Parker was a juvenile nomad until his family settled in Henderson, Nevada. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard, later enrolling into the Coast Guard’s elite Helicopter Rescue Swimmer Program. He was one of only four members to graduate in his class.

In 2004, Parker was stationed at Air Station New Orleans. A year later, Hurricane Katrina nearly destroyed the Crescent
