The basis for this story is a cooking reality show and the reality show aspect really exhibits itself in the over-the-top characters and happenings. Ty and Ashton work well together but their interactions are also fleeting and rushed due to the secretiveness(Ty's the host/judge of reality competition show Ashton is on). There was some good tension with heated glances when they were filming for the show and around the contestants and crew but as far as an in depth and fleshed out relationship, it

I received an ARC through NetGalley.
I use to be really addicted to Top Chef, Hell's Kitchen, and Master Chef, so I figured I'd enjoy Some Like it Spicy. I was expecting a quick and fun romance set against the backdrop of reality TV, but I wasn't expecting to fall madly in love with it! I became so immersed in Ashton and Ty's romance that I actually cried tears of joy at the end, even though I'm typically annoyed by the cliche engagement type endings. This was just an amazing book. The Perfect Recipe #1, I have read the other two books in this series each a stand alone so you don't have to read them if you don't want to but they are sooo goood! I love reading romance that has cooks/chefs/bakers throw in a cooking competition and I'm all over it. I really enjoyed this one, it has humor, excitement, and betrayal. Terman did a great job of portraying the nerve racking excitement of a competition. The sexual tension and chemistry between Ty and Ashton is super hot a ...more

I have to thank Jessica from Entangled for putting this on my radar and then being generous enough to give me a copy to read/review with no expectations for how I would feel about it. This was a fun read with heart, heat and angst plus a hero that really gets under your skin.

This offering from Robbie Terman is a delightful treat. It begins with the ambitious Ashton, a chef with a restaurant that’s struggling to stay open for business. From the start, you can tell that she’s determined, hardworking and tenacious. She works diligently to ensure that her dream stays alive. This is why she has no choice but to reluctantly appear on a reality television show that features chefs vying for the chance to reach celebrity status. During the taping, you see Ashton fighting too

Ashton enters a reality tv cooking competition (think Top Chef) for both the publicity and cash prize needed to save her struggling Chicago restaurant. Ty is the sexy celebrity chef host of the show who, jaded by the celebrity chef life, wants nothing more than to get back into the kitchen as a chef and spend time with family and friends. Of course, the second Ty and Ashton meet, fireworks go off, the chemistry is explosive, and they find themselves in a secret torid affair that, if discovered,

New to me author Robbie Terman serves up a delicious treat in "Some Like It Spicy".
Ashton Grey is the chef/owner of a struggling Chicago restaurant. A video recording of Ashton getting upset with a customer is leaked to producers of a reality TV chef show which leads to her reluctantly becoming a contestant. The money and fame would certainly help to get her restaurant noticed and busy again.

A TV cooking show that has cattiness, asshat’s but most of all two people that can’t fight the attraction they feel for each other. This could cost him his career and her the restaurant of her dreams but not only hers but also the friends that invested with her.

One of the things I like about books published by Entangled is the fact that I am never disappointed in them. I know that I am going to enjoy the book, and not be throwing away my money. Some Like it Spicy certainly met that standard! I got so frustrated, because I was completely captivated by it, then real life stepped in, and I had to put it down until the next day. It is such a sweet (and spicy!) read that you won't want to put it down.

A pinch of laughter, a dash of tears and a dollop of spunk, create the sensational new book Some Like It Spicy by Robbie Terman. I experienced every emotion known to woman while devouring this fast-paced gem. The story is so good and well written, I could not put it down. If you are a foodie, a reality TV junkie or someone that just loves a great contemporary romance, look no further because this book is the icing on the cake.

I’m not much of a cook, I leave that to my husband, but I have always enjoyed watching Food Network and eating new things. Robbie Terman’s Some Like It Spicy was a book version of those things to me and so much more!
Ashton Grey is a strong, slightly angry, defensive, and determined chef, but she has one problem: her restaurant is failing and she’s about to be forced into closing. This would be an ultimate failure on more levels that just her restaurant being unsuccessful. She ...more

Definitely the perfect recipe for romance!
LOVED this book…so much so, that I read it in one sitting. Seriously…still smiling about sexy celebrity Chef, Ty Cates. He is, as the author puts it, what the love child of Bobby Flay and Rocco DiSpirito would look like. Yum! Looks aren’t everything though. Not to worry, he’s got the whole Southern charm going for him, too! What makes the story so great, IMHO, is when he’s paired up with Chef Ashton Grey. “Scarlett O’Hara, Ashton was not. I was a little hesitant when I started Some Like It Spicy because I'd read quite a few chef themed books lately but I'm glad I read this one because this one was really different.
The first chapter may have been my favorite. It starts out with Ashton doing what she loves most cooking for her nearly empty restaurant. She knows the place is failing. She just doesn't know how to fix it. The scene that became her "audition tape" had me rolling on the floor laughing! The woman who recorded it with he ...more

Ashton Grey is a a chef/owner of a struggling Chicago restaurant but one incident in her own restaurant, lead her to appear on reality TV cooking show. I watched a few reality shows in my spare time and this gives me a dose of that in a book. Ashton is partners in a restaurant in Chicago which isn't doing much business. A video recording of Ashton getting upset with a customer gets leaked to producers of a reality TV chef show. Ashton's fiery attitude gets her booked and she agrees to do it for the money and attention it will bring her failing restaurant. Ty Cates is the host and one of the three judges of the TV show. Ashton Grey’s restaurant Sweet Home doesn't have much time before it goes under unless Ashton can make a name for herself. What better way than as a contestant on a reality cooking show. What she doesn't count on is Celebrity Chef and show judge Ty Cates heating things up in the kitchen and the Wreck room and the bedroom and the woods. Can Ashton keep her head, win the contest, save her restaurant, and maybe fall in love?

Ashton Grey needs money and fast. Her restaurant, Sweet Home, is on the verge of shutting down. To avoid that she is cast into a chef reality show to win money except it's all on the line when she gets involved with head judge, Ty Cates. Some Like It Spicy was a cute read. It made me think of MasterChef reality show but behind the scenes romance going on! It was a great read with with a forbidden romance and also had some deeper issues with our heroine having to deal with her constantly disappro

I loved this book so much I read it in one sitting. I couldn't put it down! I laughed, cried and believed in love at first sight. I wouldn't change a thing about the book. Immediately after reading it I went online to find a recipe for lobster mac and cheese and then drove to the store at 3 in the morning and made it for breakfast. After breakfast I read it again! I have only re-read a couple of books. This book is that great!

Her bio says she wants to make her readers cry a bit and laugh as well, and she definitely achieved it. I really related to Ashton because of her low self-esteem. I'm sure I'm not alone in never quite feeling good enough and hungrily seeking praise for my work. And the food...! I'm hoping to find some of those recipes, especially the capers. Yum! Ty was the perfect hero for Ashton and their love scenes were exactly what the title suggests: spicy!

Despite a lifetime of work in a book heavy field, I don't personally know many published authors. So I was excited to learn that one of my coworkers is a published romance author. I did briefly wonder if it was going to be awkward to read a sex scene written by a coworker! But really this wasn't too steamy and it only makes me like Robbie even more.

Robbie Terman began her journey as a writer in third grade, when she completed her first (24-page) "novel." Many years later, she is published in contemporary romance. Her heroines are feisty, her heroes Hot (yup, that's with a capital H!). And, when you read her books, if you tear up a little and laugh a lot, that's just the reaction she was hoping for.
