Yes, I am the author so I'm a little biased :) But I have a special place in my heart for Brynne. She is such a sympathetic character and has been through so much. No one deserves a happily ever after more than she. I think readers will enjoy cheering her on as she changes from a heartbroken widow back to the strong, spirited bandit they fell in love with in the first Blood Blade Sisters novel. And her new love, Dr. Richard Oliver, is irresistible! :)

What's a widowed woman to do when she leaves behind her banditing ways on a ranch and travels to Boston to be a society lady, her daughter and younger sister in tow?

How will she fight the boredom?

Why, help in a clinic...and do some banditing, of course!

A delightful read. McLean really knows how to present readers with strong heroines and solid story lines and doesn't need to fill the book with tons of sex scenes to make the word count or keep our interest. Her books are about the story and the l

Brynne Richardson's life has taken a different turn. She is now a respectable lady living in the lap of luxury in beautiful Boston. Though she yearns for the excitement of her previous life, she knows it's one she can't return to. She now has a little girl to take care of, one whose life she must protect at all cost.

Still smarting from the death of her husband, Brynne is determined to give life as a respectable woman a good shot for her daughter's sake. Granted, not everything is going to plan.

You can take the girl out of the West, but you can't take the West of the girl. A Bandit's Broken Heart follows Brynne to Boston, where she's now living with her in-laws while her own house is being set up. With her new found fortune, she also continues to help out her neighbors. But instead of stealing (or stealing back), she just leaves food, clothes, and money on their doorsteps. Brynne also isn't taking too well to polite society, feeling bored and useless, so she heads to the clinic on the ...more

When Brynne Richardson arrives in Boston to live with her in-laws, she doesn’t expect society to embrace her, a widow from California, and her daughter, but she doesn’t expect them to be quite so cold either. She knows she’s different from those from Boston, but she’s determined to make it work, for her daughter and her younger sister, Lucy. Brynne isn’t used to sitting around drawing rooms and talking about the latest gossip, so when she learns of the clinic, she decides she can put her knowled ...more

After losing her husband of only a month, Brynne Forrester and her three year old daughter move from California to Boston to be with Brynne’s in-laws. Brynne is content without a man in her life, and self-sufficient thanks to her life as a bandit in California. After moving in to her own home, Brynne decides she needs to fill her idle days and convinces the doctor at the clinic to let her assist him, even though she has no formal med

I loved the first book in the Blood Blade Sisters series and book 2 did not disappoint! I loved watching Brynne as she began to rebuild her life in Boston and was very pleased that there was some bandit action. After everything she went through in book 1, it was good to see Brynne get her happily ever after. She’s such a fish out of water in Boston, but she seems to balance her new life with her old rancher/bandit background very well. It was great to see her move on but stay true to her roots. ...more

* I was given this from Net Galley and the publishers to read and give an honest review*

I hadn't realized that there was a book before this one and this was book 2. However, it didn't seem to matter as I picked up the story quite well.

She had lost her husband, she had a little daughter to care for, and when coming to her husbands part of the world she has not got to become part of "society" which as a previous bandit is quite a turnaround for her. She manages this very well, the author leads us

There wasn’t as much action in this one, but the slow build of the romance between Brynne and Richard was fun to read and thankfully Brynne brings her bandit skills into play further into the story. All in all a great read. Looking forward to the next one.

This book was definitely interesting. The story moved along well, but I just wasn't sold on the characters. I didn't realize that this was the second book in the series though, so I'll go back and read the first and I may like it more after that.

This is a very well written book that hooked me right away. I grew to love the characters and understood their plight right away. They are strong women standing up for their standards. We need more women standing for good causes.

My gosh, another fire happened in this book. Was this series a nod to pyromaniacs?

Michelle McLean grew up in California and has lived everywhere from the deserts of Utah to the tropical beaches of Hawaii to the gorgeous forests of the east coast. The oldest of five children, she is generally an organized mess with crazy eclectic tastes. She has a B.S. in History, a M.A. in English, an insatiable love of books, and more weird quirks than she’d like to admit.
