Robyn Blackwood is a jonesing junkie when she says she'd sell her soul for just one last fix. Then a dark stranger appears with a vial in his palm. All she has to do is take his hand.
When Robyn's last fix ends in her dying of an overdose, she doesn't expect to be brought back to life by an undercover narc who happens to be in the same park she's dumped in.
She's reneged on her deal with the devil, and he's sending out collectors. They could be anyone, and they will stop at nothing to ensure Robyn makes good on her bargain.
Unless she can find others who are willing to trade their souls for something they desperately want, the collectors will kill her. . . again. The devil charges interest. So just one soul won't cut it. Robyn needs to find others to take her place.
Can she trade enough souls to make Lucifer happy before his collectors find her and drag her to hell?
Tracy Sharp grew up in a small mining town in Northern Ontario, Canada, where there wasn't much for her to do except dress warmly and write spooky stories to scare herself silly.

My Thoughts: This book was released in June, but I hadn't realized that. I certainly would have been singing its praises sooner if I'd known it was available! This book is a real humdinger of a story. When I started reading it, I had a difficult time focusing on the editing because I wanted to know what happens next? Things start fast and move faster and then start racing downhill and you better just move out of the way or hang on tightly, because it's a really wild ride.
Tracy Sharp has a real gift for description and characterization. Her characters are strongly built, and she provides just enough description to give you a feel for where you are and how things appear without going overboard. Her plots flow smoothly and her wording choices are elegant. I was very impressed with some of the things with which she came up to replace the few awkwardly worded sections I found in the first draft. When I received the second draft to review, I was awed by the excellence of her writing.
Disclosure: I edited this book. I receive no remuneration based upon sales. All opinions are my own.
Synopsis: What would you trade your soul for?

This book will keep your attention the whole way through. Full of action and horror. This book was writen well although I did not like the ending. I did enjoy the book except for a couple of things. One being, Robyn the main character. I really wish that she would have gotten herself together and stoped causing chaos. Especially at the end, when she brings the hell child inside the home. The second thing that I did not care for was when May was changed. I love this character the whole way through the book but that part really sucked! I was really rooting for this team of characters and it all went down hill at the end. Don't take this the wrong way please, I really enjoyed the book but I would have ended it differently.
The book starts out with a junkie named Robin waiting for her hook up to meet up with her so she can get her fix of drugs. She sees a woman strugling to get a way from a guy and goes over to help her out. The guy ends up killing Robyn instead and she makes a deal with the devil to live. She sold her soul for a drug fix. When she comes back to reality she is a mess and a bum decides to help her because he sees she is hurt. All of a sudden, collecters come for her soul. The bum who is really an undercover cop shoots them but they don't die. Robyn and Toby know something is wrong so they run. They go to a hidden shack in the woods where they can gather their thoughts and then the decide that they need to get more guns becuse whatever those things are will be coming back. They take off to a friends named Zed (he is a hoot), He joins in on the fight and gives them weapons galore. On the way to the car from the hotel room a little girl named may tells the she needs help, her mom left her and she is locked out of her room. they decide to help the little girl. (Who was my favorite character!)Long story short they meet up with a friend named Juno she tells them about some myths her fathers told her when she was a kid and they think that is what is going on and happening to them. Robyn needs to find someone to swap places with her a soul trade! Someone that will sell their soul to the devil in replace of hers. They start looking for bad guys that deserve to die. They find a child molester and a pimp that they catch doing crimes and bring them to Zeds shed where they tell them they will let them go if they say " I sell my soul to the devil in return for not being killed today" Shortly after they let them go collecters come for these scumbags. But Robyn gets caught up in it she likes tormenting them and even ends up killing one of them for fun. They never get squared away and make the trade that is suppose to free them of the contract. May ends up getting killed and tuning into a hells child and Robyn ends up working for the devil.

This is sort of an urban fantasy/horror story (for lack of any better description) - with no romance if that matters to you :D. The ability to take a heroine addict and make her empathetic is no mean feat so mad props to Ms. Sharp. All the characters were interesting--I really want more Juno though. She didn't show up until about the halfway point but she really popped off the page. The one place I really wanted more was in the world-building. At first I thought this was sort of a suspensey/horror story and then it got a little more UF (I say that because it's gritty and I think of UF as being more gritty than paranormal but that's me). I wanted to know more about the kids, the owl and the 25 year thing as well as the Collectors. All that said, it worked well for me and I'll be looking for a sequel.
I can't in good concience recommend this to anyone. I picked it up 99cents and it wasn't worth it. It was okay maybe for the first half and then wow did it go off the rails. I skimmed the last quarter just to see if there would at least be redemption to redeem it. Nope. Folks, don't waste your time with this one.
