My early works, not published, were in the form of children’s stories I would read to my two daughters. I divide my days between the real world and the ones I’ve created. My life and my characters keep me very busy in my Mid-Western scene, where I live with my children and my grand children (both human and furry).

Your invited to tag along on Anna's magic carpet ride and experience her life, as it promises plenty of rock n' roll mixed with the fear of an unnatural forever. Her Rock n' Roll fantasy may never die, but will she?
Just look at her! Who does she think she is? Strutting in with her wavy shoulder length brown hair, framing a heart shaped face and Lavender eyes. Wearing a size 8 Leather outfit as she enters the paranormal arena throwing up Rock Horns, followed by her motley looking crew:
Paige Hendrix- The tall, long blonde haired, blue eyed best friend.
Oliver Zane "Ozzie"- The bad boy supernatural/paranormal hunter who is dating the best friend and perhaps the only human in the group.
Jaxson- The scruffy haired man with chocolate mousse eyes whom she is in love with but cannot have. Although, he begs to differ.
Sebastian-The tall, pale, and handsome dreamboat that dances his way into her arms and steals the only life she knows.

What did I think of Rock n' Roll Promises? Well, for one, why hadn't someone written this sooner. The plot starts off with a leap and skyrockets. Anna, the female lead, is strong, she's dedicated and an amazing friend. She's sweet and generous and a wonderful character. Jaxon, the male lead, is gorgeous. He's strong and loyal and hell bent on protecting Anna. This book does have sexual content, very steamy scenes that will leave you breathless, but it's the plot that grabbed me. The whole thing is a fresh spin on wolves and vampires. I think it's exactly what the vampire world needs right now.
So read it. Share it. Love it! I did. <3

Let's just say this book starts off with a bang (winks.) I fell in love with Jaxson and his need (if you call it that) to have Anna in his life, "Because, Anna, by doing it this way, it will answer more than just one question. When you find me in your past you will understand why I can be part of your future. I have never left you and I never will no matter what you decide." I want a man like that, hot damn! Alright so If you pay close attention to the book that quote truly makes sense but you have to pay VERY close attention and keep to the clues. I liked this book alot and I liked the fact that instead of blood Sebastian need it was actually sex, it's putting a twist on the whole vampire thing.
"What do you crave? Blood? It seems I have a lot of it plastered to my skin and sheets."
"Actually Anna, it's sex. It's tricky. I can't feed off just anyone with sex. I guess you could say, lust is the appetizer and sex is the main course..."
AHHH Oh. My. God. Personally I think this is one of Ambear's best! I can't wait for book two as the cliffhanger killed me (I say that a lot but it's true they really do, and I'm impatient and hate waiting.)

I finished the book in one day, because I couldn't put it down! This isn't just another paranormal story. The author created a new world, a new type of vampire that aren't the usual type you read in other books. Let me tell you about the story.
Annabelle was bitten by a vampire, but she isn't you’re typical vampire. She doesn't need blood to survive, she eats normal food, like any other people. The only craving she has is music and French Vanilla to keep her healthy and warm. She was turned in Australia 1973 by a guy she picked up in a bar, Sebastian.
This is just the introduction, to say so. I felt the need to introduce Anna better, because I loved her character. She isn't you’re winy type of girl. She is one of the strongest characters I have come to read about! I couldn't believe how well AmBear Shellea created her. It’s perfect from the start to the ending of the book! So continue with the story...
Jaxson keeps telling Anna she can’t possibly hurt him, they can be together and he knows her very well, more that she thinks. She doesn't believe it, so Jaxson proves it to her by telling her about her past, from the beginning. She can’t believe it! The sad part is, Jaxson told her he was in her past and she has to find him, or they can’t be together. If she doesn't remember who he is, then they aren't meant to be.
After thinking about what Jaxson said, Paige convinces Anna to try and find him, maybe he was part of her past. But how can that be? He is human, and he is young.
Anyway, Anna goes into a meditation mode. That means, she is kind of sleeping and sees her past, mike she’s there, but at the same time she can’t do anything. Complicated thing. After she goes into her trance, Paige grabs her boyfriend Ozzie to look after Anna while she is in that state, because she can’t defend herself and somebody can attack her. They arrive just in time at her place because a werewolf it’s about to attack her. Paige transforms into a white tiger and start fighting the big bad wolf, she get’s hurt and Ozzie comes to the rescue and shoots the wolf. She was afraid that Ozzie would leave her after that, because first of all he is a hunter, and second, he didn't knew she was a supernatural creature. But that didn't happened, Ozzie proved to be the perfect man for her.
In her meditation, Anna starts remembering the night she met Sebastian, her maker. She goes into a bar and there he is. They dance, drink and have a wonderful time. Later that night, they decided to continue the party at his place. Little did she knew then, that will be her last night as a human. They had a couple of more drinks, laughed, danced and finally they made love. When Anna waked up she heard noises coming from the other room., Sebastian was fighting with a man. When she got out of bed and switched the lights, she saw the covers full of blood, but not even a single scratch on her. Sebastian comes into the room and tries to explain to her what happen and she gets scarred. The other man, Jack, scares her even more. She goes into shock, and Sebastian tries to make her come to her senses, but he get’s knocked off and lands flat on his back, with Anna on top of him. She is strong, beautiful, 21 years old and she is a vampire now. That means she can’t go back to her old life. And Sebastian wont let her leave his side until he finds out what kind of vampire she is. A new life she didn't want.
Four days have passed since Anna went into that trance, and now she is wakening up and she realizes who Jaxson is. They talk it out, she finally understands why he didn't tell her about who he really was. But they have other problems now. The werewolf Oliver and Paige killed was the pack master. That means, the other wolves sensed it and they are coming for Anna.
I won’t tell you more about the story, but the ending was captivating. AmBear Shellea wrote the perfect ending. The book really captivated me! I especially loved the characters, all of them. Annabelle it’s strong, smart and she knows how to fight and keep her head up in any situations. Paige it’s a true friend till the end. I loved they’re bound. Jaxson, Sebastian and Oliver are the perfect guys. You simply can not love them! They are like a family, even with all the problems and the lying, they manage to keep it together and stay friends. So, give this book a try and I promise you won’t regret it!

Rock 'n' Roll Promises is about vampires, weres and so much more. However, don't mistake it as just another paranormal story, AmBear Shellea takes paranormal to a whole new level, a level where vampires don't need blood to survive especially Anna, see she's a vampire all her own, unique from the rest. With her love for rock n roll and coffee Anna is one bad ass vampire that will rock your world. The connection between Jaxson and Anna is intense, she would love to hate him, but now that she knows who he really is hate is not what she feels for him. The biggest complaint I have is that it wasn't long enough just as the story was getting really exciting, it ended and with one hell of a cliff hanger to boot. I can't wait to read the next chapter with these characters, not a dull moment at all.

Who would have thought to put a twist on a vampire book without all the blood and guts? AmBear did a fantastic job, and that's one of the many reasons why I fell in love with this book. it's really unique and nothing like this has been written before. Instead of craving blood, Anna's craving is... music. Let's not forget about the man who has been by her side for centuries, without her even knowing it. Jaxon and Anna has a huge history, and the connection between them is so intense. He wants to be with her, but... I guess I will have to wait for the second book to actually see what happens with the chemistry between them. This was such a page turner book, and it leaves off with one hell of a cliffhanger! I can't wait to read Heavy Metal Heartbeat!!

FINISHED!
I made it to the end and I didn't think that would happen. AmBear Shellea wrote in the third person, which I don't have a problem with, but she just went on with it for so long that a lot of the time I didn't know who's POV I was reading. Maybe she was trying to build suspense, but I was just confused. The characters, I did care anything about. Jack was the most interesting but he was in the story much. Basically, I finished this book only because it was so short. I refused not to finish a book that's just over two hundred pages. This is a first book in a series, but I won't be reading the others.

This is a very different type of vampire story!
Anna is a vampire who doesn't feed off of human blood, but rather something that she loved in her human life. After spending the night with a friend she goes home to go into a trance to find out who this person was to her in her past. While she is out all hell breaks loose and brings a war to her front door.
The ending of this book is VERY attention grabbing. The book as a whole was great. I especially loved reading about Anna's past. This is another one of those series that I would gladly follow if there were more.

I loved this book. I was drawn into it and felt like I was there. I love Anna. She's fiery and amazing. The music that was mentioned are some of my favs. Jaxson is totally hot. I loved how AmBear created a group of friends with different supernatural powers and they understood this about each other. I also loved the hot, steamy sex scenes. The cliffhanger left me wanting more. If you love sex, rock n roll, vampires and werewolves then this is the perfect book.

Love this book! Have read it three times now. Don't know if I'm just a fast reader, if the book is that fast paced, or both... BUT am so frustrated when I'm finished! Cause I want more! Lol Plus the cliff hanging at the end just makes you want to keep flipping the page.. (Even tho there's no more pages to flip).. Do me a favor AmBear and finish the next book! Lol ;-)

This is a definite different take on paranormal! Different in a good way in my opinion. And it is most definitely HOT HOT HOT! The characters are strong and well written, sometimes it did go a bit slow for my taste but quickly picked back up. I will definitely be reading the second book.

It's a very fast paced and sexy book. Anna is the most original character I've seen in quite a while :) I can't wait for the next installment of RRP!

I had a real hard time following what was going on with the way it jumped back & forth, so you weren't sure which character was telling the story. This was my first read by this author & I wasn't impressed. I've read a lot of vampire, werewolves, all paranormal & this just didn't do it for me. I will give it that it did have some quite funny come backs.

Four days have passed since Anna went into that trance, and now she is wakening up and she realizes who Jaxson is. They talk it out, she finally understands why he didn't tell her about who he really was. But they have other problems now. The werewolf Oliver and Paige killed was the pack master. That means, the other wolves sensed it and they are coming for Anna.
I won’t tell you more about the story, but the ending was captivating. AmBear Shellea wrote the perfect ending. The book really captivated me! I especially loved the characters, all of them. Annabelle it’s strong, smart and she knows how to fight and keep her head up in any situations. Paige it’s a true friend till the end. I loved they’re bound. Jaxson, Sebastian and Oliver are the perfect guys. You simply can not love them! They are like a family, even with all the problems and the lying, they manage to keep it together and stay friends. So, give this book a try and I promise you won’t regret it!
Annabelle was bitten by a vampire, but she isn't you’re typical vampire. She doesn't need blood to survive, she eats normal food, like any other people. The only craving she has is music and French Vanilla to keep her healthy and warm. She was turned in Australia 1973 by a guy she picked up in a bar, Sebastian.
This is just the introduction, to say so. I felt the need to introduce Anna better, because I loved her character. She isn't you’re winy type of girl. She is one of the strongest characters I have come to read about! I couldn't believe how well AmBear Shellea created her. It’s perfect from the start to the ending of the book! So, to continue with the story...
Jaxson keeps telling Anna she can’t possibly hurt him, they can be together and he knows her very well, more that she thinks. She doesn't believe it, so Jaxson proves it to her by telling her about her past, from the beginning. She can’t believe it! The sad part is, Jaxson told her he was in her past and she has to find him, or they can’t be together. If she doesn't remember who he is, then they aren't meant to be.
After thinking about what Jaxson said, Paige convinces Anna to try and find him, maybe he was part of her past. But how can that be? He is human, and he is young.
Anyway, Anna goes into a meditation mode. That means, she is kind of sleeping and sees her past, mike she’s there, but at the same time she can’t do anything. Complicated thing. After she goes into her trance, Paige grabs her boyfriend Ozzie to look after Anna while she is in that state, because she can’t defend herself and somebody can attack her. They arrive just in time at her place because a werewolf it’s about to attack her. Paige transforms into a white tiger and start fighting the big bad wolf, she get’s hurt and Ozzie comes to the rescue and shoots the wolf. She was afraid that Ozzie would leave her after that, because first of all he is a hunter, and second, he didn't knew she was a supernatural creature. But that didn't happened, Ozzie proved to be the perfect man for her.

Paranormal books are hits or misses with me. But this one called out to me. I was intrigued with the synopsis. It pulled me in instantly with the fact that there is a bigger story besides what lies with Anna. It is like a game of cat and mouse, or in this case a game of vampire and werewolves!
Anna is gorgeous and has a wild sexy side to her. She loves to tempt and seek out hot guys. It also seems as if she has a natural seduction about her. She is fueled by Rock and Roll, which is pretty awesome. Most fave part of the book was when we learned it was her vice. It just made her that more real. Only....well she isn't real....she is something of the dark world. Yes, a woman of the fangs....
All of the added characters were great. I loved Paige, just absolutely loved her. She is Anna's BFF, and sort of like her perma-watchdog! She is awesome, all around. Then you have Jaxson.....umm holy hotness! He is all sorts of lickable and mysterious. The mysterious side of him really drew me in. Another character that I really liked was Sebastian. He is a bit of a wicked/cool guy. He is also devilishly gorgeous. But he has a very tender and interesting side to him. He blew me away.
After finishing this book, I was a bit put off. Sure there is angst, hot guys (that are vampires, wolves, etc.), and rock and roll, but it didn't do it for me. In fact I felt like this book was too predictable. I saw things coming a mile away before they even happened. I figured things out just about immediately. Now, I usually can love a book, even if I figure the story line out. Only this time, I didn't love it. I was more ehhhh, with it. Neither like or dislike. Even with the fact this book is roughly 110+ pages, it just couldn't keep my attention...gosh I tried and tried and tried some more. One thing I wish there was more of, is action. Don't get me wrong there is action, but I needed more. Maybe my attention would have been held better. There was just so much buildup, then the book ended on a cliffhanger.....I was in shock! Be prepared for that. Well if you are in the mood for some paranormal sauciness and different, I suggest you pick this book up. It is different than all of the other paranormal books that I have read. That was a plus for me!

Can you imagine if you are suddenly thrown into the world of the supernatural overnight…
Well this is what happened to Anna who was just an all-around American girl!! Now she has hooks up with the hot rock n roll band leader Jaxson who is a complete mystery to her. However, she hides the fact that she is a vampire from him. Meanwhile, Paige her BBF since childhood, has a few secrets of her own that Anna is completely unaware of. Then we have the most lovesable character of all who will melt your heart!, Ozzie, who happens to be a Hunter of the supernatural which makes thing really interesting!! Now I will have to tell to tell you this story is just not only of the supernatural element but has some pretty delightful steamy romance!!
This story is based around the lives of four individuals whose lives are altered by a world full of shifters, vampires, witches and others who are fighting a war that most humans are very unaware of. Now events of the past are catching up with the present and Anna must search her memories in order to save precious lives in the present….
I was completely intrigue by how the Author drew you in to the story with vivid emotional detail that brought the characters alive in your heart!
This is not your ordinary story of the supernatural world by no mean!! You will be in for some big surprises!!
I am so wrapped up in this epic story that I had to dive into the next book in this Saga, Heavy Metal!!

Anna Is in love but can't let the guy know. Why because she is a vampire and it is forbidden for her to be in love with a human. What she finds out after an amazing night with him is she has to go in a trance and go back to her past. She needs to find out who he is. Her best friend watches over her as she makes the journey back to the night she was turned and what followed after. What she doesn't know is she is in danger while in her trance.
This was a steamy read, that has lots of action going on. You get to see inside Anna's head from the start and see how she really feels. She isn't your normal vampire and I like that. I had never seen her type before in a book. I loved it. You get a variety of songs to hear in your head as your reading as well. When she goes in her trance you travel back in time and learn how it all got started for her. I love how she wasn't ready to give up on her old life and watching her try to figure out how to live in her new life. She has the help of Paige along the way and Paige is awesome as well. I loved all the different characters and types of paranormal being in this book as they all add their own touch to the story. There is some funny scenes as well and I got a few chuckles. Sexy scenes if you like them as well. This is a quick read and that is my only complaint. Just when I was figuring everything out it was over. I look forward to the next one!

This story is a new take on paranormal creatures. Where vampires, who we all know as night creatures who feast on blood, actually are able to feast on not blood but different things, like lust and in Anna’s case, music. Weird, yes, different, yes, but this story has unique qualities that keep you engaged. The majority of this story is finding out about Anna, and how she knows Jaxson from her past. Without the action/adventure that I normally associate with vampire tales, this one gives you some action at the end, and gives you how the life of a vampire is made. It was slow for me at times, but I did enjoy seeing Anna’s spunk and crass during her transition. Jaxson, you like right off the bat, but has this secret he won’t tell Anna, so to find out how she knows him, she puts herself in a deep sleep in order to relive her transition hoping to find Jaxson in her past. During her sleep, a local werewolf catches wind of Anna’s vulnerable state and tries to take her out. Her hunter friend Ozzie and best friend Paige protect her while she sleeps, taking out the wolf but not knowing doing that brings down the entire pack to their door step. To know the rest you’re going to just have to read it but be forewarned, there is a major cliff hanger at the end…grrr. I hate those. Enjoy.

Let's just say this book starts off with a bang (winks.) I fell in love with Jaxson and his need (if you call it that) to have Anna in his life, "Because, Anna, by doing it this way, it will answer more than just one question. When you find me in your past you will understand why I can be part of your future. I have never left you and I never will no matter what you decide." I want a man like that, hot damn! Alright so If you pay close attention to the book that quote truly makes sense but you have to pay VERY close attention and keep to the clues. I liked this book alot and I liked the fact that instead of blood Sebastian need it was actually sex, it's putting a twist on the whole vampire thing.
"What do you crave? Blood? It seems I have a lot of it plastered to my skin and sheets."
"Actually Anna, it's sex. It's tricky. I can't feed off just anyone with sex. I guess you could say, lust is the appetizer and sex is the main course..."
AHHH Oh. My. God. Personally I think this is one of Ambear's best! I can't wait for book two as the cliffhanger killed me (I say that a lot but it's true they really do, and I'm impatient and hate waiting.)

Anna has made a deal with Jaxson that he will promise to keep her secret as a vampire as long as she shares a night of passion with him. But there is something about him that she can’t remember and he is a part of his past. She’ll have to seek her memories to find out what he really is to her and if there can be more to just the one night. While in a self-induced sleep, Anna’s best friend Paige and her boyfriend Ozzie, keep a watchful eye on her and manage to save her from an attack of a local Were that is out to kill her. Anna has to make a decision, one she isn’t too proud of but if it’s a matter of saving her best friend’s love, then she’s willing to do it. But giving a new life to Ozzie, leaves her feeling as she did when the decision wasn’t allowed to be made by herself, but someone else. Was this a bad choice and did she do this only considering Paige and not what was best for Ozzie?

This book is the first in the Rock n Roll Paraphantasy Series. The book is a light and quick read for readers who enjoy vampires and the supernatural. Nothing is what it seems and even her own understanding of reality is challenged when Jaxson makes a seemingly simple request of Anna. Her rendezvous with him sends her on a journey through her past to find out what their future may hold. Doing so, however, might cost Anna's best friend Paige everything she holds dear.
The author does a good job of helping the reader invest in the characters. Thanks to well-crafted cliffhanger ending, I was left dying to know what happens next.
The dialogue while well-done and artfully crafted, is lengthy at times and often untagged, making it hard to know who's speaking. I had to flip back to the beginning of an exchange a few times to get my bearings.
I also found the love scenes a little uninspired, almost as if the author as uncomfortable writing them. Still, Rock N Roll Promises is a very good book, all in all, and I'm looking forward to the second installment in the series.

I really liked this story from the beginning. It's a new spin on vampire lore, and there are other supernatural beings, as well. We find out about Anna's past throughout the book, as she goes into a trance to "relive" part of her life from the night she was turned, to determine how Jaxson knows her (after having a pretty steamy interaction with him). Her best friend Paige and Paige's boyfriend Ozzie, a hunter, come to protect her while in her trance, and the twists just keep coming throughout the story.
I also greatly enjoyed the use of music throughout the book. I knew pretty much all of the songs mentioned, and they were each relevant and used perfectly to describe certain situations, especially the ending. And speaking of the ending, it's definitely a cliffhanger, so I can't wait to see what happens next! An entertaining read, and one I would recommend to those who like the supernatural and supernatural romances.

AmBear Shellea’s “Rock n Roll Promises”—book 1 in the “Rock n Roll Paraphantasy” series—is an intense and sensual paranormal treat. Shellea creates an almost reality world where vampires are different from the old legends, weres are their mortal enemies, and anything goes if you’re willing (& able) to bend the rules. Shellea’s characters are clever, unique, and interesting. Her heroine, Anna, is a new type of vampire who is almost human. She is witty, brazen, and enticing. Her hero, Jaxson, is his own special supernatural entity. He is noble, rugged, and virile. She also adds in a cast of loveable supporting characters. Her storyline includes numerous plot twists as well as music to help tell the story. Although “Rock n Roll Promises” is a highly sensual read, the eroticism doesn’t take away from the emotional depth Shellea creates. “Rock n Roll Promises” is a unique take on the vampire romance genre and a promising start to an excellent new series.

Bang, and the race is on this story leaped right off the pages from the moment I first started reading and didn't slow down even to say goodbye at the end. I was so sure that this was a story that I was not interested in reading that I didn't want to give it a chance. Boy what a mistake I would have made. Rock N Roll Promises is so full of everything packed into one big punch that leaves you toppled over wanting more. The characters are so well written that I could see them clearly in my mind. Anna is not some silly school girl with a crush. She is a force that will knock you off your feet and leave you wondering what just happened. Paige (the best friend) well she has a few secrets of her own that may just leave your head spinning. I will leave you to wonder what this story is truly about as it's not for me to tell but, it is for you to read for yourself. This book turns out is definitely my cup of tea as I anxiously await the next in the series.

Rock 'n' Roll Promises is about vampires, weres and so much more. However, don't mistake it as just another paranormal story, AmBear Shellea takes paranormal to a whole new level, a level where vampires don't need blood to survive especially Anna, see she's a vampire all her own, unique from the rest. With her love for rock n roll and coffee Anna is one bad ass vampire that will rock your world. The connection between Jaxson and Anna is intense, she would love to hate him, but now that she knows who he really is hate is not what she feels for him. The biggest complaint I have is that it wasn't long enough just as the story was getting really exciting, it ended and with one hell of a cliff hanger to boot. I can't wait to read the next chapter with these characters, not a dull moment at all.
