Promises Collection #2

A Promise Worth Remembering

Rate this book
After ten years, tiger preserve owner Bailey Yant never thought heartbreaker Tucker Pierce would return to Safe Haven. With a hundred-year-old feud between the Pierce and Yant families escalating, and despite a mystical lovers’ rock stirring memories of their forbidden love, she’s walled up her heart tighter than her sanctuary. When her prized tiger trespasses onto the Pierce’s hunting range, and poachers threaten not only her tiger’s safety but the livelihood of her preserve, will Bailey open her heart and trust Tucker in time to save her endangered Bengals?

At seventeen, Tucker Pierce fell in love with Bailey’s strength the day he’d pulled her from the river and promised to make her dreams come true. However, to keep Bailey safe from his abusive father, he risked everything—and in the process lost her to another man. For ten years, he’s kept his reason for leaving Safe Haven secret, but he can’t forget the promise he made to her or who his heart belongs to. After finding the widowed Bailey standing on their special rock, will he finally convince her to trust he’s a man of his word?

Great story

I loved this book. It was a great, clean romance. I loved the storyline and the cat part of the story. I look forward to reading more by this author.

Certainly A Great Story You Don't Want To Miss, October 26, 2014

I loved this romance story, something any age could safely read. Bailey and Tucker's family have had a feud for generations then one day Bailey has her life saved my Tucker, with the promise of love ,then he is gone. Ten years later, feud still going but now it's Bailey and Tucker's father. She runs the wild animal reserve, he pays the hunters to kill any cats that get on his land, even when temped to come though the fences. Then Tucker returns, can Bailey open her heart again? Will she learn to let someone help her when she learns the truth about what happen 10 years ago and ever since? This is a wonderful story, I read over coffee and breakfast (I didn't want to stop to eat) so to say a long breakfast , would not be wrong.

This was such a sweet story, just like a modern day Romeo and Juliet, but the ending is one you will have to read the story for to see if it has a happier ending. I loved Bailey and Tucker and the way the story evolves. I felt for Bailey. She was a beautiful young woman who had to work very hard for everything in her life. She seemed to not trust many people in her life and then the one she lets through seems to throw her away. Tucker also has a very hard life and they seem like a perfect pair but life doesn't always work that way. It takes years for Bailey and Tucker to have an opportunity to fight through their past and figure out if they have a place together in the present. My only wish is that it would have been longer because I would have loved to have read where life took them.

The concept of this book is great but so much more could have been done with it.

I love the thought of second chances, but this one took all of 1 day to declare love and get their HEA. To make this book complete, we really needed to see more detail about the past, maybe the actually scenes of what happened..not just telling us after the fact what happened. It needed both characters pov.

I found myself skimming. It really didn't seem believable to me. It all happened so fast. It all seemed rushed.

Would I recommend this book? Yes, if you want a quick read.

Would I read more from this author? Yes

This is a very short story that I got whilst it was free. As a short story you are taken right into the middle and then try to play catch up to figure out what is happening. But unfortunately the story comes out as a bit convoluted and rushed. There is a feud, there is love, there is betrayal, there is a whole lifetime of hurt, a hint of magic, a relationship worth re-building maybe and a tiger called Copper. If this was made into a full-sized novel then I think it would work better.

Good premise but left feeling in a whirlwind.

Some aspects gave me problems (word usage, errors in punctuation, the overly-used family feud background). The idea of the tiger preserve was very unique. As far as the romance, I liked the hero & heroine but found their names more suited to a Western historical. The author gave a well thought out reason for the hero walking out years before, and the trust issues the heroine had upon his return. Would have been more impressed had this been a full-length novel.

This was a great story! Loved the ability to read about the past and then again into the future. Tucker and Bailey were believable characters. and the storyline moved right along. Great short read!

When you meet up with your long lost love and then in the space of maybe 30 minutes, he proposes, alarm bells ring.
Not enough, if any substance for me in this one.
Sorry, Cyndi.
