This sentimental picture book is good for kids in Pre School and Kindergarten. It is about a young boy whose father is leaving to go on a trip. The two talk about the things they do when they are apart because of how much they miss each other. The boy asks his father how long it will be until he is home and he replies "it will be when the moon is full." The boy didn't understand when that would be, so his father gave him a description of how the moon changes its shape. The story ends with the father leaving for his trip saying "I'll see you when the moon is full." This book has a theme of the love between a boy and his father. I especially like it because it throws in the description of the moon and its phases - which is educational in itself!

3.75 This book is good on two levels. One the dealing with a dad that works out of town frequently, and dealing with goodbye. This is so sweet about the love the father and son have for each other.

The second part that is great is the study of the moon. Abe (the little boy) is told that his dad would be home when the moon is full. In the story at the time the dad is leaving the moon is at a crescent. The father teaches the sun about the phases of the moon and Abe says he will draw the moon phases every night even if there are clouds, while his dad is away.

Very nicely done! Worth Reading!
