I read this book looking for more marketing choices for on of my clients. I have used Youtube for researching new products before puchasing them and so does a huge portion of the population. I had no idea how to use it for promotional purposes. I was excited to find this source and was not disappointed when I finished reading it.

As the first YouTube marketing book I've ever read, I do not have anything to compare it to. I have read marketing books, but nothing specifically on online marketing. So with that out of the way, I did like this book even though it is a bit dated, YouTube has changed quite a bit since this book was published just to give some context.

It was pretty good and informative, and definitely made the case for why YouTube is not to be ignored in social media marketing, but as for applying it to my needs, it mostly just served to show me once again just how much of social media is over my head. For anyone who understands YouTube, it would be excellent. Reading it slowly over a course of three weeks with a cold for two of them without taking any notes probably didn't help my understanding any. I'm not very good at most internet things. ...more

The author bases this book on his experience with YouTube as a small entrepreneur selling handmade doll fashion from home with his partner and as a professional working at a university. This book is a decent reference manual for tackling the YouTube game. Much of the book is spent cheerleading the platform and discussing how people fail, but also offers a fair amount of content about how to succeed.
