Arthur Laurents was an American playwright, librettist, stage director, and screenwriter. His credits included the stage musicals West Side Story and Gypsy and the film The Way We Were.
I only rated this three stars, not because it's bad or average, I actually think it's quite good. However, moreso than a lot of the plays I've looked into, it needs to be seen, not read. It is very theatrical as opposed to literary. The message is an important, very relatable one and the poetic, almost musical flow of the action would be beautiful to watch, it's just a bit boring to read.
