The thrilling new collection from the Pushcart Prize-winning poet

"I will say beauty," Carol Frost boldly says in one of her new lyrical poems, beauty being for her and all of us elusive-in and out of nature. Carol Frost has this uncanny ability to make the incidental events of nature both beautiful and momentous to people's lives. I say uncanny because her connections never feel forced. It is more that the speaker just happened to arrive at a scene at the right moment, when everything came together. Foxes at evening listening to the human traffic below them. The ibises rising en masse just as someone points them out for the speaker.

Carol Frost's poetry has a seductive rhythm along with beautiful imagery. I found myself often lost (in a good way) within each poem as they lulled me into a sense of being in each moment she chose to write about. One drawback for me was the lack of consistent jumps that would have mixed each poem up a bit, making them a bit more surprising at times. Otherwise, recommended.
