Do you know how we got to here?

Well, if you're like 97.4% of the people walking the planet, you haven't got a clue. Sure, you might know a bit about a couple rivers in Mesopotamia, how Socrates wandered around Athens asking questions or how Martin Luther got ticked off one day and nailed a really long essay to the door of a church. But to be honest (and don't be embarrasse

This year I was assigned to teach a 12th grade level World History course. I was so nervous and a bit overwhelmed because there is so much history to cover-4.5 billion years. I stumbled upon this book and am so glad I did. It is designed for high school students, but it reads like a wonderful story. Burnett makes history come alive through his humorous take on history. I would definitely recommend this book for any student of history, or anyone just needing a refresher in our world. Unlike other ...more

Our World’s Story by Eric Burnett delivers a great overview of world history in a humorous way. As a fifteen-year-old taking AP World History, Our World’s Story has helped in reviewing and learning material easily. As a student that have read textbooks to study, Our World’s Story is a breath of fresh air. Eric Burnett does a great job showing perspective, presenting information in a simple, humorous way, and great for students and teachers.

Compared to a textbook or a podcast, Our World’s Story

I’m a freshman and I’m new to a lot of things in my high school. This year has gone fast not only with extra curricular activities I do in school and outside of school but also with the topics I have learned over the period of time in AP World especially. I chose to take AP World because I am a kind of person who likes to try new things and see where the difficulty of things will take me and how it will be beneficial. I took AP World and after I found out what we are going to be learning and ho

This year, as a freshman taking AP World, I read OUR WORLD's STORY almost daily. We are assigned, by my teacher, to read the book, and after reading a chapter or two, to answer some questions about what we learned from the chapters. Usually when I hear a teacher assign textbook reading, I roll my eyes, and scrunch up my nose in disgust, but when my teacher assigns us to read OUR WORLD's STORY, I am excited. The Author of this modern text, Eric Burnett wrote a new, fresh book that students will ...more

Resourceful, informative, yet interesting is what comes to mind when thinking about Ourworldzstory by Eric Burnett. This text is almost like the history textbook that everyone wished they had. Normal textbooks tell you how this person traded with this person and blah, blah, blah, but not with Ourworldzstory! The author really makes you feel like you are right there in the place and time that they are talking about, not to mention, this book really keeps my attention too.
I feel that this book

Ourworldzstory by Eric Burnett takes puts a twist on everything you know about world history. His compelling use of comparing historical situations to current events helps the reader not only understand world history better but also demonstrates just how many times history repeats itself. I am a 15-year-old girl, in AP World, and this book has helped tremendously in making me stay focused and understand the content being given in class.

Our World’s Story by Eric Burnett is an informative piece of writing. While it’s not the most interesting read, it proves to be an enlightening book. It is definitely a quality substitution for a textbook. Burnett enables the reader to clearly comprehend the events of the world’s history in an easy way. The book goes into depth on critical moments that shaped our world’s history.
