What do you think?

The Simple Mechanic of Infinite Execution
Beneath every veneer, beneath the person who is you, there are secrets, never acknowledged, never told nor shared. It is your sexuality, and mine, a compendium of dark influences, of seeds sown, of lost fleeting moments that run us wild, ragged. Ever constant, we deny our nature of want, desire, guilt, shame. Ever constant, we succumb to the subterranean pull of pleasure and pain. It is here where the story begins. Welcome.

About the author
Linda A. Lavid
39 books25 followersLinda A. Lavid is a late-blooming writer who got off on the wrong track early--she barely passed English and typing in high school. After subsequent years of wanting to write but not having a clue, she dove in, purchased a computer, and finished her first novel. It took two years and was awful. After more years of false starts and hair-pulling, she segued into writing short stories, learned a ton, and went on to write a lot more stuff. After thirty-five years, she now feels she has the bull by the horns. Her only task is to keep breathing. She's kind of old at this point.

I found this little experiment rather interesting. I liked it. I did a little research on what metafiction is, having never heard of it before. I'm not sure I understand the purpose but it is interesting, and this is a good example. Again, I liked it and would have continued to read it had it been longer. I have to admit it was a little bit strange 'looking' into a story with someone else (the author) and while I didn't have a voice I did feel included and 'present'. Very interesting thought process.
I recommend this to anyone who likes this genre. It's a nice example even if a little short for my liking.
I received this book from the author after being selected in the Goodreads First Reads Giveaway as a winner. Yay me! Thanks.

A fictional book. First I won this on goodreads. This books was not what I expected when I opened it up or what I normally read. Author leads us to believe that everyone has hidden secrets that we keep to ourselves. Our desires. Our wants. Our guilt and shame. We the reader question what we like. This book is a voyeuristic romp, a runaway train. Starts in a company lunchroom. Evolves from standing close to sexually flying away together. A good read for open minded people.

September 19, 2013I won this as part of First Reads, and will get to a real review when I finish reading. It's been a while since I've read something as experimental and meta-fictiony as this, but I'm game.
