Reiterates much of what is brought to light by "Dreamland" and "Chasing the Scream". More thoughts to come after I finish my current read. The path to solving this crisis lies in compassion and understanding, decriminalization and access to treatment. Simply removing opiates from the dr's toolbox accomplishes nothing for the addict and causes untold suffering for the true chronic pain patient. There is a balance. We must work to find it.

Recommends it for: anyone
My perspective is different from being inside the world of medicine. I found this article very interesting and also relevant to what I have experienced in my career.
