Very sweet story of a family of groundhogs that had tried to get their baby groundhog to sleep. So they could get ready for groundhog day. All their various animal friends came by to try to get the baby to sleep but each animal would fall asleep before she would fall asleep first. At the back of the book is true to life facts about real life groundhog

This book teaches students a little bit about the groundhog. At the end it has a facts page. The stroy is unrealistic but imaginative. It might be a fun project for students; have them come up with different ways to help the groundhog fall asleep.
