There are times when I want to read something different from my usual favorites (dystopian novels, thrillers, and science fiction) which allows me to relax and just read a light yet entertaining story. Dognapped is one such entertaining book.

The story revolves around 12-year old Kitty Walker who feels so lost after moving to a new village with her family. Her mother seems to always be so busy with her books -- she writes books on grooming dogs. And her little brother seems to be the family favo

STORYLINE: Kitty Walker moves to a new town and immediately gets involved in dog showing. She comes in contact with a missing dog and follows a puzzling set of clues that lead to a trail of crime and revenge.

I LIKED: the feisty heroine of this book. Kitty feels like the genuine article, in that she has all the insecurities of a twelve year old. She’s new in town, resentful of being uprooted from her old digs and is the odd man out at school. Added to that, she has a pesky little brother who’s

Ok, I like dogs - alot. And this followed immediately after a dog inspired, narrated read, but still my inner 11 something year old muse really enjoyed this spirited little tale about a missing little dog and the girl who learned to suppress show-dog-day nerves in order to solve her first mystery. It's not easy overcoming nerves, self-doubt, first time encounters with the opposite sex (we're just friends right?), murderers and disinterested adults, but Charmaine Clancy manages to help Kitty Walk ...more

Twelve-year-old Kitty is a dog lover and would-be detective. When things go wrong at a dog show, the situation tests her sleuthing abilities. Dogs are getting sick, being switched, and having their microchips taken out. There’s also a murder. Kitty’s a great character and I even liked Jessica, aka Miss Perfect. This is a cute, MG mystery book with excellent pacing and mounting suspense.

Brilliant, fast-paced writing. It’s an exciting mystery detective story in the world of the dog-showing arena. Kitty has a sharp eye for anything suspicious or Agatha Christie crime related. What better way to solve a tricky murder mystery, than with new friends with a common interest. It’s a great book to read to a whole class because of the suspense-filled, unexpected chapter turns. The scenes are so well set-up and moved so quickly that I couldn’t put the book down.

Let me come right and say it: I loved this book. Based on the premise alone I had high expectations for the level of adorableness that would be contained within its pages and I am happy to say that it did not disappoint.

What is the premise, you ask? 12 year-old Kitty Walker is a typical girl trying to find her way in a new town. Upon first arriving, her only friend is her miniature schnauzer, Spade (and maybe her little brother Matty, when he’s not too busy bugging her). At her mother’s urging s

A fabulous tale of a would-be child detective hot on the heels of solving the mystery of a 'swapped' dog. Lots of info on the world of dog showing. ...more

Interesting read. Great plot flow.

I grew up reading Trixie Belden, Nancy Drew, and The Hardy Boys. Welcome to the next generation of teen detectives. I did enjoy reading this.

Charmaine Clancy lives in Brisbane, Australia and loves to create characters for mystery, fantasy and adventure. All her stories are fictional, except maybe MY ZOMBIE DOG (some say to this day you can hear the dog softly moaning, 'braaains').

Charmaine was born the year man walked on the moon, and if more aware of the event, she probably would have thought it was a great setting for a murder. She g
