The adventure continues in this second book of the epic multiplatform fantasy series.

In the world of Erdas, only a rare few are able to summon a spirit animal in the way Conor, Abeke, Meilin, and Rollan have. The bond they share with their animals is a partnership that allows them to access more-than-human abilities.

But what if there was another way to create a spirit anim

Because... Stiefvater. Also, this Rollan kid is like small Ronan.. XD
The two-star rating is for *my* level of enjoyment, but I am, admittedly and obviously, not the target audience, and I think that kids probably really enjoy this series. For me, I don't want to wait longer for the series to develop each of the characters into more than broad-stroked caricatures of fantasy adventure protagonists. Instead of allowing the authors to create interesting, new protagonists, since there are four, this series basically takes each category of main character and puts all t ...more

This version was as amazing as the last book with all the new action, drama, and story and lore. It adds more to the relationship of the children, their animals, and the relationship between each child and their animals. However, this time I can't give all my thanks to Brandon Mull as this book was written by someone else. This time the second "Spirit Animals" book was written by an author that goes by the name, Maggie Stiefvater. She, like Mull, has a crafty way of writing where you need to rem ...more

I tried to read the first one in this series and it was so bad it was unfinishable - the characters were all with manufactured sob stories and sorted into Sparklypoo.

This is much better than that. I read it because I really like this author (they're doing a thing where each book in the series has a different author).

But honestly? Even though this is well written, and gives the characters nuance and depth and is easy to read, it's just so nonsensical. Fucking stupid decisions made. People are i

Wow, a lot of books with the title Hunted. I was expecting that this second book in the Spirit Animals series would be different because it is by a different author than the first one, but the writing really felt quite consistent to me. I also thought, because of the picture on the book cover, that each of the volumes in the series would focus on a particular character and animal. This volume pictures Conor and his wolf Briggan on the front. But so far the stories switch point of view between al ...more

I read this without reading the first book. Yes, I read it because Maggie Stiefvater wrote it. I actually am a fan of Brandon Mull, too, but somehow missed the connection with book one. Wish I'd read that one first.

My big mistake was thinking these were all books in the same story world, but with different authors and different characters. No--they are a true series. Same characters throughout, as far as I can see. So, this limits the author's style, which of course, for me, was a disappointmen
I liked the action in this book and how the kids are becoming comfortable with the spirit animals, especially Meilin. She seems so impatient and I think that Jhi will indeed help her to find her balance. Of course at the end of the book, she is making a reactive choice out of frustration for what Connor has done, but she is at least nicer to her animal than she was in the beginning.

I find it odd that Connor’s family would write him and burden him with their troubles. They understand how importa

Book 2 of the Spirit Animals series. Perhaps not quite as exciting as Book 1 (Wild Born)but then, we now know the basic story line. At age 11, all children are supposed to be given Nectar, a magical solution that might cause the children to bond with spirit animals, joined emotionally for life. Four kids from very assorted backgrounds drink the nectar and four very powerful spirit animals appear. These may be the same spirit animals which saved their country many years ago or they may be modern ...more

I love this book! It is the 2nd best close behind Fire and Ice.

Summary Time!

The four are searching for a new talisman. The Iron Boar of Rumfuss, to be exact.
As they trek through the north, they have the help of Finn, a retire Greencloak warrior who has lost his Spirit Animal.
In the woods, conquerors attack. They all fight bravely, until an Adder is thrown at their mentor, Tarik, and he is bitten. He falls to the ground in pain, as the fight is finished.
With the horses gone, Conor, Rollan and T

Spirit Animals: Hunted by Maggie Stiefvater is a book about kids about 11 years old who are able to summon spirits of animals who share the same personalities as themselves. As a kid who love fiction and action filled books I would recommend this book to people who like the Harry Potter series. Although people might say it's Science fiction it has some medieval features. Even though others who guess to much about things might say it has magic and monsters because I said it was medieval, it's not ...more

I found that the second book was much more interesting than the first.
The beginning of the book was very descriptive, and hooked my attention.
I liked how the author used words in this book that made sense, and most of all, made the reader want to read on.
The book was very well written in the case that it made my mood change.
This book made me wonder what was going to happen next, which made me feel excited, and curious.
I would recommend this book to anyone who would enjoy fantasy, but with a bit

The book I read was Wanted by Maggie Stiefvater. The setting is in the country of Eldas. The conflict is that the Conquerors are trying to take over Erdas. The Conquerors are people who follow The Devourer who has a salt water crocodile. The main characters are Abeke, Connor, Rollan, Meilin, Essix, Jhi, Briggan, Uraza. These are the heros that will stop the Devouror again and save Erdas.
I like this book because there is a lot of action. This book has a slow start but it gets better. It has a ma

Jednoznačne to bolo o dosť lepšie ako jednotka. Neviem, čím to bolo, ale bolo. Čítalo sa to lepšie, nebola tam nuda a celú knihu sa niečo dialo. A bolo to zaujímavé, takže táto dvojka u mňa určite zabodovala oveľa viac. Už to nemalo taký ten detský nádych, aj keď sú hrdinovia deti. Stiefvaterová u mňa určite zabodovala. A som zvedavá na Gartha Nixa.

What a disappoint to a great start of a story by Brandon Mull. I was amazed that an author could spend an entire book and yet have no character development. It was like a 180 degree turn from who they had been developing into.

Another five star book in the series. This book is a creative and more adventurous book than the first with more action. I can say i will enjoy this series with the way these first books are. The storie is a great sequel to the original book. We continue with our heroes Melin, Connor, Abeke, Rollan, and their spirit animals. In this book we travel through Eura with Tarik and a new character named Finn to a city named Glengavin to find the great beast Rumfuss the boar. This is a boook that gives ...more

Well. It *is* better than the first book. By a long shot. Enough so that I don't completely dread reading the next book, even. The whole thing moved along much more smoothly, the plot turns didn't seem so arbitrary (none of the "we're questing,!" feel), and the portion with Rumfuss was waaaaaaaay more satisfying than their encounter with Arax in Book 1. The conclusion leaves it hanging for the next book without feeling completely jarring to the rest of the book, and there wasn't ...more

In the book Spirit Animals book 2 hunted, the four kids go on their second mission. Conor decides to go back to his village only to be captured. His friends save and continue their journey. They go to a giant castle and stay there for a while. They go into the garden and have a giant battle. They receive their treasure but Conor gives it to the enemy to save his family.
Through out the book Rollan is a stubborn and sarcastic character. He later finds out how to control his spirit animal and matur
