Courtney Whittamore- The Moral of our Stories
Loss is known to be a common tragedy that has touched us all in some way or another. This is why this universal topic is often chosen as the basis for a story. Because this is one of the common threads of humanity, it is also a common thread in storytelling and therefore can sometimes appear to be trite and poorly done. However, this is not the case. Laura Howard takes subject matter that could have easily been just another sad tale bound in tragedy and made it spring off the page in a way that ...more

I completely enjoyed this heartwarming story about two people trying to rekindle an old flame. Sometimes, life throws us curveballs and makes good things fall apart. It was refreshing to read a story about people actually working together to fix past hurts in order to revive what they once had. Sparks of old passion (and clothes) did fly, while they worked on rebuilding their communication, devotion and friendship. I

I can't imagine what it must be like to lose a twin. For Kate, her twin brother Jack was more than just a twin brother. They lived together at college, along with their friend, Noah. Their closeness made his loss even more difficult for her. At the time the three of them lived together, Noah and Kate were an item until something inexplicably drove them apart. Now, at Jack's death, Kate is returning from London after being gone for six months.

Seeing Noah again was something she expected but dread

Having read the first two books of her trilogy I was already familiar with this author. She has a unique style of writing and I was delighted to see she can write a novel that can chew you up and spit you out in this modern day contemporary. This I would also term as drama with the romance but it is heart felt with her being the puppetmaster pulling at our heart strings. It starts out strong with a blow down the door of your heart opener. The three you will read the most about is Kate, Jack and ...more

This book was a sweet, charming, endearing, quick read. I am familiar with Laura Howard from her prior published trilogy which is more paranormal and mythology; however, don't be quick to turn down this book because it is something different. Noah and Kate have spent their lives growing up together and eventually falling in love. Unfortunately, life tore there love apart and death has the potential to bring them back together. It was a truly giggle worthy read that had moments of sadness and mom ...more

Belong to Me is a sweep you off your feet addictive romance. From word one I was ready to see how Kate and Noah's story ended. Their chemistry is amazing and as the story unfolds you find yourself rooting for their relationship to heal. The relationship with Maggie, Kate's sister, and Kate is typical yet different. At times I wanted to knock Maggie upside the head but that happens when sisters fight. I can't wait to see how Maggie grows and their relationship develops in the next story. Kelsey, ...more

This was a heartwarming story about two people trying to get back what they had before. When Noah and Kate see each other again it's not under good circumstances. Their relationship fell apart seven months ago, now back in town they begin to work together to figure out the problem and try to move past it. I loved seeing them working together to try and move past it and not just try to go back to the way they were before. I really enjoyed this s

I received an ARC for an honest review. I loved this emotional love story. Kate and Noah had been separated for months until the death of her twin brother, Jack, brought her back to town. Seeing Noah again brings back all the past memories of what Kate had with Noah. Being home again had Kate confused of what went wrong in their relationship. She has to fine away to cope for her brother's death and figure out what her future holds. Can Kate and Noah find their way back into each others arms or h ...more

Belong to Me by Laura Howard is a terrifically written love story. What starts out as a web of tragedy, mistrust and loss gradually turns into a once in a life time love. I am so in love with all of these characters and cannot wait to see what happens next in this series. Howard has a way of holding on to my emotions and bringing them to the surface even after I finish reading her books. A forever fan. More please.

I really enjoyed this story. Having never read anything by Laure Howard before, I was pretty eager to see what they story was all about. I was drawn to the premise because of the simple fact that I love reunion stories. Romances that didn't work out at one point, but the main characters want to try again. I'm always curious to see if authors will portray the emotional turmoil of such an instance. And I think Laura Howard has some skill

Kate and Noah discovered love together but didn't build a solid foundation first. When things got tough, she bolted. Then, Kate's twin brother dies and she heads back home. Noah's there. They can't deny the magnetic attraction, but can it ever be more?

I look for four things in a memorable romance: strong characters (no whine, please), a slow build, emotions, and reality. I know... I'm not typical. Every once in a while, I can get lost in the love-at-first-sight quick read. But for something to s

4/5 (Very Good)

I received a copy of this book from Xpress Tours in exchange for a fair and honest review.

This story was sweet and depressing. There were ups and downs throughout the story, with a pretty big downer as the beginning, the loss of Jack, Kate’s twin brother. Kate came back from her year in London to mourn and bury her brother. She reconnects with her best friend and ex-lover, Noah. There are definitely feelings still there but

Belong To Me was a really good short read. It was a great story about a second shot at love. At first I read the summary and I thought I knew what I was going in for. In reality, I had no idea. I never expected these characters to have so much history- both tragic and beautiful. They were best friends and their relationship just clicked. They made sense. I know the feeling of thinking you've moved on and then realizing you were fooling yourself all along. But this book was much more than that.

Since reading The Danaan Trilogy by Laura Howard, I was pretty excited to read another series by her. I absolutely loved reading that trilogy. Now, here's another series, a contemporary romance, by her that I enjoyed a lot. Belong To Me is a New Adult Contemporary Romance that's not your typical love story. Falling in love the first time wasn't easy. Falling in love a second time...with the same guy...was even

I rarely read New Adult books, but I have to admit, I love any and all kinds of romance, so this book kinda sucked me in since the first page. The romance in this book was a little bit slow, which is actually a good thing, because the main characters aren’t rushing back to fall in love with each other, and this makes it seemed more real, you know? And both of the characters weren’t perfect. They each had their flaws. Kate was such a pessimist, that there were times I wanted to jump into the book ...more

Belong to Me was a fantastic story about getting a second chance with your first love. Even though Kate and Noah weren’t separated for long, their separation left scars for both of them. When Kate’s brother dies, Kate and Noah are forced to interact which leads to them figuring out what they are to each other.

I loved the journey the two main characters took. I think they grew so much by working out their problems and coming to terms with their losses. My favorite thing to look for in a book in

This book wrecked me, Kate and Noah the forever kind of love, or at least they thought they did, but when a tragic loss to both of them brings them back together can things ever go back to the way they were. When Kate lost her twin brother it was a loss she never thought she would handle, jack was the other half, but his death impacted Noah as well, with Jack and Noah being bet friends. with Noah and Kate being around each oth

this is the story about Kate and Noah who were childhood friends which led into their first relationship and eventually love. it seems these two are truly forced together by Nature. this book invokes quite a few different feelings for me ranging from love to hate to sadness and ultimately that satisfied. I absolutely love the book until the very end. I wasn't a big fan of the main climax to the book where Kate and Noah finally realized they have a love-hate relationship. Sometimes when tragedy strikes you find out who you can count on. Kate's family deals with loss, but it is worse for Kate as she loses her twin. Noah, her first love, is there and sparks from the past are ignited. They both played a part in their prior breakup, but when they meet up now they still feel a connection. The problem is that in order to have a future, they will need to work through their past to get there. I thought this story was terrific and I felt that I knew the characters and cou ...more

I like this book, the story it's just so realistic. it could happen to anyone and this is what make it hard for me to read between the kleenex and red eyes lol it's the kind of story that will stay with me. I have laugh and cry and felt the characters pain and joy. So I just say Laura did deliver a very touching story of love, strength, hope. Even in your darkest days there is always lights at the end of the tunnel. I absolutely recommend this book!

Good for free

The story moves swiftly. There was a lot of stuff not explained that took it down a star. This could be a set up for book 2.

The story was complete for the two main characters. Minimum steam. The end wasn't a hea its a hea for now maybe more later. The end will satisfy most.

The love story of Kate and Noah was completely heart warming.
The characters were very life like and real. The emotions in the book were real and raw which made reading the book extremely enjoyable.
I would recommend Belong to me for anyone who is looking for a believable romance, rekindled love, second chances, and all around great read.

This was an enjoyable read and a second chance romance. The characters I thought were done very well.. This book easily pulled me into their story. I really enjoyed the characters and at the end found myself hoping that there will be more in store for these two...

I enjoyed the read. The plot was nicely done and the characters were nicely developed. I found myself laughing and crying through the book, especially since the loss that occurred was so close to home. I will say that for those who are reading or want to read, there's a trigger for child loss. Other than that, I really enjoyed the story and wished it didn't end so abruptly.
