Second chance romance.
H/h were high school sweethearts. All the people around the H then were terrible, a nest of vipers and the h got a really raw deal the first time around with the H.
In the 15 yrs separation I hated that the H was a manho what with repeated references to all the women he'd dated and the amazing kinky sexual experiences he's had while the h had one partner - her ex-husband - who was predictably lame in bed, a cheater and a jerk. The double standards are so evident that I don't

I was given an ARC from the author. :)

Ben Grady holds a very special place in my heart, and I really can't shout this books praises high enough. :) I have always loved Leah's attention to the details, no matter how small, and how her stories are more plot driven. Now don't get me wrong because this book packs plenty of steam too, but she crafts the story in such a way that it absorbs you into her world. This book is just exceptionally well written, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. The detail

This is a really great kick off to a new series from Leah Braemel. I have followed Leah through the Hauberk series and had loved them so knew that I would like this.

Slow Ride Home is about the reunion of too young lovers who learn that things were not as they seemed when they broke up all those years ago. Allie still couldn’t get over the way she was treated by Ben and his family many years ago but had a job to do and that was prove that there was no other valid/legal claim to the Grad

It seems like it’s been a long time since Leah Braemel has released a book and if this book in indicative as to why, then the wait was worth it. Slow Ride Home is the first book in her Grady Legacy series and it left me feeling excited about what was discovered and what is to come.

This book takes place in my home state of Texas which I have found can be a blessing or a curse when it comes to

OMG! I can't tell you how much I loved reading Slow Ride Home by author Leah Braemel! I was immediately drawn to Ben and Allie's love story right from the first page when these two past lovers set eyes on each other again after fifteen years. My heart broke as they found out how others they trusted interfered in their young love all those years ago. We got to see small glimpses of that carefree love, but it is their present relationship that has just "wowed" me.

I gotta say I love when a hero of

This was my first book by Leah Braemel and it won't be my last.

I loved the story here...high school sweethearts who were broken up by secrets and betrayal who end up back together when she comes out to his ranch to help settle a fraudulent claim on the title of his ranch. Allie and Ben were great together. It was obvious from the very beginning that he never stopped loving her, even though it had been 15 years since she left. Allie, on the other hand, was a little more hesitant to get i

This is one of those times that I wish I wrote better reviews because there is just no way I'm going to do this book justice. To say that I loved this book would be a GROSS understatement. SRH touched my heart in a way that no other books has done for a while now. The characters are not only relatable but they are real, absolutely and completely real. I admit, I'm a Texan and an Aggie so I might be a little biased but all that aside

This was not the explicit erotica ride that I was expecting, pardon the pun, given my reading of Ms. Braemel's other works, but for a contemporary romance, it was pretty freaking hot. The insurance claim was VERY, VERY interesting to me, but I think there may have been a little too much legalese and detail paid to that for the average reader. I am an insurance adjuster and know nothing about title insurance, so to me, it was interesting, but I think others may find it very boring. However, the b ...more

I am not big on Cowboy romance , its not a genre I've ever got into but something about the synopsis ticked the right boxes, maybe it was Bens apparent sensual skills, or the strong character of Allie, either way i'm glad this book made its way into my life. So we start of meeting Allie, a strong lawyer with a past we don't learn much about. We know something has happened but we dont learn straight away which leaves the reader guessing. We swiftly meet Ben, ill admit it, i wasnt keen - but

Secrets, scandal and betrayal…oh my! I really enjoyed this book, and I’m very much looking forward to more books in this series. This is the story of Ben and Allie, high school sweethearts who were torn apart by the betrayals of those closest to them. When a claim is made against part of Ben’s ranch and Allie is the title insurance investigator sent to get to the bottom of the situation all the old chemistry is back but with it so are the old hurts. Will these two be able to sort out the past in ...more

***3.5 out of 5 stars***

This was my first book from Leah Braemel. I received a review copy from the publisher through NetGalley.

I enjoyed this book enough that I want to read the next book in the series. I really loved Ben and Allie both as individuals and as a couple. I did have a problem with Allie giving Ben mixed signals over and over when it was clear she still loved him. I understood because of their past her being somewhat hesitant, but really wanted her to let go of her issues a bit soon

Allie even after all these years that girl is still sweet on Ben, "holy crap Butch's cooking wasn't the only thing she wanted to sink her teeth into - Ben's a**, so wonderfully outlined by his chaps, just begged to be bitten." He's so bossy as well, "hold this" was the only warning she got before he hoisted her into the truck bed." He's considerate, "I don't want you to think all I want from you is a quickie up against a tree or in the back of my truck or...that I'm only interested in you for se ...more

E: I was flipping through the collections in my ereader a few weeks ago and saw Leah Braemel’s name. Looking inside there was a book that I remembered reading, enjoying and wishing she had written more in that particular setting. I also found myself thinking for the severalth time that I really wanted to read more of her writing in general. In happy coincidence shortly afterwards I became aware that she had a new story

This is my first book by Leah Braemel and is the first book in her new series about the Grady brothers, one of which is quite a surprise for everyone, reader as well as characters, near the end of this story. I like our hero Ben a lot. I always fall hard for a sexy cowboy. Allie is his weak spot, even after all the years she’s been gone and then suddenly reappears in his life. Despite all the lies and deceit they discover in their past and the fact he and his brother Jake could lose the ranch, B ...more

This is actually not a new book (published Nov. 2013). It’s been on my TBR list for a long time. I know shame on me, right? I really am sorry I couldn’t make time for this one sooner. I wished I had. I absolutely loved it.

I have been a fan of Leah Braemel since 2010 when I took a chance on Personal Protection, her first book in the Hauberk Protection Series. I fell in love with the way she portrayed her heroes and heroines. Ms. Braemel’s heroes are men of honor and her cowboys are some of the s

This is the first book in a new contemporary series with characters with a painful past. Ben and Allie were inseparable as teens. Allie's dad worked on Ben's family ranch and his family didn't approve of Allie. Several things happened back then that she thought forever would set them apart. Her dad got fired for stealing from the ranch and someone made a sex tape of Ben and his best friend Logan and her together. She left town with her heart and pride broken. Now years later she's back and she's ...more
Ben Grady is half owner of the Bull's Hollow ranch. He is a partner with his brother Jake. His first love was Allie Daniels. They dated in high school until Allie's father was found out as a thief and they left town. Ben has never gotten over Allie. Turns out there was a video made of Ben, Allie and Ben's best friend, Logan when they had a threesome. This video led to Allie losing her scholarship to Texas A&M.

Fast forward fifteen years and Allie is a lawyer who handles property title disputes. B

I'm a sucker for second chances. I had just finished reading a really heavy romance/suspense and needed something lighter. Slow Ride Home, while lighter, isn't a total fluff story. There's some family dynamics that will blow you away. The lengths to which some people will go to keep the family name and legacy untarnished is unbelievable. This book is an easy read and the intrigue that is there is easily resolved with not a lot of drama. It is a pretty typical second chance story.

A new series that will follow the Grady brothers (3) who have had a somewhat difficult life, but have stuck together through it all. This first book follows Ben who is fighting to save the ranch from some locals who claim another son exists and that they own part of the ranch. The bank has sent out a claims officer, who just happens to be Allie, Ben's first love who was kicked off the ranch by Ben's grandfather after her father was found guilty of theft.

I loved this book. Allie is a lawyer and she works for a title insurance agency in Houston. She has to go home to the ranch she and her father were thrown off of 15 years ago and help the owners save it. Someone has sold half of the ranch but the owners Ben and Jake Grady said they did not sell any of it. Allie has to figure out what is going on and save the ranch.

She still has feelings for Ben who she loved when she was 18. They had plans to go to Texas A&M together that fall

Slow Ride Home is the first installment in The Grady Legacy by Leah Breamel. This series opener has it all. From the hint of mystery to the almost erotic romance, this series is one to look out for.

I loved the idea of a second chance relationship, especially if one of the parties are pissed. So this romance was right up my alley. And who doesn’t love a cowboy? The sex scenes are borderline erotic and I was quickly turning pages as I fanned myself.

I especially loved that the side characters were

Ben and his brother just lost their father and one of their barnes burned down. The insurance company send in a woman to investigate and it is not other then Ben’s ex Allie. She did not want to come out in the first place as she knew it would not go too well. Allie and Ben slowly come to terms with what happened between them and start to search of who would want to burn the barn and they might have someone else that is also owner of the ranch.

It has been awhile since I have read a cowboy romance as I don't tend to read them much anymore, but I did enjoy this contemporary romance. It took me awhile to get into the story as I didn't understand all the insurance claims and it made the story a bit complex, but once I understood what was going on with all the characters, I was totally invested. I really like that there are going to be two more books about the Grady men because I now have real feelings for these characters. Good story, goo ...more

Slow Ride Home was outstanding! I loved it! This is a second chance romance story sucked me in right from the start! I loved the characters, the authors writing style (this was a first time read for me) and plot. Ben and Allie were high school sweethearts that are thrown back together several years later. Its a rough road back and they have a lot of things to work through but of course, they do get their HEA. :)
This is first in a new trilogy and its the perfect way to kick off a series!
