it had all the tropes im an absolute sucker for, from bestfriends to lovers to easily flustered x nonchalant to shared hobbies to scared to confess out of fearing for losing relationship. the characters felt insanely endearing, even the short appearance ones like the parents and grandparents, and i liked the messages about the fear of seeing people differently during relationships. Overall a super solid read and the artstyle absolutely delivers!!
It was super just wholesome, but I can't give it 5 stars cause it suffers from what most gay Manga suffers from in the no talk about the actual understanding of sexuality part in themselves. And I can't blame the author. It's a societal problem there since they are still not very embracing of anything not heterosexual.
This is extremely super duper adorable!!! Ahhh, I can't handle this, it's too fluffy.
Additionally, as a fan of ikemen, of course, I really love this manga. The art is beautiful, both Minato and Wataru are depicted brilliantly, and there's also the cute lil boss character.
The story is very light, but I can say that this time it’s not a problem for me. Even though my favorite element, angst, isn’t really present in the plot, I still like this manga.
It’s not a masterpiece, but I can guarantee that it will be easily accepted and loved by readers. Its heartwarming story will have a special place for the readers.
4.5★ this was so freaking cute!!! i love Roji sensei's art so much and I'm a sucker for childhood friends to lovers so that combination alone was already perfect for me but adding on the photography theme, specifically the interest in capturing your loved ones more than worrying about techniques and the likes, which is something i've loved and have done myself for years, just made this story even more special to me
i loved the characters and how their relationship unfolded. despite the drama around Wataru's conflicting feelings, it was really warm how easily they made each other feel loved
and baby minato was so cute!! 🥺
the only reason it's not a 5★ is because i would've liked to see them dating for a bit, even if just an extra, but there was basically nothing so it was a little sad. but the way it ends is still really sweet!
Best friends to lovers romance. Nothing out of the ordinary, the confession comes out of nowhere with no buildup (I guess, if you could call their friendship outside the pages of the story “build up” then there is one.)
It was making a thread between photography and the way you view the things you love, and making that a declaration of feelings between the two main characters, which is a common thing and I’m not saying it’s bad.
But it just comes off as barely-there substance when I don’t even get any moments of chemistry and care between the two people before I get bombarded with how they love each other from the first chapter. Yes, you’ve given me info on how they’ve been friends since high school and lived together through college; was I just supposed to gather my memories from personal experience on how that would feel like for the story to have a solid foundation of their history and feelings?
The sweetest manga ever! They were such cuties throughout the manga and although not much happened, the manga was melancholic and sweet. From now on it’s one of my favorite<3
Wataru and Minato have known each other for ten years - meeting in photography club in high school and living together during college, then losing touch for three years when Minato moved away for work after graduation. When he returns, he surprises Wataru by asking him to live with him again - this time as his boyfriend.
It should be perfect, since Wataru realized before Minato left that he was in love with him, but he spends the entire volume resisting the invitation. Thus the title, as Minato gradually convinces him to say yes.
In some ways, it doesn't really make sense; his primary reason is that he's terrified of losing their friendship if they start dating. This is largely due to his ex-girlfriends telling him that they only liked him because they "loved" him, but they didn't really like anything else about him or his hobbies without that basis of romance to excuse his flaws. So they'd ultimately break up with him when he spent too much time in his photography studio, etc.
Every time there was a breakup, he came home to Minato, who loved him for who he truly was - as a friend, who wasn't asking anything more from him. It makes some sense for him to want to cling to that. Excuse by the time this volume started, they'd already lost the friendship? He and Minato hadn't kept in touch after the move. So where's this "best friends" deal that he's trying so hard to maintain?
Minato's side was honestly a bit sweeter; I liked when it switched to his point of view. He's never been great at communicating his feelings to other people; kids thought he was creepy because he didn't really show emotions or talk to them, but he's always liked being around people. So when he saw his grandfather taking photos of his grandmother - showing his love for her through the daily portraits - he picked up photography as a hobby, and ended up connecting with Wataru in that way. Wataru saw the love through the camera lens and truly understood him.
At least as much as any two people can, which is another element of the story - that the point is to just keep trying, because you're never going to fully get everything about another person. You just spend your life working on it because you care about them.
My favorite scene was when Minato told his grandfather that he's moving in with Wataru, romantically this time. His grandfather says he doesn't understand it, but that he's okay with anyone he cares about. This leads to a really sweet and funny exchange about the daily photos, which he plans to start doing with Wataru as the subject.
So definitely some cute stuff in here, even if it's not the best-paced or in-depth story.
Tears right from the start / he is talking about love without minding my boys feelings or does he have feelings too and my boy is suffering for nothing !? / Minato is dangerous for Wataru’s heart / SAY WHAT AGAING!? / I’m in love with his straightforwardness / why is he digging his own grave!? / oh lord. he said it. / oh Minato, you sweet talker / oh my… realisations at midnight / the good thing about the angst is that this story is a countdown to him saying yes so it’s okay / my boy is realising more things now that they’re apart on purpose / this mangas about photography and film or anything artsy are so *chef’s kiss*

This was a cute read, i will say though that Wataru annoyed me. I know its a type of character that is ditzy and a loof. But my goodness, he was a man-child. Other than that, the story flowed really well. Minato was patient but also he was expressive so i’m not sure why people in the story kept saying he wasn’t. This was a cleanser read.
This book is cute, I like the way the main characters who are opposites, have many things in common like taking pictures. In my opinion since it’s short, it will be like a quick story that has a happy ending for bedtime.
