Be still my heart! Where do I begin with this one? Besides, to yell "I LOVED THIS BOOK!!" I mean total and complete! This one will be a read I return to after some time. For me that is a HUGE statement because I am not a re-reader often. Once I know a story, then I know it. There is no surprise left. With THIS book...WOW!!

White Leaves (E.L.F) is a fantasy novel in every way. I would truly like to tell much about this book, only I have no clue HOW to do so without ruining the ride for other read

Let me start by saying that this book is for people who love very descriptive writers, and the writing was very advanced. I didn't even know there was a glossary until after the last page. I am also not a tree hugger, so with that out of the way.
Shannon Hunter is part of an Eco- terrorist group called ELF. One night her and the group try to set off a few incendiary devices and are easily apprehended by the FBI. Before she can get carted off to jail a figure appears on a hill and shoots an arrow

White Leaves is the first in Author M.P. Ness’s E.L.F. series, and is beyond anything I could have expected.

The book follows Shannon Hunter, an eco-terrorist working for an organization called E.L.F. (Earth Liberation Front) who unknowingly stumbles into the world of Elves. That sentence alone is enough to make you assume that this book will be singing and dancing and all the merry things that comes with the old Elf mythology. But the Elvine in this novel are by no means anything to underestimat

I was given this book from Tour de Blogg in exchange for an honest review. I was interested in reading about elves in a modern age.

The story's opening automatically draws you in, allowing you to both get to know the main character as well as bringing you into it. I was immediately hooked.

The biggest drawback I found was its wordiness. There were many times I felt entire paragraphs could have been cut down to a sentence - or I found something repeated multiple times on a page. It kept pulling me

Wonderful!

This book is wonderful. The beginning drew me in with no effort at all. I was wrapped up in this tale and ate it up hungrily. The descriptions, wonderful. The conversations, believable. The ending, mind blowing! I loved it. From 70% on in the novel I was reading so close to the kindle that I had folks making fun of me in my home. Usually I am one to make a snippy comment to hush them up, but because I would have had to stop reading to do so, it went undone. I loved the book, I loved th

With a lot of unexpected elements, this book will suck you in and keep you guessing. With characters that are easy to relate to, you feel as if you are traveling right alongside them in this end-of-the-world scenario. This is full of energy and life. I highly recommend it to everyone and I hope you will all take the opportunity to read this great book.

I recently finished reading “White Leaves” by new author M. P. Ness, and I’d have to say it was a unique fantasy read. I very much enjoyed it.

“White Leaves” starts off with an action- packed “bang” and readers will meet Shannon Hunter, the book’s main character, an eco-terrorist and a member of the elusive Earth Liberation Front (E.L.F.), hard at work attempting to stop the environmentally unfriendly bull-dozing and logging practices of a large multi-million dollar conglomerate. Unfortunately fo

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I was really intrigued by this story as I hadn't heard of anything like this before. I have read elf stories before, but nothing as imaginative and original as White Leaves. Shannon Hunter is trying to help the environment by joining E.L.F., the Earth Liberation Front. She is on an E.L.F. mission when things go terribly, terribly wrong. There are explosions and people getting shot and she ends up in the hospital. She's not sure if ...more

M.P Ness starts off White Leaves with a BANG, literally! Our main character, Shannon Hunter, is a member of an eco-terrorist organization called E.L.F (Earth Liberation Front). While on a mission of protest she somehow inadvertently gets mixed up with Elves. There are explosions, people get shot and some even disappear!

White Leaves is set in a time like our full of technology but also filled with myth. The mythology is tied in from different cultures. From the Chinese philosophy Ying and Yang to

White Leaves is the first in Author M.P. Ness's E.L.F. series. What is E.L.F. White Leaves? It is a fantasy adventure, a world where everything is not as it seems. Ness pulls the reader into the action, revealing a world on the brink of destruction. The descriptions are very realistic while entertaining.

Let me just start this off by saying that I'm not a big fantasy guy. I mean, I can enjoy fantasy if it's light on the fantasy and more on the realistic side of things, but I've never been a guy who's into elves or sorcery. E.L.F. starts off on a realistic note, given that it's about eco-terrorists, but then it goes off into a different territory involving elves and stuff like that. That's where it threw me a little. That said, I am probably one of the only people who cannot get through the Lord ...more

The action throughout the chapters is amazing and the story itself is full of life and energy. The characters are flawed making them more real to the reader and Ness throws in some hard concepts that they have to face.

This book is recommended to fantasy adventure lovers

I picked this up at Norwescon, directly from the author. I had high hopes for it -set in Seattle it has a unique dystopian fantasy world vibe and a unique plot going for it.

While the book starts off with a literal bang as Shannon ends up in the middle of an elf attack on a logging operation, the over-written descriptions and frequent sentence repeats kept drawing me out of the story. An entire chapter consists of nothing but the main elf’s superior yelling ‘But you didn’t kill her’ over and over

I won this book while participating in another author's online book release party. The holidays cuts jnto my reading time unfortunately, but this book was well written and full of adventure that I cannot wait to start the second book in the series (which I also won).

Shannon Hunter is determined to protect the environment at all costs, but this drive to do so leads her on the adventure of a lifetime with some fantasy creatures that one though only existed in fairy tales. M.P. Ness takes you on a

M.P. Ness, born April 15th (1982) shares his birthday with the infamous Leonardo DaVinci, and seems to own perhaps a fair share of the creative spirit and ability for which the old world master was known.
M.P. is a classically and commercially trained visual artist and writer/screenwriter, and sometime musician, with hopes of ultimately making his stories into blockbuster films, and/or animations.
