Start your review of Rob Macnab: A Story of Old Pictou

This is a quaint book, written in 1923. I read it because I am interested in Nova Scotia history. It was a bestseller in its time and it was fun to read but it suffers from a lack of character development and a drifting narrative. There are a few good, stirring scenes and it provides an intriguing glimpse into the early days of settlement in Nova Scotia. It has illustrations by the notable C. W. Jeffreys. I'm glad I read it.
