I finally got a copy of this oddly titled book (though still have no idea how "Grace Before Meat" describes it). It's classic Sara Seale: a mid-teens heroine who looks even more childlike than her age, and acts even more childlike than that, a damaged hero well into his thirties, a glamorous other woman who's a bitch-beyond-compare, a country house and a trip up to London and lots of clothes. Oh - and some debts and a touch of blackmail. And very little romance/passion.

I really enjoyed this book, but of course I enjoy nearly all Sara Seal’s books. The main heroine could of being very annoying, but fortunately she did not grate me like other Sara Seal’s heroines. The hero was quiet but firm and despite the heroine being a bit spoilt and he could get annoyed with her, he never stopped liking her even when she was spoilt child. In a couple of Sara Seal’s novels I have read the heroine starts of quite young and you could say especially by todays standards they are ...more
