So much deceit.
So many omissions.
So much lying.
So exhausting...

I hate it when I know that one character is out to completely screw over another character and yet that character is too fucking dumb to catch on. Frustrating. Le sigh.

I must admit to skimming through parts of this just to get to the BIG scene that I knew had to be coming. What with all the deceit, omissions, and lying...

This thing is like the baby of Fifty Shades and Cruel Intentions. For realz.

Regardless, I find myself swept up in these Days of Our Lives. I really love Hudson. And Alayna - while so gullibly dumb as mentioned above - is endearing to me in her own way too. I just wish she'd stop with the silly secrets, etc.

I will definitely read book three...after I've rested up from this one. My head it tired from swinging back and forth watching this tennis match of a book.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Because when all of your AWESOME GR homies tell you to read book two...

...you fucking read book two.

First, here's my new casting for Hudson:

If you are a fan of dominant billionaires and passionate romance, this is a must-read series!!

In this follow-up to book #1,  Fixed On You , Hudson and Alayna are put to the test as secrets are revealed and their new relationship is taken to the next level.

Found In You was an addictive, fast-paced, steamy ride that kept me turning the pages as fast as I could!! Readers who loved the first book will most certainly fall in love with this one too!

Be sure to read this series in order though as it is one continuous story following the same couple. The book do not end with cliffhangers soyou can start reading at anytime without fear of being left hanging.

I'm not going to talk much about the plot here because it's nearly impossible to do so without giving spoilers. Suffice it to say that Hudson was fuckhot as ever and the things that man says and does are guaranteed to keep your heart racing!!

"If you want possessive alpha male, I can certainly comply."

*fans self* Yes, please!

He's exactly the kind of hero I love - the perfect blend of confident, alluring and dominant, while also quite damaged and messed up on the inside. It's quite a delicious combination and seeing that kind of hero fall hard for his woman just gets me everytime.

But it wasn't all hearts and rainbows. Both Hudson and Alayna had pasts they weren't proud of and despite how open they were with each other, there were still dark secrets in Hudson's past that he was afraid to reveal for fear that it would tear them apart for good.

"Has it ever crossed your mind that I might have done things you could never forgive?"

And to be truthful, when some of those secrets were revealed, even I was shocked! They were dark!! Like really dark... and I totally understood his reservations about telling her. That said, I absolutely loved the way Alayna handled it. I loved that she didn't excuse it but was able to see the reasons behind his actions and was also able to see his desire to change and the efforts he'd put into doing so.

Everything about everyone raised question after question. While this wasn't a mindfuck by any means, it was a constant guessing game at what everyone's true motivations were. Given their pasts, could you believe everything you saw on the outside? How much was everyone hiding?

To me, this book was very much about trust. Earning trust, keeping trust, and learning to put trust in each other. The secrets that came out put everything to the test and it was harder in their case than it would normally be because given both of their troubled histories, they both were prone to deep-seeded insecurities, raging jealousies and irrational fears and had to work hard to both overcome their own personal demons and also put in the efforts towards building a healthy relationship together. Luckily though, they both were very aware of their issues and knew their weak points and because of this awareness and acceptance, they were able to help each other through some of the hardest situations.

"I need you to know that I'm trying and I'm not going to stop trying until I get there. Do you hear me? Don't give up on me."

It was interesting though because since the whole story is told from Alayna's POV, we're always connected to her and always know what's going on in her head - we know when she has fears and insecurities, we know when she's lying and telling the truth, we know everything. But with Hudson, we only saw him from the outside - specifically, through Alayna's eyes - and there was so much in his past that made trusting him a bit of a gamble. I felt like I was putting my heart out on the line along with Alayna.

But I just loved them both so much. Y'know, they were messed as individuals but every single thing that happened still made sense. And by that I mean that I always understood the reasons behind what was going on even when it hurt and made me frustrated (except with one character who I won't name but seriously I have NO idea what is going on with them!! And I really, really freaking want to know!!).

I really just wanted to hug them both. They were so "dysfunctional functional" if that makes any sense. They both wanted so badly to make things work and both honestly put in a ton of effort to work through things together even. You really got the feeling that it was them against the world.

"Our pasts will always threaten to come between us. But nothing can come between us unless we let it."

They're just one of those couples who I just believe in. I feel very strongly for them and respect them enough to trust that even though they'll mess up, I think they'll always find their way back to each other. It's a really wonderful feeling to have as a reader and I'm really just loving the journey of watching them sort their issues out and build their relationship.

"I’d never be a normal girl and Hudson would never be a normal guy, but perhaps we’d found the closest thing to normal that we’d ever be capable of achieving. And it was pretty damn good.”

Overall the pacing was excellent - the story was constantly moving forward and developing, there were no slow points and nothing that I felt I needed more or less of. The writing was strong - I really felt quite connected to Alayna and Hudson and stayed fully immersed in their story. And the plot was intriguing - it had twists I didn't see coming and some truly epic scenes that had me laughing and squeeing out loud.

The sex was just off-the-charts HOT!!! The chemistry, the intensity, the variety... everything about it just had me fanning myself from start to finish! I did also really like that despite the story being quite erotic, I felt that the balance between sex and character development was very well handled.

There is a huge HOLY SHIT moment in the last section of the book that had me gasping!! What an epic clusterfuck! It was a total one-two punch of reveals, one of which I'd suspected and the other that I just never saw coming!

The ending was not a cliffhanger. Relationship-wise, Hudson and Alayna are in a good place at the end but we do learn something which has my mind racing already and definitely looking very forward to the final book in this trilogy! But, I'd say it's very safe to jump right in though if you want.

I really loved the overall message too -- that even people with broken pasts, who'd messed up and done thing they'd forever regret could still work their way back to a good place and still be able to be a part of a healthy relationship. I found it extremely heartwarming.

If you're a fan of the Crossfire series, then I'd call these books a must-read because they have very much of a similar feeling to them despite the plots being different so definitely check them out if dominant, fuckhot Alpha male billionaires make your heart race. Hudson Pierce now has a place on my favorites shelf along with Christian Grey, Gideon Cross and James Cavendish.

Highly recommended!

I LOVED the first book of this series and perhaps the reasons weren’t the same as other fans. I wasn't hot guy crazy, I just loved Alayna Withers, the main character. She was completely different and I loved her obsessions and her quirks and her crazy past.

In this book she is STUPID not quirky. Hudson tells her not to associate with Celia so what does she do? She becomes BFFs with the woman?

description

With her new secret BFF she confides and makes plans to keep stuff from Hudson and the two woman pinky swear on it? I mean really? Who the hell pinky swears over the age of 10?

“Then I won’t tell him either.” She put her hand up and dangled her last finger. “Pinky swear.”

description

I’m guessing that this will ALL blow up in her face, which should happen because this was such a stupid decision that I can’t even believe that this character would put herself in this position!

description

I’m sadden to say that Alayna went from a fantastic heroine that I wanted all great things for to a woman who would set herself up for such a fall. I mean part of her issues are paranoia...so why would she pinky swear with the devil?

Why the author decided to go this route with a great character is beyond me!

If it get's better PLEASE let me know.

4.25 Flawed and even more Deliciously Sexy Stars

- "You think we 're both fifty shades of fucked up, don't you?"
- "Nah, not that bad. Maybe twenty-five shades."

description

Love will find you when you least expect it. When you feel you least deserve it. Your perfect match, the soul mate you wouldn't dare admit that you have been waiting for will smack you right in the face and will make you open your heart, sooth old scars and admit painful mistakes. In the meantime it will drive you more crazy than normal and knock you socks (and panties) right off.

description

Alayna and Hudson started a charade of a relationship but fear, past wounds and a hot mess of a family couldn't stop love. Normal is rather boring and crazy is the new black. Ladies, this couple is scorching hot!!!

description

But love doesn't come easy. Laynie's stalker mistakes, Hudson's twisted past, his family and bitch of an ex will make their life together complicated and try to force them second-guess their feelings. Can a couple who always believed that doesn't deserve a happily ever after claim theirs? Or insecurities will drive them apart?

description

HELL YEAH!!!!

Hot and just the right amount of naughty, passionate and well written, this second book in Laurelin Paige's Fixed Series draws us deeper into the relationship of a couple so dysfunctional that normally shouldn't stand a chance.

"You 're the first person I've ever met who makes me believe I might not be crazy. It's the best thing that's ever happened to me. You 're the best thing that's ever happened to me."

description

Can't wait for the next!

BTW, is it just me or these covers are getting better and better? And by that I mean hotter!!! *chuckles*

5 ‘No one but you.’ Kisses!

Ooooomg if I loved Hudson Pierce before I'm officially uncurably obsessed. So obsessed I think I make Laynie look sane. I have to say I was a very complicated mess thru most of this book...bouncing between anxious and horny. Yeah...I told you...mess! This series is like my crack…I cannot deny the hypnotic hold it has on me and I love it so much. First of all…if you have not read Fixed on You, please…stop whatever you’re doing and read it. It blew me away…plus none of this will make sense!

Laynie...wow, I feel like a proud momma or something. My girl is growing up and I'm so proud! There was so much growth for her in this book...necessary growth...good growth…positive growth. She becomes the healthy non-obsessive person she always knew she could be, in a healthy relationship with the man of her dreams (and mine!). She is logical and rational...analytical in good ways...she just blew my mind with how much more I fell in love with her as a character. She’s stronger, braver…she’s doing what is in her best interest rather than acting irrationally or impulsively. She still makes mistakes and some that had me screaming at my kindle trying to get her to stop…but she’s learning from them – which is key.

‘Hudson lifted my chin to meet his stare. “I want you.”
The look on his face – he wasn’t upset by my outburst at all. Other men had been scared away by similar unfounded accusations. But Hudson-not only did his expression show an absence of fear, it showed hunger, desire. Almost as though my paranoia was a turn-on.
“You have me,” I whispered.’

Hudson Alexander Pierce - there are no words for him. My love knows no bounds for this man and if it was possible for me to fall in love with him any more…mission accomplished. And just as much as Laynie grew, so did he! He's nothing like the cold heartless manipulator he once was. He's a changed man and it's all thanks to Alayna. He still has a long way to go but Laynie has brought him light years away from where he once was. He needs her...so badly and my heart just melts at the thought of his emotions for her. Watching him be in a relationship is…different. I can’t lie and say that a part of me was waiting for the possible moment that he got scared or changed his mind or let his past get the better of him – but it never happened. Which just made him even more perfect.

‘He leaned back in to rub his nose against mine. “If you acted as smart as you are, you would have stood me up weeks ago.”
“Good thing I don’t act smart.”
“Good thing for me, yes.”’

So Found In You picks up right where Fixed On You left off. No overlapping, no redundancy, just smooth transition from one to the other. Same fabulous characters continuing their delicious story. And oh my...Alayna and Hudson together are more than just delicious. Hello...I think I need another word for hot! Just... Wow ! Set the pages of my kindle on fire, panty disintegrating, sweet baby jeebus HOT! They’re sexy and passionate and that is all part of their connection. It's the way Hudson shows his love for her, the best way he shows his love because he can't say it. Or maybe not that he can’t say it…maybe that he doesn’t want to admit it? But I felt it. OMG with every piece of my heart, in every action that Hudson makes, every word he says to her, it just bleeds love. Their sexual connection isn't all they have but when all else is failing it's what brings them back to 'them'. To what they have and how they can't love without each other.

‘He growled – actually growled – and I shivered at the sound. But despite how his sounds and reactions made me completely weak and dizzy, I suddenly felt powerful. There was nothing in the world that I could imagine that would be strong enough to cause Hudson Pierce to relinquish his authority – nothing in the universe that could make him yield to anyone.
Yet here he was giving in to me.
Yes, I felt very powerful.’

So...Hudson is not the hearts and flowers type and it's easy enough to get me to swoon when he's so fuckin sexy and says some of the hottest things ever...but he really did make me swoon with some über romantic lines! See?!! I told you he was changing! He has some pretty romantic gestures too...and then he turns around and fucks her on the rooftop of a restaurant - so thru and thru, he's still Hudson...he's just an improved version! :-) But you can never take the hot alpha cave man out of Hudson Pierce…and Thank God for that!

‘His gray eyes searched mine for long seconds. “How does it feel to belong to me?”
I didn’t know if he was still playing or not. For me, the game was over. It was with sincerity that I answered. “Perfect.”’

Alright, the reason I was anxious...you would think it might have been Sophia...well not that the wicked bitch from the east didn’t raise her ugly head every now and then and give me heart burn...but she wasn't the main reason! And it wasn't even the little lies that developed into bigger lies and things started getting sticky...though that didn’t help either! No...the cause for 90% of my anxiety was a certain back stabbing ho-bag...Celia! Fuckin cunt! I knew I didn't like her for a reason and she just gave me a shit ton more. If any bitch in the world deserves to get slapped/cunt punted/cut...this bitch is top of the list. I swear my stomach was in knots through more than 50% of the book just waiting for that moment when I was going to be crushed…and then when it happened, it was worse than I thought. But I promise you, I could not have been more proud of the way Laynie handled herself.

‘He lay beside me, wrapping his arms around me. Smoothing my hair with sensuous strokes, he spoke low at my ear. “I know it’s scary and our situation hasn’t been ideal, but you are everything good for me. Nothing in this world is important to me beyond you. I can be the same for you I know it. And I’m so grateful you’ve given me the chance to prove it.”
I shifted to face him. “You have nothing to prove. You’re already everything good for me, too.”
“Shh.” He kissed my forehead. “Not yet. I haven’t been able to give you everything you need yet.”’

Now that I've got that out of my system...I loved the ending. Perfection - I love that there wasn't a cliff again...leaving me a happy little camper but still anxious to continue Hudson and Alayna's journey. There are lots of pre-cursors...things that keep my mind thinking and anticipating! And there's a video that needs to be watched...that's all I do know! But it gives me something to crave and ponder. This was a perfect sequel to Fixed On You in every way possible - I don't think I could love it more if I tried. I feel like I need to send Laurelin Paige roses for creating the amazingness that is Hudson, because he is quickly climbing the charts towards the top of my BBF List. It surprised me, kept me on the edge of my seat with uncertainty, turned me on and warmed my heart - what more can you ask for?

Another wonderful installment in Laurelin Paige's "Fixed series!" The couple in this series is not your run of the mill conventional couple that are in most romance books. Instead, they are two people that have major skeletons in their closets, and are what most people would call disfunctional. As I was reading this book, I found myself asking the question, "What is normal?" The definition of "normal" is different to each and every one of us; but in Hudson and Alayna's world, they have found a "normal" that works for them and their relationship. I love how they accept each other's faults unconditionally, and even knowing some of the hard core skeletons, they still love each other warts and all! Of course, relationships are never perfect, and in "Found In You," there were more than a few bumps in the road for this unique couple.

The biggest hurdle in this story was the things that Hudson and Alayna were keeping from each other. Like always with hiding things and lying; they always lead to more lies and a deeper hole is usually dug. This was most definitely the case for these two, and in Alayna's mind her guilt began to eat away at her.

This story is told in Alayna's POV only, and I did find at times I would have liked to know what was going on in Hudson's head. At times I felt like he was trying harder to compromise in their relationship, where as Alayna was the one that would jump to the wrong conclusions quicker. That is hard to say though, considering Hudson's thoughts could have had the same insecurities; but I remained in the dark about that without his POV. Hudson did have a hard time telling Alayna that he loved her; but I felt he loved her in the only way he knew how. Not verbally, but through his actions..and believe me he was such a sweetheart to her. There were many things he did that just made me melt. With Alayna, she was able to be more verbal with how she felt about him, although a part of her held herself back, I felt. I admire the strength it took for her to try not to fall back into her old unhealthy patterns. She was always very aware of her actions and intentions, and if she felt she was going off the right track she immediately seeked the help and support she needed. Unfortuneatly not always from the right kind of people.

Early on in the book, I suspected certain secrets about some of the characters and their intentions regarding Hudson and Alayna's relationship. The suspense kept me on my toes through out the book, and once certain things were revealed; I found out I was right about some and others were an absolute shock!

The sex in this book is through the roof HOT!!! It is primal, animalistic, and dominating!!! I loved every minute o fit and Ms. Painge knows how to write a sex scene that will have you fanning your self and squirming in your chair! The sexual chemistry between Hudson and Alayna is explosive, and there is no shortage of the sizzling scenes between the couple.
I can't wait for the last installment in January! I will be waiting for it to be published, and I will have my one clicking finger ready!
Another wonderful advantage to this series...NO CLIFFIES!!!! Thank you so much Ms. Paige for not torturing me with cliffies that so many others use in their books! I greatly appreciate that, and this author will have a fan for life in me!

4.5 Crazy For Hudson Pierce stars!!!

 photo image_zps53b46735.jpg

Oh boy...this book DID NOT Disappoint!!
I have to say I think I have fallen HARD for Hudson Pierce!
He was freaking DELICIOUS in this one.
For a man who called himself a "Sociopath" and who seems to think he is incapable of having true emotions, he surely knows how to make a woman feel loved and can say just about the swoon worthiest things ever!!

"I've never been your boss, Alayna. If anything, you're the one who owns me." - Hudson

Hudson and Alayna are PERFECT for each other and holy hell do they get hot & heavy in the sheets, against the wall, on the desk, on the kitchen counter, in the shower, out at the Brooklyn Botanical gardens, and on a public rooftop!!
My lord, I was in need of a cold shower.
Hudson is a TRUE SEX GOD!!!

Aside from the sex, these two were taking their relationship to the next step and beyond, on the emotional scale.
I was thinking, this is TOO good to be true.
How can Hudson do a complete 180 like this?
There's got to be more to this behavior.
I had nervous anxiety through out!!
He really did handle Alayna's crazy very well!
Every time she got insecure and acted like the crazy and jealous girlfriend, he always was able to shoot down her insecurities and seemed to even love that she was that possessive of him!!
Hudson also feels a sense of security with Alayna.
He knows she is what he needs in his life. :)

"I've never been more serious, Alayna. You're the first person I've ever met who makes me believe I might not be crazy. It's the best thing that's ever happened to me. You're the best thing that's ever happened to me." - Hudson

I really, really hated Celia!!
Come on Alayna!!!
Why is her intuition so OFF??!!!!!
Other women are trying to tell her not to trust her and yet she kept confiding in that evil twit!!
I totally saw that coming by the way, at the end!!

Alayna is still growing in this book.
She's trying so hard to avoid her past mistakes.
I was really impressed with how she went about handling certain situations.
When she tries to put some distance between her and Hudson, it is Hudson who doesn't handle this so well.

"I know it's scary and our situation hasn't been ideal, but you are everything good for me. Nothing in this world is important to me beyond you. I can be the same for you. I know it. And I'm so grateful you've given me the chance to prove it." - Hudson

Oh my!!! Loving him hard when he says stuff like this!!
And this part, I nearly cried!!! My heart is filled up with so much love for him!!

"Just don't give up on us. Please, don't give up. I'm a shell without you, Alayna. I can barely breathe when you aren't near me, when I'm not touching you. Right now, it's all I can do to hold myself back from taking you in my arms." - Hudson

Things end on a good note here BUT, there is a text message that Alayna is not rushing to look at.
I have a feeling it's going to ROCK the happiness that this couple is feeling right now!

So CAN'T WAIT for "Forever With You"!!!!

I liked it but Alayna got on my nerves in this one! Why does she keep things from Hudson, specially after he requested that she doesn't talk or meet Celia unless they were together. She wants him to be open and honest but she doesn't reciprocate. This whole mess could've been avoided if they communicated better with each other. Alayna is lucky that Hudson loves her and believes in her after she lied to him so much. Girl, you need to grow up and stop hiding things from him!

I want to finish this series, but I think I'll take a break for now.

4.5 "obsessive fuck bunnies with trust issues" stars

This is the second book in what was originally the Fixed Trilogy but is now a 5-books series. It is not a standalone, so if you haven't read the first book, do not read this sequel until you have read Fixed on You. Also, please note that this review contains spoilers if you have not read book 1 yet.

Hudson (Richy Rich hottie billionaire twenty-something whose past enjoyment included manipulating people for sport) and Alayna, aka Laynie (gorgeous twenty-something bartender/manager/recent MBA graduate who has stalker tendencies) are taking things to the next level. When they met a couple of weeks ago, Hudson approached Laynie to pose as his pretend girlfriend to get his mother off his case as she has wanted him to marry her best friend's daughter Celia, a woman he has been friends with since childhood but for whom he has no romantic feelings. Celia was the only one who was in on the charade from the beginning as she agreed that she would not want to be in a relationship with him when he was incapable of loving anyone as he (and his mother) believe. And, in truth, Hudson has some very serious issues with love as he has seen very little in his family life or otherwise. On the flip side, Laynie is known for falling too hard too fast and on her own as her past relationships have ended in restraining orders. While she has been "clean" for a few years now after embracing therapy, she knows that she has these tendencies which on the one hand make her more aware of her feelings and actions, but on the other seems to allow her to latch onto Hudson's possessiveness that straddles the line of obsession. And while Hudson may not be able to say he loves her, Laynie is convinced that he does by his actions; she has decided that she can be the vocal one while he is the demonstrative half.

But beyond the issues between the couple are the external factors that threaten to tear them apart: David, her manager and once almost lover that she still works with at the club while ever-jealous Hudson is in the dark about their past; Hudson's mother Sophia who treats Laynie worse than shit on the bottom of her shoe as she is still bent on her son marrying Celia; Celia herself who Laynie can't quite read but wants to know more about Hudson via her since she has known him since childhood and is his only real friend; Mira who is Hudson's younger sister that seems supportive; and even Jack, Hudson's father who seems to like Laynie almost a little too much. Add to that the recently estranged relationship Laynie has with her only living relative (her brother Brian), and she doesn't know who to turn to. And when another person from her past joins the fray, Laynie is thrown another snag that has the potential to ruin her relationship with Hudson. While they may be growing closer as a couple, they are still hiding things from each other that may blow up in their faces and end the passionate connection they have found.

What I liked:
--- Hudson is still mega alpha male - yum! (But he does get a little more possessive/obsessive which becomes a bit much at times)
--- Laynie is a gorgeous woman, but she is super flawed which makes her feel way more relatable
--- STEAMY goodness! These 2 are seriously like bunnies in this installment
--- Interesting story line that keeps the pages turning quickly

What I didn't like as much:
--- Sometimes there is way more angst than necessary, especially with the hiding of things from each other, but they don't take too long to resolve
--- Frustrating that (mild/non-specific

Overall, another delicious read with plenty of steam, twists, crazy moments, and strong plot line. On to book 3!

Plot --- 4.5/5
Main Characters --- 4.5/5
Supporting Cast --- 4/5
Steam Level* --- 4/5
Violence --- none
Language --- the f word makes appearances early & often
POV --- 1st (Laynie's POV)

*Note that steam level is not a rating so much as a how hot was it: 0/5 - clean; 1/5 - mild; 2/5 - sensual but nothing descriptive; 3/5 - now we're getting somewhere; 4/5 - yes please! ; 5/5 - they did EVERYTHING in this one, y'all

Second book for the obsessive stalker Alayna, sociopath Hudson and Celia Werner, his childhood friend and ex-fiancée who is a mystery.
The scene has been set in book 1. All the major players are around and now it is the time to wonder: if everything ended up greatly in book 1 without a cliffhanger and Alayna and Hudson are happy together, then which is the reason for the existence of “Found In You”?

This was real, a big step—a giant step—moving deeper into Hudson’s life than anyone had ever been before. I was excited, of course. I loved the man. But did I really even know him?

No you didn't!!!

More lies
More deception
More secrets

And yes everything is too good to be true.

“It’s okay, Hudson. It’s—”
He cut me off. “It’s not. But I need you to know that I’m trying and I’m not going to stop trying until I get there. Do you hear me? Don’t give up on me.” He was vehement, his expression frantic.
“I’m not giving up on you.” I reached my palm up to caress his face and he leaned into my touch. “Why would I do that? I love you, Hudson. So much.”
His eyes closed tight, almost as if my statement were painful to him. “I don’t deserve your love. I don’t think I ever will.”

No matter the amount of angst, the book ends once more with a kind of happy ending.
However, don't be too relieved! There is always book 3.

I have to say that this is one of those rare trilogies that finish without cliffhangers between books, but you still feel exhausted every time a book finishes. And in no way you can feel any kind of closure.

***4 Practice What You Preach Stars***

This second installment felt like such a roller coaster compared to the first. Mostly due to the fact that we only see things from Alayna's POV. So I will address my feelings regarding this book directly to the source.

An open letter (ok, rambling) to Alayna:

Girl, I applauded your honesty in the first book and in this one you made me want to shake some sense into you!

You cannot preach about honesty and then keep secrets from Hudson. And a couple were quite big. Stop letting manipulative bitches, which you've been warned about by numerous people, talk you into stupid decisions. Trust your gut. Follow your own advice!! Use your therapeutic tools and your words to express how you feel. Honesty is the best policy in building a trusting relationship. And while I felt bad when everything blew up in your face.....it was only because I felt bad for Hudson....not your dumbass. But I forgive you. In the end, I understood where you were coming from, even though you frustrated the ever loving shit out of me while you were make poor choices.

Also, keep saying sweet and reassuring things to Hudson, because he needs it....and so do you.

"I love you too much, like I always do, but this time I don't regret it and I don't wish I could take it back because you need it. So take it from me, H. Take it all from me."

I will say, when you had moments of clarity, which I wish had come more often, they were brilliant.

"Hudson, though - his walls weren't as easy to overcome. They were mountains. I had to scale them cautiously with stealth and firm handholds. Sometimes I had to chill on a ledge and wait until the weather was better before I began my upward climb again. And sometimes, I'd reach the top of one, and he'd be there, waiting and exposed, and together we'd enjoy the breathtaking view."

See, I'm right. Brilliant.

And stop doubting Hudson. Listen to him. Pay attention to his actions. And whatever your ears hear and your eyes see, understand it in your brain and feel it in your heart.

"But I need you to know that I'm trying and I'm not going to stop trying until I get there. Do you hear me? Don't give up on me."

You've reached an important understanding in your relationship. Almost all of the cards are on the table. Trust your hand. Trust your bet. Know that you can win the game. Have faith in yourself and each other.

Now I'm off to the third book to find out how your journey ends. But don't you worry...I'll be finding out how Hudson felt about all of this too!

Thank you for listening. Go make better choices.

5 AMAZEBALL STARS!!!

Holyshit hotness! Laurelin definitely did not disappoint in this second installment to this series... Hudson and Alayna were even hotter in this one. The chemistry between them just oozes off the pages.

You can just feel how crazy they are for each other. They both have broken pasts and are struggling to rebuild themselves.. Alayna more so than Hudson. She struggles so hard to feel confident that Hudson's feelings for her are genuine and not just some game to him. Hudson's doing all he can to make her see how much she means to him but it's a fine line he's walking also.. He's crazy possessive of Alayna and he's never felt this way before either. He doesn't think he's worthy of her but would never give her up regardless. They need each other to heal each other. They still have a long way to go but they are definitely on the right track.

This installment had a little more angst than Fixed on You but it was the perfect amount needed...enough to grip you and keep you turning the pages. We've also got outside forces threatening Hudson and Alayna's fragile hold on each other. This element to the story just made it so much better. OH.. one more thing... the steam factor on a scale of 1-10??? 12!! SO freaking HOT. Wow.. Laurelin sure knows how to burn up the pages with some serious sexy times. She's fast becoming one of my favorite authors. She knows how to draw you into her story and not let go until the very end. She had me from page one in Fixed On You and has still not let go at the end of this one. Now, there is a third installment coming so this story is not complete. But although this story is not done, the ending here is not really cliffy at all. Hudson and Alayna are in a good place and it was a great place to pause the storyline. Not something crazy causing you to throw your kindle across the room but still enough to beg Laurelin to get busy!!!

If you are a fan of the Bared To You series by Sylvia Day then you would definitely love this series. So... if you've not met Hudson yet.. What are you waiting for???

"Found in You is a stellar, fantastic, sweltering, brilliant and absolutely addictive addition to an already obsessive worthy series!" - Angie's Dreamy Reads

First off let me say what a HUGE fan of this series I am!!! I can't even begin to describe how much I love it. There's something about Hudson and Alayna that just sweeps you off your feet. Their story is captivating and so sensually erotic it leaves you feeling blissful. When I read the first book in this series called Fixed on You, I was beyond impressed. I had that shivering, sweep that you get when you read those books that attach themselves to your heart and by the end of it I was actually depressed it was over. I didn't want it to end and I had the WORST book hangover. I become emotionally attached to the characters to the point where they were in my thoughts for days. It's safe to say I fell in book love, heaven and suffered for awhile with moving before being able to move on.

So obviously when I got the second book in the series, Found in You, I was giddy. I'd say both the first and second books are in my top 6 reads this year. They are brilliant, enchanting and absolutely addictive. I'm a smut reader. It's who I am and I love smut with a very different - sets itself apart apart - romance and that's exactly what this series is. It's not your average run of the mill plot because these two are CRAZY!

LITERALLY!!!!!

And their crazy is what brings them together and what allows you to connect and fall in love with them. They have this kinetic, tangible energy to them that's impossible not to get caught up in. I probably looked like an idiot reading Found in You!! The smile that raked my face was ridiculous. It was so blinding and constant that my cheeks ached. These two just make you happy!!! That's what they do.

Happy
Happy
Happy

That said there is angst because with stalker and manipulative tendencies you have a lot of crazy and high emotions. But the angst is manageable because the author hooks you hook, line and sinker into this story. She slays you! She takes your heart and keeps it. She really does.

Found in You picks up where Fixed on You left off. Huds (yummy yummy yummy!) has invited Alyana to his penthouse to stay the night, something he has NEVER done with any other woman (swoon). When she gets there after working a long, late night shift she finds Huds waiting for her. It's HOTTTTTTTT!!! Flat out flipping hot. Anyway, damn this review is swoony!!! Huds and Alayna are giving a "normal" relationship ago. But they have issues and old habits die hard when you get put under stress and a new relationship is stressful especially when you have Celia **grumbles** and Hudson's family to deal with, as well as, Alayna's work and past problems. And that's exactly what happens in this book. Huds and Alayna have to wade through some sticky things. There are lies that are covered up and then uncovered, messy fights, tons of incredibly hot makeup sex that's going to leave you tingly and well....you know ;) and a PLOT TWIST that will have you screaming "What?!?! No fucking way! Holy shit. Did that just happen????" <<------ no joke on that. My jaw DROPPED and I think I whooped and yelled "Karmas a bitch! You moody hoe" Haha! Yes, yelling at mean fictional characters is NOT beyond me.

All in all it's a STELLAR, FANTASTIC, SWELTERING, BRILLIANT and ABSOLUTELY addictive addition to an already obsessive worthy series! And the best part about Laurelin's books are there are NO CLIFFHANGERS!!! They all end with some resolve and a little juicy tid bit of suspense that has you humming for more. If you like sizzling sex, broken but lovable characters, a plot line that keeps you on your toes and just an all around hot alpha male, READ THIS!!!

It's one of my FAVORITE series!!! Hudson sits right next to Remy Tate (my book husband), Kellan Kyle, Colton Donovan, Gavin Blake and Christian Grey! He's an absolute delicious addition to my list, and completely unforgettable! He takes me to book boyfriend heaven.

This, my friends, is exactly my type of book!

Did I mention I’m a sucker for arrangement stories?
Add manipulations, twisted truths and mind fucks into the mix and I’m totally sold!

Alayna is the type of heroine who is neither too much, nor too little for my taste.
Hudson is the kind of book boyfriend we have come to love in the genre.
But he mostly kept his demeanor, even though he must have been in a turmoil on the inside. A consistent hero is a quality which I find to be missing in several series lately, especially after the first installment.

The story will be a bit predictable if you are paying attention.
In fact, my bad side wanted me to realise towards the end that .
The sadomasochist in me wanted a huge cliffhanger.
My good side loved how the story progressed.
(I know, this is schizo!)
Still, it was perfectly executed.
And we have a third book to look forward to. I’m sure it will hide surprises.

Even though this installment does not end with a cliffhanger, it still leaves open questions, food for thought and room for further revelations…

Thank you, Laurelin Paige.
I will be the one fixed on you from now on!

I usually dread reading sequels nowadays, finding most a disappointment, Found In You was certainly not. It was not full of fluff, no unnecessary fillers; The prose flows smoothly, the pace was pleasant, fast and grabbed me from the get go.

The book picks up straight where Fixed On You left off, Hudson and Alayna are in a good place; Content and somehow trying to have a 'normal' relationship, something which neither of them has had before. Unfortunately they still keep secrets from each other which allows room for doubt to arise in Alayna's mind. Alayna starts acting in a way that had me screaming at her and my kindle, I just knew it would not end well.

That being said, I understood where Laynie came from, the poor girl sure did go through a lot!! She just wants to be loved and accepted, flaws included.....

description

Again this book is written entirely in Alayna's POV but Laurelin has such a way with words that we get to see Hudson clearly through Alayna' eyes and let me tell you for such a 'broken' person he was perfection. I LOVED HUDSON!

There was a twist towards the end that had me gasping, it was so unexpected and I TRULY enjoyed reading that part! let me tell you that

Hudson and Laynie are in a really stable place at the end of the book, loved how they knew each other's worst secrets yet did not judge or shame.

No cliffhanger but we are left with questions that I am sure will be answered to our satisfaction in the last book! I CANNOT WAIT FOR IT!

I had Rob Thomas' Lonely No more in mind when reading about Hudson and Alayna, thought the lyrics suited their story so well!

This is the second part of the Fixed Trilogy. We start up right where the first book, Fixed on You, left off. Two people with compulsions to manage... two people learning to love freely without manipulation or games. Can they succeed? Can they be honest with each other? This is the book which explores these questions.

I had a little trouble in the beginning because pet peeves of mine were happening full blast. I am someone who just hates it when the character knows she should tell the guy information which will smack her in the face later and doesn't. I have to fight the urge to scream. However, I also understand these characters needed the conflict for drama and testing their love... so I sucked it up and kept reading.

I was glad I did as the book worked; conflicts abound and there was more growth between our couple. There was also a switch or two which added interest.

I am off to the third and final chapter...

Story Review: There is a whole lot of crazy going on in this series and I'm loving every minute of it. I'm completely enthralled with what is unfolding in this story. There is so many secrets, lies and sabotage. I think normally I would feel that would be too angsty of a read, but the way the author has written this series has made this a very exciting read.

I absolutely love Hudson. Alayna, not so much. She's way too emotional, but this wouldn't be what it is if she wasn't constantly questioning and seeking the truth. Celia is cray cray! I predicted I wanted to push her off a cliff in the first book and that still stands. How Alayna can't see the deception in Celia is beyond me. Celia is the perfect example of other women drama that is done right in a series.

Did I mention I love Hudson? I'm not sure I should. He has done some mean things in his past that should make any women in his life question if he is doing the same thing again. He says he isn't like that anymore and all signs point to Alayna being love at first sight for him, but I just know there is something that is about to hit the fan. On to book 3!

I was honored to receive an ARC from this author for an honest review. I fell in love with Hudson and Alayna in Fixed On You. It was one of favorite reads this year. Top 5 to be exact, and I read ALOT!! I can honestly say that I loved Found In You just as much, maybe even more. The two flawed characters in this book, break my heart. The obstacles, and the perceptions that they are trying to overcome is heart wrenching. The people threatening to tear them apart, and the lengths they go to achieve their goal is despicable and un-freaking-believable. Both Hudson and Alayna have dark pasts and issues, however this makes them to me, real. They are fixing each other, healing each other. No one is perfect, and finding that one person to share your life with, who will love you unconditionally is everyone's wish. Many never find it. This a love story, a story about knowing the truth, accepting, forgiving and moving forward. Loving someone for who they truly are, at their core, this is true love.

I am not including spoilers in this review, this is sooo difficult for me, due to the fact that I could go on about this book for days. The writing is fantastic. The flow, well I couldn't stop, so......that tells you it flows beautifully. I had to take a few calming breaths, before continuing because I was yelling at my computer, and scaring my 4 1/2 year old daughter.

The dialogue between the characters is realistic and so cute at times. The banter between Alayna and Hudson made me belly laugh, and blush at the same time, many times. The love scenes within the book are HOT!!!! Melt my laptop, hubby quirk the eyebrow, need an air conditioner in the room HOT! I read this ARC in less than 6 hours, I could not walk away.

This book is hard for me to describe, because of all the emotions and thoughts I had while reading. I had purposefully walked away after I finished reading in order to process. Even now I am still trying to wrap my head around it's beauty. I will tell you one thing, THIS IS A MUST READ for anyone who loves romance. Found In You is romantic, pulse pounding, a little dirty *winks*, dramatic, tension filled and heart warming all in one fabulous package. I am now anxiously awaiting book 3 in the series. And this one, Found In You, has not even been released yet. It's going to be a long, arduous wait for me for sure. If you have not been introduced to this new indie author yet, you should be, get on it!!!

I loved Hudson even more in this book! He is a dreamy, beautiful sex god!!! Yummilicious!!! I enjoyed how their relationship really grows in this book. They become so much closer, & even though Hudson has trouble showing how he feels with words, his actions reveal what he truly feels for Alayna. (And boy does he show her) no, really he is so romantic, sweet, & fiercely protective. We find out some secrets & some people can't be trusted. I can't wait to see how their relationship evolves even more in book 3! :)

-Startled, my mouth fell open and then stayed open as I ogled the gorgeous man dressed only in boxer shorts. The definition of his sculpted chest quickened my heart before my gaze caught his gray eyes through the flop of his brown hair in the dim light. I'd never seen him in boxer shorts, and damn, had I been missing out.

 photo f82e2ad5-88e9-4b90-83fe-c1aee4a73744.jpg

-God, the man was the yummiest thing on the planet.

-With that look, he said everything-how much he believed in us, how good we were. How much he loved me, even though he couldn't yet say the words.

-His eyes were scarred with lust, his expression wild. So hot. It was so hot. No one had ever looked at me like that before him. No gaze had ever come close.

-I can barely breathe when you aren't near me, when I'm not touching you.

-He stood and kicked his clothes off, the ache of his absence made dull with the sight of him stripped. That's how I loved us best- completely naked, no barriers between us.

-Always, I want you. I want to give you everything. All of me.

5 INCREDIBLE STARS!!

The Fixed series has become one of my favorite series!

Found in You was quite the steamy read. Laurelin Paige can writes some incredible sexy scenes!

I love Hudson and I love Alayna. I was anxious to see where their relationship was going to go. I knew things were not going to be easy for them. They were both flawed and they both needed to heal the other.

As they give their relationship a go it is not without some challenges. Alayna needs to work through her stalker tendency and Hudson needs to work on his control issues. They both need to learn how to trust. But that is easier said than done!

In this book there was more angst then in Fixed On You. I hated Sophia in that book and I hated her in this book too. But the one that will be crowned the BITCH in this book will be Celia!

And the plot twist that was crazy! I didn't put that one together. I had to reread those few pages over again to make sure I got it right.

Finally, I loved how this book ended. I was happy with where their relationship had came to be. It still wasn't perfect but it was what worked for them. Without doubt they loved each other.

One of my favorite quotes!
“Because I love you. I love you too much, like I always do, but this time I don’t regret it and I don’t wish I could take it back because you need it. So take it from me, H. Take it all from me.”

Looking forward to January for the 3rd installment - Forever With You!

Alayna drove me nuts most of the book & the stuffing the phone in her bra thing, up I can't take it,
Hudson is perfection. I saw some other reviews that said who you think you should trust you shouldn't, so I flipped my trust on several characters, but I was right the first time. :)

First, I’d just like to say that if Alayna doesn’t want to be obsessed with Hudson Pierce, then I will gladly do all the crazy stalking for her. No, but really. Laurelin’s Fixed trilogy has a special place in my heart. Fixed On You was the book I read right after I got my iPhone stolen on vacation in Pairs three days before my birthday. I needed a distraction and Hudson Pierce was the perfect fix. It helped me feel sooo much better after crying my eyes out. It took me to a different world and I'm obsessed. It reminded me of the power of books make you forget everything else. If you haven’t read Fixed On You, you might want to do that before reading the rest of this review. And you definitely want to do that before you read Found In You. And you need to read these books immediately. How could you not want to? It’s different. It’s intense. It’s fresh. It’s captivating. It’s sexy as hell. It’s relatable on some level. It has a gorgeous, alpha male, It has a strong, quirky heroine. It makes you think. It has twists and turns. It makes you fall in love with the heroine, the hero, the plot, the writing style, and most of all, the author.

“I’m the same man, Alayna. A man who commits to whichever plan he’s chosen. I had told myself that I couldn’t have you. So I didn’t let myself even try.”

Found In You starts off exactly where we left off with Fixed On You. I love when books start off with a bang. Literally. Alayna has decided to give in to Hudson’s wishes and goes to spend the night with him in his apartment, where he has never brought another woman. Laurelin is magical at writing their love scenes. Hudson is dominating in the bedroom, but not in the BDSM way. Like everything she does, Alayna puts all her heart into their lovemaking.

“Because I love you. I love you too much, like I always do, but this time I don’t regret it and I don’t wish I could take it back because you need it. So take it from me, H. Take it all from me.”

Their chemistry is scorching and all-encompassing. Although the lingo can get pretty dirty, I get swept away in their passion. Every. Single. Time. Which is a lot. Yup, they’re at it all the time. No complaints here. So anyway, this book is mainly about Hudson and Alayna learning to be in a relationship. This is the first real time for both of them. Alayna isn’t obsessively stalking Hudson and Hudson isn’t manipulating Alayna. Alayna has already professed her love for Hudson, but Hudson isn’t able to say it.

“Just don’t give up on us. Please, don’t give up. I’m a shell without you, Alayna. I can barely breathe when you aren’t near me, when I’m not touching you.”

Sometimes, I forget that he hasn’t said “I love you” yet. His love for her just shines in everything he does. And he says he doesn’t know how to do romantic. Psh. I basically have two reactions to everything Hudson does: I swoon or I melt. Swooning is when he’s being sweet and doing things like buying Alayna a library. Melting is when he’s doing things like fucking Alayna EVERYWHERE. We still have a few issues from the first book, like Hudson’s awful mother, Celia being too buddy-buddy with Hudson, Alayna’s pompous brother, and Alayna’s almost affair with her boss, David. But, I loved the new issues. There were so many things I didn’t see coming. And on top of that, Alayna and Hudson talk to each other a bit about their pasts and my heart was breaking for the two of them. It was a lot more twisted that we were initially led to believe in Fixed On You I loved seeing them fight their pasts together.

“But more importantly, if you’re in a mess of any sort, then so am I. Not legally. But because you’re mine. And I’m yours. And that means I’m tied to you in every way. Good and bad. If you can’t see that, then we have no chance.”

Since they’re still fairly new to real relationships and to each other, they have to learn how to communicate and to share their burdens. I was proud of how they both seemed to change when they accepted that they couldn’t manage a fake relationship because everything between them was so real and intense. Alayna felt so relatable to me. She was struggling between being in love with Hudson and being obsessed with Hudson. There is a fine line separating love and lust. It’s something all girls have to deal with at one point or another. I feel like she handled it all well. Hudson can be very intense and overwhelming. That’s another thing. The book was so well written that you get sucked in to every moment, seeing and feeling everything Alayna does. Hudson was the dark, brooding man I’ve been craving lately.

“And because I’m not skilled at expressing how I feel in words, I’m wishing I could show you exactly how into you I am at the moment.”

Hudson has his struggles too. He internalizes it more than Alayna but he is struggling with the concept that he could deserve someone like Alayna. He has a messed up past and it holds him back at times. Alayna strips down his walls like no one else can. Usually I hate the whole “Oh, I don’t deserve you thing”, but it made sense with Alayna and Hudson. They complete each other like they never thought possible. Theirs is a story of two broken people with dark pasts learning to love and be loved. Which means that this story is not all hearts and flowers the whole time. It’s hard to figure out who you can trust in the book. Everything is just too new to them and Alayna gets pulled in every direction. I can pinpoint exactly two points where I almost threw my iPad across the room. You’ll know. I absolutely can’t wait till Forever With You. As soon as I was finished with Found In You, I was already craving more Hudson and Alayna. I loved the rollercoaster Laurelin took us on with Hudson and Alayna. Although, I’ll be extremely sad to say goodbye to them in the final installment to the Fixed trilogy, I’m ready for them to have their HEA.

“I’m not giving up, if that’s what you’re asking. I’m so lost without you. Find me, Hudson.”
“I already have.”
