Excellent for young readers! We just finished this book as extra history reading in our homeschool and we are about to start the second book in this series. The authors make reading the history of the United States fun and engaging for elementary and middle schoolers. And the best part is that they include the FAITH of the explorers and founders, not just revised history. Selected as a read-a-loud to my young children (8,6,4,2). While I loved the biblical aspect, the flow of sentence structure was difficult at times. Book was not a page turner and we lost interest for large periods of time, but we were determined to finish. In the future I would read this again as the story is important, but I would approach it differently, coordinating it to our american history studies.

Not as much useful information as From Sea to Shining Sea in my opinion. This first volume of this providential American history often felt scattered and disjointed, while fact and opinion were muddled together. I probably won't be using too much of this book in our studies, favoring more straightforward texts instead.

This is such a fantastic book. We all loved the way it was written showing God's will through out our countries history. We are looking forward to starting the next book soon.
We are reading this as part of our history curriculum this year (2015-2016). It is subtitled "Discovering God's Plan for America." It tells the story of history (covering the years 1492-1787) from a Christian worldview. It is geared for an audience from 9-12 years old.
