Set in northern California, this suspense novel centers on a Morgan, female police detective whose husband was murdered 14 months ago. A new police officer arrives and they are soon working together to solve that crime as quickly as possible in order to help Morgan's son who has been kidnapped by the man accused of murdering her husband. Anne Patrick is a favorite author.

First of all, I'll just say that an author is taking up a really hard task to pull of a successful romance when the heroine's child has been kidnapped. This story is no different. I've read some really unbelievable stories and then some where the author got it right. This one fell somewhere in the middle...

The suspense was great. I got a little confused a few times as to everything that was going on - but that's probably because I listened to this book on my Kindle a lot while driving or such an

I would have been able to give this book a higher rating had it not been for the extreme amount of grammatical errors which I encountered. It is probably nearly impossible to publish a book without some errors in editing but I was disappointed in the number that I found in Journey to Redemption. Early in the book there were fewer errors and it was not as distracting as later in the book where it was not uncommon to find several errors on the same page and even in the same paragraph. On one occas ...more

At the risk of using a coined phrase, Journey to Redemption by Anne Partick is a page turner. This book was a quick read, the story never having a lull or uninteresting segment. a multitude of characters appear, characters that we learn to love such as Morgan, Chase, Jared and the dog Cosmo. Ms. Patrick shows she is familiar with police procedures. The emotions run high as Morgan's son, Jared is kidnapped by a killer and he is out to punish Morgan for happenings in the past. Morgan, with her par ...more

I enjoyed "Journey to Redemption" because of the underlying plot about a woman trying to get her life back together after the death of her husband. As in other good Christian fiction, the main character faces a disappointment with God and must find her way back to the truth. Some of the other reviewers have pointed out some of the flaws with the main plot; however, I believe those can be overlooked and the story enjoyed as the suspense and romance it's intended to be. Anne Patrick has created a ...more

I appreciated that the book was clean as far as sex and graphic violence goes. However, it wasn't clean as far as editing--errors were distracting. I figured out the "bad guy" very early on, and I wondered why the characters weren't at least suspicious of him. The heroine's behavior during the time her son was being held by a kidnapper who had murdered multiple times (possibly including her husband) was much too calm. She did normal activities like sleeping and cooking when most mothers would be ...more

First time reading an Anne Patrick book. It was good writing and quite a story.
I only gave it 4 stars for two reasons...1 I was able to guess the Bad Guy Twist early on and 2 I am a Mom and there is no way humanly possible for a Mother to remain that calm in a situation like that. I can't imagine going on eating, sleeping, cooking, etc. And I sure wouldn't sit all night in the woods just down the trail...

Great book

4 stars for a good read and 5 stars for a "clean read". Loved the story line but agree with others that the main character reads more like a concerned adult than a mom. I would not have been as focused on my job as her with my child missing. But great character development and a wonderful quick read.

An easy to read Fiction that you 'know' is fiction because the story and characters lack that realism that grabs hold of the reader's emotional core. However, as light entertainment this book is okay.

It's hard to give up the past when it comes back to haunt you.

Morgan was just beginning to face the future when the very worse thing in the past comes to the for front. Now she's turned 180 degree God is making her face the facts
